"Piri" is the last part of the Nightmare Arc (their Japanese release "Breaking out" can be seen as an alternative ending). In "What", the girls have been searching for Yoohyeon, and here they find each other again, but in the end they are all stuck in the white dimension. A Piri is a Korean flute that was used historically to signal danger, and that is what Yoohyeon does here when the members arrive. She is the one capturing them one by one, to rescue them and bring them to safety. They are together in the end, but still stuck. Dreamcatcher don't do happy endings. 😉

Dreamcatcher channel has everything Dreamcatcher on it. The parent company (Happyface) has other material fans find interesting like video of Minx, the 5 member group that eventually became Dreamcatcher.

piri is a korean instrument, like a flute

Piri was the first Dreamcatcher song I heard. I was driving down the road and listening to a random mix based off of my preferences. This came on and I immediately loved it. As soon as I got to a red light, I grabbed my phone and liked the song. Unfortunately, by time I got home, I completely forgotten about it. It was about a year later when I came across the Scream MV and fell in love all over again. As others have said, the final song in the Nightmare series is actually their first Japanese release, Breaking Out. After that is Deja Vu, which is just something else.

dreamcatcher \:D/ yeah piri caught a lot of new fans, particularly within the kpop sphere since it mixed a trap beat with heavy distorted guitars. the drums here are also insane. dreamcatcher bridges are always fire 🔥

For me, Dreamcatcher is the first alternative K-pop group - and with the best singing potential. Of the early songs, "Trap", "Silent night" and "In the frozen" (unfortunately all without an official MV) are the best for me alongside the respective main releases. And it's really worth continuing to follow her path. Lately "Fairytale" (official special MV), "Demian" (official special MV), "Rising" (live show case") and "Shatter" (official dance MV) have been the hits for me - not just in K- Pop, thank you for your attention.

Piri is not the last Nightmare Series mv (it's only the last Korean one). Their first Japanese title track Breaking Out is the last in the series.

Pil-lil-lil-lil-ly = Koreans do not have an R or an L in their language. What the do have is "ㄹ" which falls sort of in between the 2 and sounds like a rolled R which sounds more like an L than and R. That's about as far as I can go with my limited ability to explain this. Your best bet would be to go to google translate and listen to how the word piri is actually spoken by a korean. Piri marks the end of the Nightmare Series and the debut of rapper Gahyeon (the one in the hat). There is, however, a Japanese release called Breaking Out which most InSomnias consider to be an alternate ending to the series. Piri is the unhappy ending where they all get sucked back into the nightmare. Breaking out is the happier ending where they all escape the nightmare. I'm loving your journey with Dreamcatcher. They are, in my most humble opinion, the best group in kpop. As you've discovered, they are super unique (no one does it like Dreamcatcher), super talented and, as you'll find out when you start venturing into their B-sides, very versatile. Not to mention that they are 7 of the most down to earth, humble and quite often quite hilarious people you will ever encounter. If you're interested in learning all their names and putting those names to faces, I would recommend that you check out the This is... series from Insomnicsy's KZread channel. It's a series of short videos (7 minutes each) that are all dedicated to one of the members. There's a total of 4 series, one each for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, with 7 videos in each series, one for each member. There is also a This Is Dreamcatcher video in the 2020 series. I know that sounds like a lot of videos, but you don't have to tackle them all at once. The series is pretty informative, very helpful with putting names to faces and, for the most part, really quite funny. React to them if you want or just watch them on your own. Naturally we'd all like to see your reactions to them but we also understand that time might be an issue.

it gets crazy on the b-sides, hope you go to that route after title tracks. Dreamcatcher is just amazing.

İn your reactions u mostly talk about vocals, i have to say all 7 of them are great vocalists. Even main rapper Dami. When u discover b-sides or covers u will see what i mean. Continue to discography is good idea but if want a great vocal show from siyeon u have to react to speecless cover. İts amazing cover. But like i said all 7 of them are great vocalists. Both happyface and dreamcatcher are their official channels, this is on the heavier side and one of my faves, looking forward to when you listen to their b-sides man, you'll be surprised by more vocals or dare i say, shatter your expectations

pilililily is how Koreans express the sound of the piri(flute). Also, the sound part is a sample of a flute as far as I know. Hope you'll check out Breaking Out next, which is the ulternate ending of the Nightmare series.

No actual accurate Piri sounds are in the song. It sounds more like an oboe since it's a reed instrument. There are also various sizes so they can range quite a bit in pitch.

This is the song that got me into them. :) and i see others are also weighing in on name pronunciations haha. I didnt mention the t/d thing with damis name because that and the r/l thing are typically pretty hard for english speakers and i don't have those all the time still either.

Dami? It's neither. The Korean character written in English as 'D' isn't pronounced like an English 'D'. If you can say D and T at the same time you've got it. To my ear it sounds more like Tami, but when she's talking to an English speaking audience she pronounces it the English way so it's all good. Korean is a crazy difficult language. Same thing with Piri. If you can say 'R' and 'L' at the same time then you got it. The song that follows Piri is their Japanese release Breaking Out. It wasn't really a comeback since the song wasn't promoted or performed in South Korea because of Korean/Japanese hostility. It was illegal at the time for anything in Japanese language to be broadcast in South Korea, and mostly still is. The song got overlooked by Korean fans, but it is connected to the first six and you can make of it what you will.

Your second pronunciation of Dami was good, so not the "a" as in "damn". Both the "r" and "l" are the same letter in Korean. Sometimes it sounds more like a "r", sometimes more like a "l". The one with the "crazy vibrato" is Yoo-hyeon. I think Piri is the first song where Ga-hyeon raps.

Dami is pronounced “ Dah - mi” . however, in Korean, a d can also sound like a t. So say Tommy with a stuffy nose and you’ll pronounce it like some Koreans do. 😅
