Me too.
I gotta tell you, any country that produces people like Rick Danko and Richard Manuel is awesome.
God Bless , GORDON !!! A CANADIAN ICON !!! KEEP WELL , GORDON !!!
Great interview. Gordon is not only a legend but a national treasure. He has shaped Canada indelibly - the mark he has left will not soon be forgotten. His music has been a cornerstone of my life - and helped get a sense of what being Canadian really means.

This is a great interview very informative and interesting on behalf of both the host and Gordon
What a gentle and humble man. I like it when older artists like Gordon still do live shows because they are so skilled at what they do, they make it look easy. You feel like you are listening to an old friend. When I listen to people like Gordon and Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, who are such great writer/composers, it makes me proud to be Canadian.
What a great interview, Gordon has been a great influence on my perspective and my guitar playing. RIP the legend lives on🙏
Saw him lice last weekend. It was such an honour to see this legend play live. Sadly I doubt he will tour ever again.
MR Lightfoot is obviously an intelligent man.He had a serious bout(s)w/alcoholism which affects a lot of celebrities, but thankfully he recovered.......Long ,peaceful life sir!!
People need to start looking deeper than skin...looks and youth are not everything. A lot needs to be said about wisdom that can only come with time.
I just was had at...If you could read my mind.....will see him whenever he comes to town.....have see him everywhere...and always a best nite.....Thanks Gord.....a wonderful man...and humble....but what an artillery of songs...I'm told you wanna help your daughter in the music bus.... was surprised you told her sure...put your head to the rhinestone...and give me a finished song...how awesome....
I saw him in Santa Rosa and he was hypnotic
Thanks for keeping this posted up George. I watched your interviews for years when I lived in Lincoln Park on channel 9 in Windsor. (Writing this in Kraków Poland where I currently reside)-I passed GL driving with the top down in a red Corvette several decades ago in the Michigan Upper Penninsula. He was apparently after an appearance at the Whitefish Point Shipwreck Museum. For years the museum played his song on a loop for the visitors...I plan to go back to visit the states and the Soo-soon too! RIP Gordon.
I fell in love with Gordon in 1969----and he is still right there in my heart
Love watching & Listenning to Gordon talk as well as Sing......:)
I've been a fan since I first heard "In the early morning rain" back in the early '60's. Dammit! I wanted more of that.
I used to see him every year in Ft. Lauderdale. Every concert was amazing. And his band was so professional! James R. Nelson author of The Black Orchid Mystery.
Thank you Gordon. Thank you.
Absolutely love his music. Most recently, saw him at the historic Majestic Theater in San Antonio... February, 2009, I think. GREAT performance in such a beautiful, unusual venue.
"Fundamental material" indeed! 40 years of it. Thanks Gordon... and thanks for uploading this interview.
When I first saw Gordon play live, I was blown away by the power that his acoustic show presented. BAM- it just left the dock at full tilt. It was rock band powerful, with this delicacy and dynamic that was unique. God bless you, man!
What a humble man. Great interview. If he comes to Australia, I'm there!
Very nice to see this interview with Gordon Lightfoot. I love his songs already a long time but here in the Netherlands it is very seldom that Lightfoot is on television. So thanks to youtube we have here the chance to see him and his songs on video. Thank you for uploading.
Thanks for all the songs, music, and vocals. You are the all around Man and a great tribute to Canada.Spent a lot of hours listening to your tapes in the truck over the years. We spent a lot of time together with you and enjoyed every bit of it.It's great to go back and visit with you.Great interviews George..you Are the man,Many thanks.

He was the man saw him in concert over 30 years ago and he was great. What a nice man raised money for the families of the Edmund Fitzgerald victims and keeping in touch with them. I love his music and his distinctive voice and his lyrics tell a story not like the profanity and stupid senseless lyrics that the kids listen to today.
Love dearly love his music. God Bless also his wonderful musicians over the years. I loved Red Shea too!

AGREED with Red Shea's flatpicking (and other playing) , and Pee Wee Charles is one helluva pedal steel player as well!
Gordon Is the best songwriter From Canada I grew up listening to Him I enjoyed all his albums .
Great ro hear this Canadian legend soooo canadian sooo cool
What a great guy...What a GREAT interview.... Gordon rules!!!!
saw his show at Queen E. Theatre Vancouver BC early90's - fantastic show
Tony Rice, an American icon bluegrass singer/musician, loved Gordon's folk and played some of them. Thanks for this Strombo.
Good point. What you describe is really touching. I felt the same "vibe" of love and appreciation in the air at the concert I went to. I'm a big fan of the 50s era, so I'm kind of used to concerts by artists who are past their peak. The fact that he wrote those songs and brought them to us in the first place, is enough.
Thanks Gordon...Peace
a gentleman and talent!
Oh man when Mr. Lightfoot had that hemerage a while back, I was scared shitless we were gonna lose him. He's my favourite artist, and I got great appreciation for his music.
Mr Gordon Lightfoot . Wonderful musician, wonder career. This is September 2022 which means you are now 84 years old. May you remain healthy and wise . A real Canadian landmark.
Gordon has always beena great song writer and entertainer ever since his first preformences at the Orillia Opera House, he is the pride of Orillia (my hometown, and his) Long Live Lightfoot
I'm going to see him in May in Columbia, SC. I'm trying to promote the show to everyone that I know. It is a small venue and it would be great to see it sell out. Tickets are cheap for a talent like this. One of my favorites.
Gordon Lightfoot is a LEGEND. I own a ton of his albums, and each are just awesome.
MR GORDON LIGHTFOOT;Strictly Top Shelf!!
Good interview, thanks for posting. Saw him in concert tonight at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. Thankful to be in the presence of greatness and even though he is very thin and his voice is frail and fragile, it still was a wondrous occasion. Love you Gord forever you Minstrel of the Dawn.
God Bless Gordon, you are in the league with many as singers and song writers. Tom T. Hall never had the voice and story combination like you do. You are legendary.
love the lightfoot interview ive always been a huge lightfoot man exelent work ...thank you from raptoreagle
I am such a fan of this great musician as well. Yeah, I'd like to meet him too. Happily, I was able to take in almost all of his his performances here in Edmonton. Always a class act. Perfect performances by him and his band. There's no one like him. thank you for bringing this interview to us. He gave very few interviews in his younger day...this is great.
I have been watching a few Hour interviews, and they're all good, but this one, ... I just think Gordon is real. Thanks.
14 yrs ago this was posted? Really? I met Gordon: he was lovely and down to earth and truly a treasure and Blessings to all!
Gordon Lightfoot and Red Shea were some of the best guitarists in their time.

I agree. Gordon's lyrics, songs, and voice are great.
@andyofinbar true. He is very open to other emerging musicians, such as myself, back in 1993 with Paul Stookey, when I opened for them. I shoulda listened and stuck with Folk Music. As far as Folk Musicians go, Gordon Lighfoot is one of the best.
