@Staying Sober winning an Oscar isn't much more impressive than getting nominated, a nomination is usually equivalent, the only difference is usually literally bribery, luck etc. This is kind of a common view as well, hasn't exactly been fucked over by Hollywood when everyone has equal respect and high opinion of him with it without multiple wins.
We didn't lose one person when Robin died... We lost hundreds.

This scene's already great, but serious props to the dedication by both the writing and Williams' acting to sell the idea that he's really doing this in '65. When he's pulling out such era-specific zingers like "The Wicked Witch of the North, Hanoi Hannah!" and "It's so damn hot, I saw this little guy with an orange robe burst into flame!" so damn quickly, it feels so authentic that it's like there's no separation of time from when the movie was made (1987) to when it's supposed to take place (1965).

Still the best to date. Surprising you couldn’t get away with it on radio these days
Man his talent knew no bounds. I've been a fan of his for years and regret never getting to see him live doing stand up.
A unique Human being, sorely missed!. Even though I know all the lines, still makes me laugh, no matter how many times I watch this movie!. Thanks Robin for this and everything else you gave us!. RIP. Nuff said.
We’ve entered.. the demilitarized zone.. *AHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
If only he knew now how much we all miss him. Unmatched man and entertainer.
Robin Williams. Rest in peace. The great ones always seem to go too soon. Rest easy sir, and thank you for all the laughs And greatness you gave us though the big screen.
I LOVE it when Robin asks “Too much?” At the end of his broadcast!!!

To people who don't get the reference, it's about a monk who set himself on fire as a protest to political decisions in South Vietnam in 1963. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_crisis

Years after his death and I'm still mourning the genius we lost.
Still brings tears to my eyes. This one movie was when I met two great men my dad (I was adopted, he was the first to show it to me... the movie) and Robin Williams, I never saw my dad laugh like he did when watching this.. and now both are gone 😭
Always puts a smile on my face..
RIP, Robin Williams!!!! You’re an inspiration of life for me!!!!!
Such a gift. Thank you, Robin! 🙏 ❤

@@mrteaparty6090 I appreciate the genius of how Williams took the script and made the narrative nature of the war a light hearted scope of whirlwind comedic dialog, antics and physical gestures that was truly his genius. Williams stated that the director allowed him to take the script in many scenes and allowed him to inprov the scene/dialog.......He was a master!!!!

undoubtedly one of the greatest movies ever. Robin Williams was an unparalleled comic genius. QEPD
I loved watching this movie at the "$5 theater" in Santa Fe Springs ca. That was the first movie i can remember crying laughing. Like when you cant breathe laughing. One of the best ever.
Mr Robin Williams is top class always has and always will be top class
Still hard to believe that he is gone. He was such a huge talent. Miss him badly
In my mind this one scene was 1 of the best he has ever done in any movie.
If Robin wasn't a comedian he'd have been a great DJ.
God, I miss that man's brilliant humor! RIP Robin.
How many movies he has made that has changed me. I miss u Rob. Hope your cracking people up there too.
There was only ever one actor who could do this scene. Now there is nobody at all. What a genius.
Damn one of best scenes in this movies. RIP Mr. Willliams. I grew watching his movies and they always make me laugh. Thank you for all laughter you gave me.

Mr. Williams was a fucking A C T O R, not a comedian. Disrespectful...
We didn’t deserve a man as great as Robin Williams 🙁
I remember AFR playing these cuts on the radio station when I was stationed in Panama in 1991. I heard Robin made a few hours of material for the movie.
