Paul Kantner wrote Wooden Ships...the record company wouldn't allow his name on it for the first CSN record when Steve Stills with a handshake promised him all the royalties...Stills kept his word,to this day I have enormous respect for Steve Stills a true class act.

Grace and Paul together, something so relieving about this moment, like, "Oh ,there they are, everything must be alright." To know that you can come back to it, thanks for posting.

Thank you for posting this!! We rolled out of our IH TravelAll and the first person we met was Wavy Gravy. He was parking his car too. I watched this show from the trees, near where this video was taken. I was in tears by the end Wooden Ships. Later at the Greek that night, Bobby played Blackbird at intermission with the Russian musician.

I was at both of shows too. I was there with friends from Philadelphia. I was 21 then. Thankful to have caught this for sure.

I was there (backstage 8')) and could swear they also played "Have You Seen the Stars Tonight." Robert Heinlein had died a few days previously. Maybe that was later at the Nicaraguan benefit?

In the mid 1980s, musician Paul Kantner traveled to Nicaragua out of concern for the Sandinista situation. While in the country, he was given a song called "Comandante Carlos Fonseca", written by composer Carlos Mejía Godoy and revolutionary Tomás Borge. After reforming Jefferson Starship in the 1990s, he added the song to his repertoire, eventually recording the song for the 2008 album Jefferson's Tree of Liberty. Comandante Carlos..."

This must have been just after Grace left Starship. Of course, within a year they would reunite with Marty, Jorma and Jack as Jefferson Airplane. Just too bad Paul is no longer with us. I would have loved to hear what he would have written about concerning Trump.

wavy gravy tried to hit me and my buddies Nate and Ben up for a hit off of our lit bowl, friday 13, 1983. it was a coke laced bowl saved for the first notes of jerry and the dead. Nate was pissed that I dissed the wavy man and sent him packing. it took me a good many extravegances to accumulate that particular bowl. it was packed and ready to blaze for four or five days. looks like pete sears over there at the command of the keys. WOW!
