I received a call from my church earlier this week asking if I would sing at a funeral, and this was one of the songs that was requested. What strikes me is the fact that the despite the pain and loss of the loved one, this song was chosen to communicate who God is to the family and friends of the gathered to pay their respects. Peace in the midst of pain and an eternal joy that is promised in the hands of the Father. He loves you very much. I filmed this in early March of this year before my baby was born, and I'm glad that I didn't edit it until now. Now was the perfect time to release this video. God's timing is always perfect, even though we may not understand it. As we trust Him in uncertain times, we can be certain that He loves us, He cares, and we are His. He will never leave us nor forsake us. The Father loves you. You are loved.

A family that my family knows just lost their 6 year old son to cancer. It seems impossible that it happened. I can't resolve it in my head or wrap my mind around that kind of loss. These kinds of songs take on a much more profound meaning now. How honored you must feel to be asked to sing at someone's funeral, although I know it must also be so difficult. It strengthens my faith to be blessed by others' faithfulness even in the midst of tremendous pain. And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13
