He would literally punch through Floyd and all that defense shit wouldn't work without the fear of the counter right hand

    Brook should not even be in the ring with this guy. I think that he is only there because Hearn had him waiting in the wings; Hearn needed a failsafe to keep GGG facing an opponent in London, which was part of the original contract. Hearn was already annoyed with Eubank Snr (that was already clear in the lead up to Eubank Jr vs Doran) so I think he pulled the plug on the negotiation behind the scenes, got Brook onboard and gave the public the impression that Eubank Jr got cold feet and backed out. Eubank Jr was gunning too hard for that fight, so whatever took place between his father and Hearn had no bearing on Eubank Jr's mindset. Then, out of nowhere, the 147 IBF champ, who has business to handle in his own backyard, is suddenly ready to jump up TWO weight classes, to face the best fighter in that division? With NO tune ups at that weight..and...with all things considered...was willing to sign that contract within TWO days after the first negotiation fell through? LOL. C'mon. This is more than £ signs for Brook; I think that he is trying to find a way out of defending his 147 title against quality opposition. Thurman has been calling him out; Spence is now his mandatory after beating Bundu this past weekend. What better excuse to use, even when losing, to state that he is comfortable at that weight...or intends to go to 154..and as a result...will vacate his 147 title? I like Brook..but honestly he is basically doing the same thing that Khan did; the only difference here, honestly, is that Khan does not have a strap worth acknowledging ('silver' welterweight title? I mean...really?) whereas Brook has a acknowledged title, with credible opposition that he is supposed to face as title defences.

  • @MicoRich

    @MicoRich

    7 жыл бұрын

    Here's my opinion. If Brook is taking a fight with GGG, I can't consider him to be ducking lesser opponents. He's facing the best opponent available and getting paid more than any mandatory or unification fight would pay. As good as Spence could end up being, he's not on GGG's level. Same goes for Thurman. Brook seems eager to take his shot at stardom and I actually believe he thinks he's going to win. You can't truly say that about Khan. This is a matchup of arguably two of the top 15 p4p fighters, who will weigh within 5 pounds of each other on fight night. If everyone put their anger aside, I think people would realize this is one of the best fights of 2016, no doubt. Even if GGG stops Brook early. That just means GGG is a beast, because Kell Brook is really good. On a side note, the fight I want to see as soon as humanly possible is GGG vs. Spence. That would be awesome. I don't care what anyone says that wants to talk about the weight difference. Their styles would result in a war if Spence can take his punch. And a war is what you need to beat GGG. The guys that box from the outside, rarely throwing combinations, have no chance.

  • @Swifthandz7

    @Swifthandz7

    7 жыл бұрын

    Duly noted;; I respect your opinion but, honestly, I disagree. If Brook chooses to face GGG, that does not necessarily mean that he isn't attempting to duck other opponents. The fight with GGG has a pre installed excuse for Brook: 'I went up two weightclasses to face the best fighter in that division..and I did so with no tune ups beforehand, so no surprise at my loss.' By way of that, a loss in this fight will have no bearing on his legacy at welterweight, whereas losing to a fighter within his own division would be the opposite. The same applied to when Khan fought Canelo; in fact, Khan literally stated a lot of what I considered as a 'pre installed excuse' in his post fight interview with Max Kellerman...and..as a result...a lot of the heat and attention has been removed from him at welterweight, in terms of the demand to see him fight the big names in his division at the moment. Where Brook is concerned, when he weas asked about defending his title, he claimed that he is interested in defending it...but in the same interview...went on to say that he is only interested in doing so, if it is a fight that the fans want to see. What is that all about? Brook has never had a problem facing his mandatories in the past...so why is there an associated disclaimer with a title defense against Errol Spence? Pretty clear. There is this constant 'impression' that Spence has to 'prove' himself...but the man just stopped an opponent this past weekend that had never been stopped before, even by Thurman...and has now been ranked as the #1 contender for the IBF title. Not to mention, that Spence had to fight Bundu because the other fighters with higher rankings would not face him...so that in itself shows that there is nothing left to prove. Even Pacquiao could not stop Algieri, yet Spence did..so that excuse is dead in the water now. In terms of GGG stopping Brook early, that achievement would not automatically define GGG as a beast, bro. We are talking about a boosted up welterweight, who is facing a bigger fighter, who is the best in his division, man. LOL. If that was to happen, there would and should be no surprises associated with that. In fact, for as long as GGG has been claiming that no one wants to face him at 160 (even with other fighters calling him out like Lara, Andrade, Ward etc) he should be ashamed to state that Brook, a natural welterweight, is the ''biggest test of his career.'' GGG should have already faced enough quality opposition (by responding to some of those earlier call outs, perhaps?) to avoid having to make a statement like that, at this stage in his career. Regarding your sidenote, with the possibility of Spence fighting GGG, by stating that alone, you have already given some weight to the possibility of Brook attempting to avoid Spence. I don't know how you can say ''As good as Spence could end up being...'' yet be willing to see a match like that as fast as humanly possible. What you are implying is that Spence has not proven himself on one hand...yet on the other hand, Spence could potentially give GGG a war? Gotta clarify that and choose a firm stance, bro...while, at the same time, acknowledge the reason why these divisions exist in the first place..and the significance behind the reason why the champions within them should make every attempt to unify them Personally, where that is concerned, I think that Spence should go for a strap at 147 and make an attempt to unify the division, before even considering a move up to another division...which is, essentially, what Brook really should be doing, anyway.
