THE LEGENDS NEVER DIE!
He never wore a crown, but, for me, he was the one true King of the Seven Kingdoms. The only one who could put all the lands together thanks to his wisdom and manipulating ability. He rebuilt his House and family name and grew up his children by giving them knowledge of power and state of affairs. You can blame him for lack of considering about ‘what his actual family was doing’ (Cersei&Jaime’s incestuous relationship, the enmity between Cersei and Tyrion) and ignoring ‘the whims and wishes of his sons and daughter’, but you can hardly deny that Tywin was the real power not only in KL but in whole Westeros. Underestimating Tyrion was maybe the only one his mistake, the fatal mistake.
Jaime&Genna’s dialogue from AFFC (‘A Feast for Crows’) by GRRM:
GENNA: How could I not love him [Tywin], after that? That is not to say that I approved of all he did, or much enjoyed the company of the man that he became... but every little girl needs a big brother to protect her. Tywin was big even when he was little.
/ She gave a sigh. /
GENNA: Who will protect us now?
/ Jaime kissed her cheek. /
JAIME: He left a son.
GENNA: Aye, he did. That is what I fear the most, in truth.

JAIME: Why should you fear?

You smile like Gerion and fight like Tyg, and there’s some of Kevan in you, else you would not wear that cloak... but Tyrion is Tywin’s son, not you. I said so once to your father’s face, and he would not speak to me for half a year. Men are such thundering great fools. Even the sort who come along once in a thousand years.

TYWIN LANNISTER: I did. I grew up with him. I watched him grow old. He loved us. He was a good man, but a weak man. A weak man who nearly destroyed our house and name.

“The house that puts family first will always defeat the house that puts the whims and wishes of its sons and daughters first.” This quote really hit hard after it cut to Robb and Talisa getting married which ended up resulting in theirs and Catelyn’s death. Great edit!

Tywin was bad ass. One of the best kings to hit kings landing. Aerys 2 had the title in name only

You've literally picked up some of the most brilliant dialogues and clips of Tywin. So many of Tywin Lannister tributes I've seen, all of them containing more or less same clips. You've made something rare💯

bazingonator мне страшно приятно, спасибо! 😍 и в особенности за то, что заметила параллели (на самом деле их в сериале больше, но я не хотела перегружать видео или растягивать его на 5-6 минут). ты права, Дэнс бесподобен - и каждый эпизод с его участием тоже (мне ещё очень нравится удалённая сцена с Пицелем из 3-го сезона, где Тайвин ловит рыбу на берегу)! и вообще, не раз ловила себя на мысли, что после смерти Тайвина в сериале как-то поубавилось мудрости )) очень не хватало его в последующих сезонах, поэтому радовала каждая отсылка!

и кстати, я удивлена, что у Чарльза нет даже номинации на Эмми за эту роль, потому что исполнил он её феноменально. очень надеюсь, что хотя бы Лина в воскресенье получит свою статуэтку 🏆 это заслуженная награда за ~9 лет такой работы и множества перевоплощений!

@@alyakaz Именно! Я тоже удивлена, что Чарльза в своё время даже не номинировали... Ведь потрясающий актёр! Я бы даже сказала, один из лучших (если не самый лучший) в касте Престолов. А про Лину - да, согласна. Тоже болею за неё! Её Серсея получилась безумно колоритным персонажем. Люблю сериальную Серсею намного больше, чем книжную :D. Очень обидно, что последние сезоны Лине буквально нечего было играть (спасибо сценаристам), однако её последняя сцена с Джейме в 8 сезоне - это просто разрыв сердечка...

bazingonator скажу больше - из-за этой сцены я и начала смотреть сериал! сейчас, конечно, жалею, что не сделала это раньше, когда ещё не было известно, чем закончится вся история... надеюсь, в скором времени мы узнаем, насколько будет отличаться концовка, которую задумал Мартин в своих книгах)

I assume he knew how smart Tyrion was when he had named him the Hand of the King in season 1, don’t you think? And they had many conversations about politics and ruling the kingdoms while Tywin barely had one with neither Cersei or Jaime as he knew that Cersei was too self-concerned (‘I distrust you because you’re not as smart as you think you are’) and Jaime was too military man.

If he was really smart he would’ve gotten remarried and had as many heirs as he could. It’s hypocritical how he refused to remarry but expected his weirdo children to get married and have children (Cersei specifically).

I have always wondered, what would Tywin do to deal with the Dragon Queen and the White Walkers if he was alive, it would be very interesting to see, and BTW my money is on Tywin, he would emerge triumphant as he always does, sorry...have.

I mean, Cersei almost got the job done, Tywin wouldn't even let her land in Dragonstone. If Tywin survived, he would have married Cersei to Loras making sure the Reach was on his side (with the Redwyne fleet and with Tommen's death Loras would be King consort and Cersei the Queen). The Riverlands would still be under his comand (after the Frey's are gone he couls just simply name another lord to control the situation), he could work with Littlefinger to get the Vale, also without Stannis he would regain control on the Stormlands. At this point Tywin controls the Crownlands, Reach, Stormlands, Riverlands, Westlands and possibly the Vale (4 or 5 out of 7 is pretty good). Dorne is a lost cause, they would go 100% with Daenerys, and after Yara goes to her Euron and the remaining Ironborn would go with Tywin. The North is doing his own thing with their civil war, and their idea of independence. Daenerys would only have supporters in Dorne, and even if she ally herself with the North they couldn't stand the force of the other kingdoms, even if we add the unsullied, dodrakhis, and dragons, she is outnumbered, Tywin would likely crush the North first (an already devastated Kingdom is an easier target) and then focus on Dany and the dornish. After she is gone then he would reunite Westeros against the White Walkers (also without dragons helping the North the is no undead Viseryon and no destruction of the Wall) But even if that still happens, he could just mine dragonglass and order mass production of Wildfire (a fire which never runs out would be pretty useful against the unded)
