You’re a real one for posting this. It’s a very good point about majors, having a concrete measurable goal/objective is very useful tool to be able to lock in. I know for Area 1, Jeremy just wanted to pick spots and remember a sight picture for every target, and on the drive home he was super enthusiastic that he achieved that. Made me realize the same thing you did-having that goal helps you dial in. Good video brotha 🤙🏾

You were safe, and didn’t get DQ’d. Some good accomplishments there man.

From one Alex to another, don’t sweat it brotha. There will be highs and lows and making mistakes just means you have an opportunity to learn from them. Winning is cool, but the journey there is even better. Keep the grind up!

Thanks! Appreciate the encouragement and I’m good. Not my first bad match and likely not my last. Like you said, it’s all part of the journey.

Those look like some really fun stages, and although you're not satisfied with your performance it's definitely better than what I do 😅

Well.... *cracks knuckles* This is an area where you and I are VERY similar in personality and I can tell you this: You missed the mark on what went wrong with your mental state. It wasn't the "no expectations" that got you (that is, in fact the RIGHT mindset to have at a match). It was lack of focus on stage planning and visualization accompanied by letting your emotional state into the stage. I say this with confidence because I felt like I was watching one of my own match videos. I am 100% guilty of this. There are ways to solve those issues but it's way more than I am willing to type into a KZread comment. I think you have my Reddit info. Drop me a message there. I also would love to have you on the Podcast as a guest at some point. You're a the perfect example of the sort of shooter we are trying to reach.

Red, you’re likely not wrong. Mental Management is something I just have not been able to figure out. I have a very busy mind. Always have. I’ve never been officially diagnosed but I’m almost certain I have A.D.D. I’ve been able to manage it with great success in most other aspects of my life but at matches, it’s been a struggle. If I’m honest, I don’t think I’ve made a lot of effort to figure it out. I haven’t really tried to apply the tools I’ve used in other areas to my shooting at matches. It’s not that I don’t care enough, I just haven’t and I can’t really say why. Maybe it’s avoidance. Not sure. I’ll reach out in Reddit to talk more about it and maybe to coordinate the podcast. I think it would be a great topic and would love to discuss and share my perspective.
