I think those five dollar trees are perfect for nursing home bedrooms for residents whom love Christmas trees. They can be decorated with ornaments from dollar tree as well. Each tree could cost about twenty dollars with ornaments but worth it as a volunteer craft project for five or more trees in certain rooms that love trees that much. The dollar trees are nice for those who want a smaller tree in their room or if its a budget problem solved if there are more residents who love Christmas trees. Kindest Regards, Aiden Alamo

They are. I work at a nursing home. Our owners wife did 5 HUGE trees in the facility, all magazine worthy and each unique. Some residents have the mini trees for their rooms and some have the 4 ft ones. Some add a beautiful wreath to their door. I love seeing all the decorations.

Green zip ties also work great to bind the two trees together.

Fabulous ideas at an affordable price! 👍🏻🎄 Several days later: I’ve been to the Dollar Tree and purchased 3 small trees and 2 large trees plus a cart full of ribbon, picks and ornaments. I may go back and get 2 more large trees so I can do a fuller one like you did for my front porch. I also plan to make a door swag and a double sided mailbox swag with the small trees and a mantle “garland” with the 2 large. Thanks for these cost saving tips. I’ll probably do something a little different next year, but will add a little each year because I can’t afford all new decorations every year.

I love the mantel decoration with the two Christmas trees, but I think the Grinch tree is my favorite. Love these!

Also walmart is great for Christmas stuff. I got a 4ft really pretty cashmere style fake tree that's pre-lit for only $25. And they have cheap mini tree ornaments and decor. Love these diys though! Didn't know dollar tree had fake trees!

I purchased one of those $5 trees last year at Dollar Tree. Not bad for the price. They came in a canvas storage bag last year vs. the cardboard box this year.

I LOVE the swag idea!! I was planning on purchasing pre-lit swags, but it was more than $60 for a pair! I already have ribbon and lots of fairy lights, so hopefully my local dollar tree will be stocked with these mini Christmas trees! The DIYs look stunning and expensive 😍

I keep a bag of concrete to put these trees in and other things like outside signs and things like that. It provides weight in the bottom and when dry its secured very good. When the holiday is over I grab a large leaf bag and put it in it and store it until the next year.. I've been using the same bag of concrete for 3 yrs now so it's actually cheaper that buying all the styrofoam things to put in the buskets. I use coffee cans and paint them. It works great and looks pretty good

Awsome idea with 2 trees & put them together with craft filler, rock and a bucket is cool. Dollar tree sales extra green ! No mess at all. Dollar tree ornaments would be perfect. I prefer my kids& grandkids pick there own ornaments on the tree! Thanks for sharing!
