Just got back in the house from Gordon's Show at the Ryman in Nashville (My 10th time to see him). Oh my goodness - the MAN still has it. The voice not as strong, some higher notes have been dropped, but my goodness, what a musical/lyrical hero this gentleman is. Hard to believe I have been listening to him for 42 years now. WOW! Gordon, I love you man - God bless you!

In winter 1981 , I was 18 years old and it was freezing cold. I was bored and walked in a department store. I had only 1 german Mark. I could not buy anything for it, but I saw a sign "Every cassette 1 Mark". So I checked all the tape cassettes. I found only singers that I did not know, including Gordon Lightfood.. I was thinking the guy looks friendly, so I bought it. And it was the best buy of my life! Since then, I am a big fan of this fine person! He made me many times happy! Thank you!

I've been to 3 of your concerts, spanning 25 years ... I owned so many of your LPs I lost count. You're Canadian gold.

Anyone who truly loves Gordon Lightfoot loves him at any age. He's still a fine man and a great performer. The years he shows are the worth of his life which is greater than most people's lives. I'll take age before beauty any day! He is still handsome to me! He's a good, kind man. He's done a lot for the families of the Edmund Fitzgerald. An older man often knows true value. Young men still have to learn this and it comes w/ experience which comes w/ time.

Learned today that he just passed. Gordon was not a fav. in my youth but as I grow older I see more & more how HUGE the man was as leading Folk Music. Influenced Dylan, Baez, J Denver, PP& Mary ,,,even Elvis Presley. So studious in researching the history of his ballad legends and writer & singer of beautiful (maybe sad ) heartfelt songs. No replacing him !! but we can still enjoy his songs , videos and LIFE, cheers all !

I'm a big fan of the 50s era, so I'm kind of used to concerts by artists who are past their peak. The fact that he wrote those songs and brought them to us in the first place, is enough.
