Recently, Brandon started shooting USPSA. Here is how he's training up for matches with his Glock for the Carry Optics division. Get out there and shoot a match!

The first time I drank Reign was when a coworker offered me one. Wanting to be polite, but not realizing how intense a drink they can be, I drank almost all of it within the span of 5-10 minutes as we conversed. Proceeded to get sweaty and nauseous from the sudden blast of caffeine, and had to seek water and fresh air afterwards.. so I completely understand, Brandon! Thanks for the video.

this was very well-done, an excellent introduction to training for USPSA. My one point of constructive criticism is that during the shooting-while-moving drills at the end, it appears as if the USPSA "180" rule would have been violated, had this been a stage at a USPSA match. However, I understand that the T-Rex Arms range allows for shooting in more directions than most simple berms, and I'm not in any way questioning what you did from a safety perspective. I think it might help new USPSA shooters to be briefly reminded about this important consideration.

Can someone explain "getting lost in the optic" to me, please? Great video by the way! I have one dot, and I tend to stick to irons just because I feel more comfortable with them. My confidence is just not there when I try to push to my 100% with a dot.
@clutchshot3306
Ай бұрын
Take this for what it's worth from a newbie like myself but what I think he means is that since he was shooting ecluded (put tape on the outside of the dot to where he can't look through it but can still see the dot) he has to focus on blending the 2 images that he sees (red dot with right eye and target with left eye) in his mind then taking the shot. When you get "lost in the optic" I think he means he focused on the dot too much with his right eye which made his mind drop the image of the target with his left eye and lose the blended image sight picture. I'm sure someone else could explain it better but that's what I think he means.
@clutchshot3306
Ай бұрын
Also, just keep practicing with the dot. You will eventually get used to them. Just remember to not "look" at the dot during presentation. Ben Steoger has a great explanation of this. Focus on your target while looking through the dot. The dot should basically be in your peripheral vision and not in your "focused" vision. It will still look crisp and not blurred as it would when looking through with irons sights.

20:39 I wouldn’t say that training within 10 yards is useless at all. It’s a very important (and challenging) skill to be able to stay relaxed and get consistent As when you’re running the gun literally as fast as you can. Shooting inside 10 yards is pointlessly easy if you do it while shooting like you’re 10 yards away.

I think Brandon hit the nail pretty close to on the head. What things do you think needed to be further expanded on?
@Johnsormani18 күн бұрын
25:00 shooting while moving, you shave off some time but lose a lot of points as well ( shooting minor). The no shoots and mikes just kill this stage here with a penalty and a miss ( -20) . You should calculate hit factors to see the differences in approach. Shooting while moving looks cool but most of the time isn’t that efficient, since many shooters move much slower while shooting that when they would run up to the target . It only works if your balance between time gain and points is correct, and your hit factor is increasing the risk of shooting on the move is also a big factor to consider.This game is all about efficiency. Also,people also tend to shoot faster at a competition, so in my opinion it’s no use to try to get to competition speed while training, since you will at some point cross your boundaries of ability and accept no shoots and misses during training, this will kill you at a match

Also, just keep practicing with the dot. You will eventually get used to them. Just remember to not "look" at the dot during presentation. Ben Steoger has a great explanation of this. Focus on your target while looking through the dot. The dot should basically be in your peripheral vision and not in your "focused" vision. It will still look crisp and not blurred as it would when looking through with irons sights.
can you guys do a review on the Tavor x95 rifle ?
What do y'all use for the soundtracks on this video?
Remedial, marine… checks out
That reign comment lol.
Did anyone knows what’s the name of that device can tape the hole on target?
Camera in use for the POV?
20:39 I wouldn’t say that training within 10 yards is useless at all. It’s a very important (and challenging) skill to be able to stay relaxed and get consistent As when you’re running the gun literally as fast as you can. Shooting inside 10 yards is pointlessly easy if you do it while shooting like you’re 10 yards away.
hello sir, use spécial communication headset with your msa sordid? BEST REGARDS

It’s an Insta 360 Go3 in a hat mount
27:15 lol the cameraman made me nervous there but good situational awareness and not flagging him
Quick question - do you have to have a perfect eye sight to be a good shooter? Do prescription eyeglasses have an impact or efficiency, do they get in a way?

I’m a -6 in both eyes. As long as you are close to 20/20 with them on you will be good. Hunters HD Gold has the best prescription shooting glasses
what camera is used on the cap?
You literally have super squad CO GM on your staff...would be a huge added value to have him weighing in here...

I think Brandon hit the nail pretty close to on the head. What things do you think needed to be further expanded on?
What label gun are you using?
Wow
What camera are you using
hello guys whats the brand of this machine ? 3:58
I'm curious, is that compression sleeve is for shooters elbow?

He said the sleeve was a quarterback sleeve, for keeping notes in - at certain angles, the card is visible.
Curious if Brandon was a Marine Raider 👀
Competition speed, I appreciate the double grip before your pistol passes your belt.
