Restaurant owners really do need to be familiar with their food. They may not be cooking it, but ultimately they're the ones selling it. They should taste everything on the menu at some point (except foods to which they're allergic, of course), and be able to describe/recommend dishes.

I do get the sense of some editing shenanigans. I doubt he was literally at the bar the entire time like they made it seem. But it doesn’t really matter because he shouldn’t spend ANY time at the bar.

I love how Gordon sees how bad Eric is but convinced the owners to “give him Another try”, next segment Gordon introduces a mixed grill- he knew what he was doing!

Gordon helped the owner move on. He found closure somewhat and then he could go back to the construction industry for himself, instead of carrying on a restaurant for his brother which is a beautiful sentiment but wasn't truly for himself. Amazing what a change on the inside can do.

I love how he looks up to the camera and says wow. In the first second I am wondered like does this actually taste good? But then he just adds a "that is fucking disgusting" a moment later 😂 I love this scenes. Imagine going to a restaurant and describe the food as "fucking disgusting" 😂😂😂

The sheer amount of people in this show that don't deserve the help they receive is amazing. The bare minimum includes just simply being nice to people. How does she fuck that up so consistently???

The fact Gordon brought in his people, top of their game and paid their wages. Wow. What a guy. I saw Enda at the London. He is an amazing maitre D. The energy that chef brought with him was so good. When he said it’s for you Joe was so touching.

His mannerisms are quite polished and his accent is quite rustic. I can see how he can make you at ease. The chef was really there not only for his own pride, but for the owner's success. Top head chef material

Just shocks me. The one thing in the world I cannot do very well is cook, but I know how to keep my fridge clean and throw out expired food and just maintain basic ass standards

I love that Gordon interviews people with a camcorder while a camera crew is following him around 😆

Eric eating popcorn and smiling at people saying how shit he is in the cam footage is the level of scumbaggery that sets a bar, lol.

I would go just to have the experience, I would want to prove to myself I can tell bad food from good lol 😆 or just to prove Gordon has bouji taste buds. Either way I'd enjoy the experience

it's so sad to know that they closed after only a few weeks when the owners didn't do much of a fault with the restaurant. the only thing they needed was someone to tell them about the chef but it was too late

Watching Kitchen Nightmares really makes me appreciate the quality of food that ordinary chain steakhouses like Outback and Texas Roadhouse offer.

I love how when the owner or chef tells that they’re not doing a certain wrong thing, the camera instantly cuts to them doing exactly that.

I love that Gordon does market research with a crappy camcorder... and a large camerateam.

That new chef was SO GOOD great teamworker and great food

Gordan is everything

Whoever produces this show is a genius. They always capture the best B-role footage to help create some form of quaint geographical ambience for the viewer. Chef Ramsay was built for the television. And he’s surprisingly terrific with relationship advice. Great show, I wish they’d resume production after COVID-19.

I love when there's a scared and arrogant chef who, straight away, is like "my food's great, the best, and I'm not afraid of Gordon. If he says anything bad about my food I'll probably pop him in the jaw cos I'm so tough" and then when Gordon inevitably says something bad about the food, because no good chef would compensate that hard so their food is always bad, the chef just sits there looking angry or storms out like a child It's hilarious, they act so tough to the camera but say nothing tough to Gordon

Crab cakes are an easy way to tell whether the restaurant uses fresh or canned food, the same goes for ravioli. Additionally, a home made ravioli would tell Gordon what the chefs taste and ability is like

God, a restaurant that asks if they can take your coat, and then tells you that you have to leave it by the front to eat even when you say no, gives me so much second hand frustration it's insane.
