If I had a 6.0 and the money I would have this guy do the upgrades, just because he is so dedicated to the PowerStroke community.
Best part of the video: 5:27: "this is the factory intercooler... again, we're talking plastic crap, oh my god."
Good Day, early on when I had my first 6.0 I would direct the mechanics at the dealer to your links. They were pulling 60-80 hour week with little or no help from the mother ship (FMC). I appreciated every effort attempted after all they didn't design or build It. They were throwing a lot of parts at the 6.0. With your Video's It gave The dealer service mechanic a true advantage. Thank you for advancing the service life of the 6.0.
Thats kick azz but I think I went broke just watching it
you do a helluva job with your marketing and communicating!!! Excellent product knowledge and total industry awareness, I wish more business owners had your savvy!!!
The fuel return systems is a great idea. The constant flow helps keep everything that much cooler overall.
Only you Bill, can come up with these outstanding upgrades. I am so amazed.
Perhaps I'll need to sell my soul to the devil in order to afford a reliable 6.0 powerstroke.
I will not hesitate to drive down from NJ when I purchase my next Power stroke. I've even been looking around your area so I can just drive it straight there. A clean low mileage truck would last me the rest of my days if I could get it completely gone through by you. Thanks for all the videos and info you post Bill.
Thanks for the good info. Great video as always
Great video - do you have any additional info on the extra cooling lines?? Is the front cover drilled and tapped ??
"It's functional and shiny, and I like like pretty shiny things" about the radiator, hahaha
He has convinced me to buy a big block gas motor.

sucks! As cools as a 502 is or even a small block 350 or 383 stroker is, nothing compares to the torque and power of a diesel just a different itch!!! I love my 5.9 cummins and would never got back to gas for a truck. Unless, maybe a c10 and I would prolly just go with a 350 or something!
I would LOVE to have you do some upgrades on my 04, I've had the heads done once at the dealer(under warranty) and now I've got another coolant issue, no longer under warranty, I just wish you weren't so far away, you're a wealth of knowledge on the powerstroke engines
Awesome videos. I have learned alot from them. I have done a lot to my truck using them. I have a quick question, do you normally do a resistance check on your injectors when you receive them? I put a set of 8 injectors in just to find out one had low circuit. I Did a resistance check and found one side not reading any resistance. Would one bad injector cause the truck to stall when put in gear while cold?
Yes, I have done the blue spring upgrade and monitor the fuel pressure w/ an ISSPRO EV2. 62-64psi
Yes I would check your radiator thoroughly to make sure that no debris is blocking it. What are the actual EOT and EOC temps.
Three Fs. Fluids Fuel and Filters on time every time is the key. Also Modern fuel additives help alot with keeping injectors and pumps happy.
What do you think of a oil cleaning centrifuge.? Never seen one available for vehicles but I’ve seen them on the pump motors on the drilling rig I work on. The materials it picks up out of the oils is absolutely incredible. It’s so fine it’s almost like a rubber. Do you think it would be a good way to help your oil system stay clean.? Another thing I’d like to get for my 6.0 would be a battery kill switch somewhere inside the cab. I’ve had my truck stolen and it was recovered and I wasn’t able to have insurance write it off. Anyways any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
It is impossible to tell without seeing it.
Great video man really helpful stuff. But if I may ask one question, how much would it cost including parts and labor to fully bulletproof and fully gorilla proof a 6.0? Thanks
First I'd like to thank you for your time in making these series of videos and answering all the questions you get. I've got a 05' f350 6.0 and I'm overheating while pulling loads. The following has been done Banks 4" exhaust,hi ram,egr delete, bully dog cold air, coolant filter, arp studs and black onyx gaskets,700 miles ago oil cooler,Banks 6 gunner. I've got the 6 gunner set at 230 water and 225 oil temp anything beyond this alarms will sound .Could it be the coolant fan clutch ?
Yes. One of the reasons I am not a big fan of upgraded injectors is I have taken several motors apart to find cracked pistons, broken rings etc. The stock injectors will not flow enough to make this happen.
I can't find the bulletproof series anymore, what happened?
Hey really enjoy your videos hope you keep posting new ones. But I've been looking around to up size my 6.0 injectors but what's considered the next size up not trying to get radical but something that'll run good stock or very mildly tuned since I haul pretty heavy showtime
The cranks, rods are never an issue. The pistons get damaged from the heat. BUT you can hurt a stock tuned engine if you run it hard all the time.
one more day usually IF the parts are all here. You must call a week ahead so we can make sure all the parts are here.
Another great video! Thought you was gonna start the truck up. Dangit
sounds line the VGT solenoid is sticking OR the turbo may need to be taken apart and cleaned. To be sure I'd need to run a diag on it.
Because of you I want to go to school for diesel mechanic and work for you.
Hard to say. Is the fuel pressure still where it should be?
i believe i've watched all of your videos and am curious on your thoughts about the airdogs or fass systems vs that raycor filter, haven't seen anything mentioned anyway. is it just a cost issue?
I have seen reliability problems with fassfuel systems due to improper installation. First for them to work correctly they NEED the regulated return. In the stock system they work so hard that they constantly burn up wiring. Installed correctly they are excellent systems.
I would like to do a regulated fuel return on my 6.0 and im just curious on how more mpg more I would get
So would adding a 4" with flow through muffler actually hurt my mpg on my 7.3?
Amsoil is excellent but under hot start conditions I have run into a no start with amsoil. Especially if the HPOP has some miles on it.
I love your videos but I do not have a power stroke. I do have a 06 volks jetta TDI. What could I do to make this car more happy happy.
Where can I find the upgrades you mention in this video for purchase?
Fuel bowl delete and frame mounted spin on filterS is so much better you get better filtration and less junk in the engine bay. Mine is fed from the back can't even see the feed lines they come in from the back of the block, all that is really viable is the FPR and return line. Makes it so much easier when you need to work in there.
Hey bill, I'm having a trouble code on my 06 6.0 that I've been getting on my sct tuner that is p0000. I delete te code but everytime I turn the truck off and come back to start back up it comes back on. I don't know what the deal is, the truck has no cold start issues or running issue and it started when it started getting in the 20s here in Kentucky. Like I said it starts up fine, no injector misses or stiction.
Does a regulated fuel return replace having a blue spring kit? Or can you have both
hey bill what does the $800 include for the cylinder head o ring is that resurfacing the old head and o ringing
Bill, I would like to know what you think about extended life coolant with a cat-1 rating. People are switching and saying the silicates in the gold is clogging our oil coolers. Elc does not have silicates. Would you think it is a good thing to switch with the propper flushing of the cooling system before hand?
It has a lot to do with the loose nut behind the wheel. I just put an engine in an early 03 F450 that was bulltproofed and tuned that NEVER had an easy life. It had 492,000 and still ran good but was using oil.
Great Stuff! Are you going to put up how to gorilla proof a 6.4? Practically drooling over all your videos!
With all the special parts needed how much do they all come to bulletproof to six so in what is really necessary if not all
Can't wait til the 6.4 video
I am in the process of replacing my egr cooler with a bulletproof unit and an oem oil cooler. This will be the second time I have had this issue with my 2004 Super Duty and I am wanting to do some of the other upgrades in this video but can find no information on your site for sources of these upgrades. If you are a distributor or have information on these products, please reply.
I have my truck torn down now to do some repairs. New oil cooler, welded EGR cooler, coolant filter, blue spring upgrade, adding Rex-X, gauges, 4" turbo back exhaust, repairing FICM and Atlas 40 tune, ecm/ tcm roll back with egr delete and 65hp tow tune from power hungry performance. I'm saving for the regulated fuel return from Dozer's, I'm also interested in the Racor fuel system, which one do you use? Is now a good time to do it, or should I just wait for the reg. return?
I really could kick myself in the ass for not going to your shop while I was down in GA about a month ago, I Have a cummins and I know you don't work on them but I'm sure you are a wealth of knowledge in the diesel world. Would have been cool to meet a guy that knows so much about power strokes even tho I don't own one, I watch these videos all the time!!
What company do you use for the regulated return, or do you make your system, if you do is it available for sale through your shop?
Can you bring it by so we can verify that the work has been done.
If all I ever did was the fuel return and coolant return upgrades, how far would that go in eliminating the head gasket/oil cooler/egr cooler issues? Have you given thought on designing a better egr cooler system as opposed to an egr delete? How about a egr filtration system to prevent the coking/carbon issues? As long as Ford keeps making trucks, my kids will never go hungry. Awesome videos. Justin
we have not dynoed theset up. BUT the owner of the truck in the vid got stopped in South Alabama running 92 pulling a 40 ft toy hauler. AND he said that it still had more in it.
I have never seen one for PowerStroke so I have no opinion. I very impressed with the Mishimoto product.
It increases throttle response but little more. If you want true performance improvement then you need to consider a regulated fuel return system.
The injectors tips do seat in a hot spot but circulating the fuel want help cool the tips because at that point. The fuel is only flowing one way.
Bill, Do you have a link to the bulletproof video? I cant seem to find it? Thanks!
Bill, in the video, you stated straight exhaust will decrease MPG on a stock engine. I bought my 03 6.0 w/ 4" silverline with kitty and muff. Its not true 4" though, down pipe is 3.5" I removed the kitty and muff, shortly thereafter lost an injector, replaced all injectors w/ a used set then realized Ive lost 3 MPG. I am running a stage 1 in-line module (Dr. Performance) and an airaid intake. MPG loss because of Exhaust or injectors
Well done, I thought that you were not recommending AMS Oil? I know things ether prove there self's over time. Has Ams oil failed?
Dozer's diesel had an excellent system with bigger feed lines.
I use the Raycor for cost and availability.
so if you say free flowing exhaust will lower mpg what do you recommend putting on the exhaust? Cat, muffler, resonator?
I'm quite sure that this filter will work on a 7.3 also.
I'm looking for an 05-07 6.0 and wondered what's involved in a basic bulletproofing, cost to perform that procedure, etc.

+skullhart 05-07 6.0L, Ford fixed most of those issues by then. Only when performance mods are used or when performing heavier than rated work do you need to do all that to those models. As this man has stated in a dozen videos.
Sweet!
Whats your opinion on Cummins and Duramax engines? Just curious.
Look do the basics like the regulated return. Radiator, intercooler, and filters can be done after the fact and they are easy to install. Do the other stuff later when you can afford them.
hey bill, i am replacing my stock turbo which has gone bad. which company do you recommend for an upgraded turbo charger? thanks
have a question hope you can help,,i have 2003 f350 6.0 was driving for 5 hours other day slowed down for a toll booth and truck just died,no obvious signs of power lose before hand, lights ,radio etc. will crank over but not fire ,friend said maybe crank shaft sensor,,nedd some ideas before i get into it .pulled code uo155 aswell.thank you for your help
looks super sweet man 5 star for sure, ive done the bulletproofing method you've explained, (arp head studs, egr cooler, and oil cooler) on a 2004 6.0, and for some reason i keep getting a low boost code, ive checked over everything for leaks and still the code keeps coming back, @ 2000 rpm im getting 15psi, im not sure where its supposed to be at. but at least there's no more oil in the damn cooling system haha
Would the ICP sensor or IPR valve throw a code? And happen on occasion? Mine doesn't throw a code when it happens.
They got roads the will carry you here. I have done several trucks from Canada, usually on their way to Disney World
I have a 2008 6.4l, Where is the best place to put the Bypass Oil filter? There doesnt seem to be any room in the engine compartment for it like the 6.0l has..
how much do you charge to bulletproof and gorilla proof a 6.0
Hello. Love your vids. I own a 6.0 2005 f250. What is the ruff estimate for a EGR delete, apr head studs, upgraded fuel pump, and upgraded fuel injectors. Called u today left message at 8 am Saturday 11-23-13. Thanks.
i have a 06 f250 i had it bulletproofed and the FICM with all injectors done now i have just put a new fuel pump and cleaned out the fuel tank and lines now it will run good when it is not in gear but when you put it in gear it loses all power and dies what do you think is going on???
Can you do this and bullet proof the 6.4 as well? How about the 6.0 Performance Upgrades, can you put those on the 6.4 as well?
No 7.3s like the bigger exhaust. The 6.0s with the variable geometry turbo need a more back pressure to work correctly.
I am assuming you have a 6.0. You need to open the side of the fuel conditioning module (get a new gasket from Ford) and clean it with brake cleaner.
I've been having a weird issue on my 6.0. Its stock. But it runs great and at random times it will rev up a couple hundred rpms n back down really fast just a quick spurt of throttle all on its own. Then it will drop rpms in the same manner. Then if I punch it it usually goes away for a while. Any idea.?? I had it plugged in and everything's fine and it doesn't throw a code at all.
I'm looking at a 2005 6.0 with 170k on it and its stock, but it has a 4 year warranty, what should i look for and is it still possible to make good HP with a 6.0 and have it last? will the 6.0 run with the 6.6 duramax when tuned?
Bill, off topic but I can't get a good answer. I have a 97 7.3 and just performed a fpr mod using a BB. (i tested at 40psi at idle) I know this is the shade tree mechanic way of doing this. After the mod I test at 75psi. Is this too high? Am I at risk of unseating injector o-rings? So far it's idling really smooth. No leaks.
mishimoto also makes an intercooler. It is ~$546 at riffraff diesel. NUCmotorsports also makes an amsoil bypass kit cheaper than amsoil
You need to open shops in Ontario and Alberta Canada. If not for the profit margins, do it for me. I would love to have your shop do my 6.4!!!

I agree I'm outta Edmonton ab
Im getting my f350 to you asap!!
It is not necessary to Oring the 7.3 heads but the intercooler, mishimoto radiator and regulated return fuel upgrade can do nothing but help.
where do you get the trans temp gauge at
Same idea, but the fire rings are actually much thicker. AND more expensive.
hey powerstrokehelp, I have a 2007 F350 6.0 with 160 km, has new heads, arp headstuds, all new injectors, sinsister EGR cooler. I do not haul anything, more concerned with speed and fuel economy, what do you recommend for motor oil, tuners and injector cleaner ?
FMC did it is called the 6.7 Scorpion. BUT for the folks that are stuck with the 6.0, I have invented options and procedures to make the 6.0 dependable and powerful.
By the way when your windshield wipers hit. Lmao. Sounds like someone really ripped one. Lol
CL has stuff for sale every day.
how are you doing sir i wanna ask you about something which is i took off the muffler from my 05 f250 6.0 after i took it off the turbo sometimes doesn't work is it from the muffler?
I have a stock 2005 6.0 with 4" turbo back exhaust and coolant filter and started to notice my coolant and oil temps get about 20-25* appart while driving down the highway at 70 with my AC on outside temp is around 90*. If I slow it down in the city or let it idle they go back to within 2-5* of each other. Is this something that I should be worried about?
I need to see it to be sure but it sounds like an ICP sensor or possibly an IPR valve.

My 6.0 has a horrible knocking sound that speeds up with the RPMS. A hollow sound.....please for the love of god, tell me it will be alright
All sounds good...but youre only getting 5k miles out of Amsoil oil changes???
For the most part 6.4L up grades are the same. Being direct injection the Regulated Fuel Return does not apply, but a Mishimoto radiator is a must on a 6.4

Hey I really want to get my 2007 Ford F-250 6.0 XLT crewcab bulletproofed can you give me a Estimate because I’m located in hinesville Ga about 4 hours away from you guys pretty far drive what would you recommend I do ??
Bill why not recommend the Davco Fuel processors? They have different micron ratings as low as 2 micron, fuel filters can be purchased with the water membrane as an additional precaution, you can have a water sensor installed as an option, these really are not that much either. You can see the filter too and know when its time to change.
Buy this man a beer.
