Our pleasure Raven! Thanks for tuning in.
Will have to try the rockfish for my next purchase. I can say that my hailbut and my cod boxes were absolutely amazing quality. Everything packaged in 1 pound packs...some of those cod fillets were monsters in length (6-8 inch in length) where the halibut were thick as a t-bone steak. Totally worth the price. For those wondering about shipping....everything was a Fedex next day...and in both boxes, every fillet arrived frozen solid as a rock. I had them shipped from EIS in Alaska to as far south in Texas as you can get without being in Mexico and it arrived in less than 24 hours. Quality stuff. I will buy again.

How about putting together a by-catch box for those of us that know what to do with it ?? Say, a few yellow eye, a halibut or 2, a couple ling cod topped off with a rockfish and one of those beautiful octopus ?? Would LOVE a box like that !

Thats a great idea Connie, we will have to take a look at what we can do. The by-catch is a bit of a hurdle because we don’t always have them in stock. Thanks for the comment.

How do you overnight? Sure this is on your list for warmer weather, paint the door. Nice trip.
@EISAlaska
3 жыл бұрын
We do alright, gets cold at night but our boat is pretty small inside so the oil stove does the trick, as well as residual engine heat. Yea, the door needs a good splash of paint, along with a few other things. Thanks, Robert.

Rock fish look a little like black sea bass we fish for in NY/NJ waterways. Do they test similar to sea bass? Also, are the shipped as filets??
@EISAlaska
2 жыл бұрын
I couldn't say if they taste similar or not, however they quite delicious. No fishy flavor, mild flakey meat. They are sold as boneless, skinless fillets.

Did you replace a down rigger motor, one of them is not blue.
@EISAlaska

Actually, that's the last one I need to breakdown and overhaul. We were hoping to score a new one to cycle it out, its our oldest motor now.
Why do you sometimes put the rockfish in the hold and other times in bins?
@EISAlaska
3 жыл бұрын
The tote we slide forward to put into the other hold, its a different species we have to keep them separate.
I think it was Steven Rinella who said, "If we treated cows the way we treat fish, people would freak out." I'm not saying anything negative, just food for thought.
@EISAlaska

I dont know which fishing industry Steve is referring to, but different operations have different levels of care for their product. We’re small potatoes here, we have different standards than say a trawler catching 50 tons of fish per tow. Just as a small open pasture rancher is different than an industrial scale feed lot and slaughter house. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye.
are you anchoring up or drifting?
Please get a wind guard
Just wondering why didn't you pack rock fish in totes like other videos????
How the price of your jig set machine sir and where I can buy.

Just a quick google of "bandit reel" brought up this: alltackle.com/waterman-industries-bandit-reel-electric-12v-w-aluminum-spool/ You'd have to do some shopping around.
What is the limit of rockfish for commercial fisherman? I am totally ignorant and do not know how this is managed.
How come this Fish alive for so long even after they out of water and being cut

This channel is amazing, as a life long recreational fisherman (California) who is on the water every week I really enjoy what you are doing here. I’ve learned a lot as well...like “Rockfish Ceviche”...When we fish them here they are all in fish tacos. I do fish in Alaska (Petersberg) and love it. Well done on this channel....
