And you can make an "authentic" English breakfast? This man is an absolute BEAST in the kitchen and is brave and bold and talented enough to step out of his traditional comfort zone and make his version of "traditional" foods. Let's see you try to imitate an Indian style breakfast. I'll wait. Your abueltia made huevos rancheros the way she knew and probably with a different presentation because of lack of resources or talent or because she was just making her nietos and nietas breakfast on the go. Welcome to culinary talent. Elegant presentation. The 20th century. There are now modern kitchens and not just leña and a macho abusive husband demanding desayuno to cure the cruda with. If our ancestors never died, we'd still be living in pyramids or Mayan temples. Chef Ramsey just created a beautiful dish and was generous enough to share it with you. You're welcome, India. Go give your abuelita her chancla back and tell her she is on her way out of this world and her views and ideas are no longer relevant, as new minds are coming. Make way!!

Idk why people get so emotional when it comes to mixing up traditional dishes. People in different parts in Mexico do it differently as well. My mom's version of this is way more simple and deep fried. Those were delicious growing up and Ramsey won't take that away from me. But if I can make my mom's version better, why the fuck not?

@@rme1383 I don't think there was anything wrong because huevos rancheros are really just eggs over a tortilla accompanied by a sauce. On the other hand, as a Mexican myself, I also felt this cringe feeling over me throughout the entire video. We Mexicans have a sense of pride over what we let others call "authentic Mexican" and if it doesn't suit what we were raised with growing up, then we bash on it. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not.

We live very close to different farms and take our time to prepare things, even a simple tomato sauce that can be shop, we just do it with fresh ingredients. I love how this chefs cooks, and he can reinvent food whatever he wants, but this is not accurate 💁

Chili Poppa it's about presentation, which Gordon accomplishes by not splashing sauce all over the plate and adding all those white boy garnishes. Makes something that looks like vomit when *I* serve it into somethig more Michelin-starred.

If Gordon showed my grandma this she would probably say gracias and eat it because it looks delicious and has had care and effort put into it. She's not an arrogant ass who refuses to eat or acknowledge people's attempt at cooking Mexican food. Rather, she celebrates that a dish such as this is enjoyed all over the world, and being snide about a variation on a recipe which has no agreed upon original recipe is pathetic.

Like, all the Mexicans here are complaining about not being traditional without understanding that the art of cooking begins on creating a perfect mixture of flavors on a single plate. It doesn't matter how spicy our sauces are traditionally, or how we are used to some recipes, you are complaining about your own perspective in mexico and not considering the rest of the world's tastes and flavors. Doesn't matter how much spice you can manage in mexico that doesn't mean something will taste better, because there is a balance.
