The camera didn't pan, the shot changed completely. Probably to a different camera. "Panning" is when the camera itself moves, but the shot is the same. Similar to looking around with your eyes. Just a tip.

Honestly, if they wanted to, they could have just edited in a shot of a medium-rare steak. In all honesty, it's super easy to fake something like that, which is why Gordon's crew probably didn't even bother with the close up.

He's such a pro. Notice how he rarely looks at the camera? He's not performing for you-he's a master craftsman just doing his craft. And he's not doing it any different than if he were making a steak for himself, he's just narrating as he goes. As others have said his passion for cooking and food comes through naturally. Good stuff.

I made this last night exactly as Gordon said. I don't have any thyme so I didn't add that. It was gorgeous, I used this recipe with an M&S rump steak. You couldn't taste any butter, garlic, salt or pepper which is right (if you know what I mean). It was perfectly blended, you could just taste the meat and it was juicy. I say that because it looks like a lot of salt and butter. Honestly, give this exact recipe a go, you will be well impressed. I added my own peppercorn sauce and served with roast new potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables. Using Gordon's guide, I cooked one steak medium rare and the other steak rare. What a dinner, 10 out of 10. Enjoy everyone and thank you Mr Ramsay 😋

I did do the techniques Gordon did in a way of using plastic tings instead of metal. 1 was for me and 1 was for my dad. I enjoyed every bite of that steak I made too, even the tendons. Mine was cooked medium and my dad was cooked medium rare. I’m so proud to trying this for the first time and succeeding too. Thank you Gordon for this recipe for steak and goodnight.

asian dude some chefs insist that you only flip a steak once during cooking, which is nonsense. As long as the pan is hot enough, the steak has good contact with the pan and you don’t move the steak too much, flipping each minute can develop a good charred crust/sear AND an evenly cooked centre.

Thats the point, he does not need to, because it is perfect anyway, he does not need to waste our time by showing it. Also it all depends how you like it, he said it, yiu cook it depending how yiu like it, so why bother showing medium rare if you like It welldone. He is professional not a dumb ass youtuber. I love shirt cooking videos, so straight forward.

Believe it or not, I found this video useful. I got a small package of tenderloin steaks at the supermarket. I live by myself and I figured if I paid $10 for a package of steaks and broke it into 4 portions it would come to $2.50 per steak that I eat. I cook fairly well but had never really cooked a tenderloin steak and found this just to be what I needed to be able to turn out a good one.

It's nice to know I cook my just like his I just don't use thyme and prefer a medium rare steak. I have different ways to cook different steaks but this is my go to method with the salt, garlic, a little oil to start and butter half way through. A good method of cooking with a pan is using a lid to hold heat so you don't over cook the outside trying to cook the inside. Also keeps juices from going everywhere.

Mark's recipe for medium steak is : season one side with Keg seasoning salt and then with Montreal steak spice, put about four drops of olive oil on the meat and pat it all over with your hand, flip steak over and repeat. Put it on a barbecue on high heat 500 degrees or max) for 3 1/2 minutes until you see trails of whitish smoke and then flip it over and cook it for another 3 minutes (apply barbecue sauce on the side you just cooked if you wish). The oil serves to keep the spices stuck to the meat and keep the juices inside...makes a nice tasty, juicy medium steak every time!
