Here's what happened to Ninos: Overall, Nino’s Italian restaurant seemed to be doing good after the Ninos Kitchen Nightmares episode, though they didn’t keep all of the changes from Gordon Ramsay, and they had mixed reviews because of the changes and the food itself. Sadly, Vincenzo, the original founder of the restaurant, passed away in 2014. This led the family to eventually close Nino’s Restaurant in 2016, around three years after the Kitchen Nightmares episode aired on TV, and it was due to personal reasons like the family's father passing away and wanting to spemd more time to spend with each other. So they didn't close down because of financial issues. When Ninos announced that their going to vlose its doors, fans throughout the cournty flew over just to have a meal. And it was so busy that the resurant somtimes ran out of food in the morning! Even more sadly, Inge also passed away in 2021. I was sad to hear of Vincenzo and Inge’s passing and I wish the family the best in their future endeavors. As of 2023, the old Nino’s Long Beach CA location is occupied by a coffee shop and wine bar. However, the property was demolished and rebuilt completely new, so the old Nino’s building is gone.

Nah by the end of it, i actually liked nino over mike. Nino proved to be valuable and actually capable despite the first 30 minutes of deflection and lies. Mike couldn’t actually run anything. In fact he ran out at the end.

This is such a legendary episode. Everything is a perfect storm of chaos that all mixes together into sheer gold. It honestly rivals Amy’s Baking Company in terms of sheer memorability. The poor food, the singular “Meat Ball”, Michael’s endless snide remarks and wit, Nino’s obsession with cleaning and the fact he has photos of himself cleaning to prove that he does it, Nino’s weirdly confrontational and bizarre behaviour, Nino popping up at random to bother Gordon while he tries to eat, the wonderfully sweet Mother and of course the immortal “MY NAME’S NIIIIINNOOOO”. This is not only one of the best episodes of Kitchen Nightmares but dare I say, one of the greatest episodes of television ever filmed

Nino's success lasted for another three years after the show aired, and would have kept going if not for family issues. They said the restaurant wasn't the same without Dad. The father, Vincenzo passed away at the age of 90, and the mother at 82, was retired. They closed the restaurant down in 2016, to spend the remaining family years together, rather than working. Nino's is now a coffee and wine bar.

"If Nino wasn't our Son, he wouldn't be working here" so be a good parent and after a warning or two, fire him. If he has no easy money he will find work. If he gets into hardship, you can still give him money to help him, but he isn't ruining your business anymore.

Anyone else remember when this channel would end videos with the "Hello, my names Nino!" Soundbite?

nino totally proving how good and often he cleans when gordon finds about 10 pieces of gum stuck under his table alone..... don´t want to think how many would be under the other tables

Inge is such a wonderful woman, she is so kind and always in a good mood. Her accent is so lovely, I directly noticed that she has to be from germany. We must protect her at all costs

This was filmed in July 2012, Nino was 59 (and 60 "pretty soon"). So he is 69 now, and this was season 6 episode 9. NICE.

Gordon Ramsay is an amazing person. I love this show, and I love this legendary episode, a classic 🤣

this is the funniest episode of kitchen nightmares, no matter how many times i watch it i still burst out laughing. so many iconic moments such as nino claiming to clean every day since 8AM despite the fact that there are still visible cobwebs around, him slapping down pictures of himself cleaning on gordon's table to prove he's actually cleaning, the one meat ball, nino teleporting to gordon's table when he got served that eggplant dish, everything being made last friday, i could go on it's all so funny.

Mike bummed me out in the end, but it's understandable given Nino's track record. From what I see in the comments I know they reverted to the old menu and they're closed now, but I hope everyone was happy for a while. Sad to learn the mom and dad passed away. Inge was so sweet and supportive.

From what I have read from the comments, the customers themselves wanted the old menu back, but the quality was much better than what was served before Gordon came (which is probably more important than the menu itself)

No, he was wrong. He tolerated the circumstances for too long, waiting for someone else to come in and help him against Nino when in reality Nino was an existential threat to the business. @@BlueBizen

I grew up going to Nino's. I lived two blocks away. Moved away in 2000. Sad to see its decline :(

I feel like Michael was expecting Nino to quit so he could take over, so was frustrated when he didn't.

“Im Nino!” Ive scene this oposite & clip several times & it never gets old 😂. The growth of Nino & complete stubbornness of Mike surprised me. As much as he claimed he wanted his brother to step up I don’t think he did. I think he liked being the “good son” & having a scapegoat.

I don't think its that necessarily. He's probably been burned by Nino and seen his parents burned by him so many times, he doesn't believe he will ever change. And seeing everyone laud him in the end felt like a slap in the face. He's kind of like the other son in the Bible parable, the prodigal son.

The way Nino teleports next to Gordon as he looks up at him like 😮

Mother is German, father is Italian, one of the sons looks like Mussolini the other looks like Heinrich himmler.

@@florianritter147 I could tell she's German the moment she started talking. Maybe she spoke a dialect in German and that's where the "weirdness" comes from? Still sounds very German to me. Only thing slightly weird is how they all pronounced her name, Inge. I never heard someone say it like that.
