I’m impressed! The torta actually looked good! He had real Mexican chorizo and the o.g. Oaxaca cheese…he made choriqueso😊. Plus, the salsa looked like it was probably made by a nice señora. So nice job Gordon putting it all together! Also, Gino is hilarious 😂

lol as a Mexican, the Mexicans in the comments are losing the plot pretty much nothing Gordon Ramsay makes is going to be "authentic", it's about doing a creative play on a culinary tradition intended for a global audience. like if he did a video about making a banh mi, doubt it would be 100% true to regular Vietnamese street food, because that's not the point!

I am from Costa Rica, and I will not cry just because Gordon cannot cook a "Gallo Pinto" the same way my mom does. That is incredibly stupid. He is not a tico like me, and has not lived 40+ years in the country. It is like getting angry for a mexican trying to brew a tea. The fact that there is some stupid people out there that really think that years and years and years, even generations of mexican food, and preparation are gonna get absorbed in a lifetime without specializing in the mexican cuisine is just stupid af. If my fellow ticos start crying like the mexicans here, I would feel ashamed. Damn, I feel ashamed already and I don't live there.

Well, but he put onion in that dish, so the flavor was going to get lower. Sometimes the chorizo is dryer than others, so you need a little bit of oil. Also, the flavors change with/without oil, so you need to try out.

I was finally happy that Gordon Ramsey made a recipe that actually looks mexican, and then he invited an italian to make a salad that was invented in Tijuana, to make his own version of it, just cuz the salad has an italian name.... You were just minutes away from the place where they cook it the original way, were it was invented, less than 20 mins away from where you were! But, you finally made a mexican dish the right way, not a complicate one, but the right way, so I'll take that.

@THE ONE And perfected and mastered, by Mexicans in the same restaurant, since the death of that Italian chef... It's like if someone asks me to prepare Nachos or Chili con Carne, I'm going to be able to make them, because they were invented by a Mexicans, most probably in Mexico (and I'm a good cook, btw).. but we don't prepare them here. Those are a Tex-mex dishes... If you want the real deal for those dishes, go to Texas (U.S, not Mexico)... Same with the Caesars salad, if you are in Tijuana, go to the Caesars Hotel to get the real deal... or at least call the cook from that place.

Amazing discipline from Gordon, resisting the temptation of taking a bit of the Queso Oaxaca (or Queso de hebra, as it's called in my state), but I guess even for the best chefs it's impossible not to take a bit of that crunchy chicharrón hahahaha

One of my favourite international chefs. I was gifted with his recipe book in 2012 and he has been one of my motivations to start my own cooking channel.

Now everytime I´ll prepare a Chorizo Torta, I´m gonna feel like a chef

Loved it! This is different, but looks delicious😘

Far off in the background are the pallet wood houses next to the Amazon warehouse. Very cool to see Chef Ramsey cooking Mexican food 👍
