It would’ve been hilarious if Lucas did one of his high-speed intros where he shoots and runs around- but he does it with a magless gun and dryfires the whole time

Why would it be hilarious? That would actually be incredibly advantageous in competitions, and it's why they don't even let you air gun at IDPA.

man, the editing on this channel is really impressive. there's a lot of things that can be complimented, but the editing is easily the most standout thing here (imo)
@23:30 - That friendly dry fire competition at the end with the single shot reload was hilarious. 🤣 Brantley is one fast MFer!
Man between ya’ll and Ben Stoeger lately there is more than enough info to learn how to shoot really really good.

Got to say this site is one of the best for all around knowledge from basics to tactical. I have watched all of these series and it was well worth the time and I finally bought a couple of your holster systems and the quality, fit and interchangeable options makes building a holster portfolio much easier. Thanks for your efforts.
Instructions unclear, I'm wearing skinny jeans now for some reason.
Just finished my first pistol training session and know what I need to work on for dry fire, perfect timing!
Perfect timing, just got done with my workout and dry fire sesh. Now I get to learn what I did right and horribly wrong. Nice gym setup btw 💪
Love this series. As a new shooter these are helping me immensely. I even feel like I am no longer miles behind my mates who have been shooting for years. It’s starting to edge into “reps will take me to where I want to be.” I have been dry firing, but now I can step it up. 👍
I love the spacing of these videos getting posted! Gives people time to actually do what you're saying and then be ready when the next video comes out!
In addition to dry fire, I also bought dummy rounds to practice malfunction clearing drills for my rifles and pistols.

This has been one of the biggest helps for my transitions and reloads when running live ammo. Some of my friends went to the range with me to run some drills. I threw dummy rounds in their mags and they were impressed at how much it helps them

@chadillac95 Glad to hear it! That's awesome!
Dry fire really helped me get better as well. I was doing it everyday for all of quarantine days and it greatly increased my shooting and reloading abilities both pistol and rifle.
My wife bought me ITarget last Xmas and I love it. I have it in both .40 and 9mm. Aiming at a target is fine but knowing where the bullet will go when you pull the trigger is much better. Dry firing without the laser will help with acquiring the dot, but it also helps to know that when you press the trigger, you're not gonna pull low and left. You still have to put in the range time though to manage recoil. If only there was a dry fire way to simulate recoil!

What about Armenia?
So funny that this video dropped literally while I was doing dry fire practice 😆 I have three targets around my apartment. One is the zeroing target that Trex sent me when I bought my AimPoint PRO a few years ago, the other is a 1x1 square of tape, and the last one is actually me. I’ll just stand in front of a mirror and practice shooting myself so that I’m accustomed to putting my sights on an actual human being.

Excellent video. Great info for all shooters.
Great job, thanks for the fundamentals of dry fire.
Thank you for the videos. I am learning allot. And thanks for telling us that we don't need all those gadgets
Great video and lessons given. Keep up the great work.
This came up while I was doing dryfire ... while watching basketball... and randomly thinking of ways to "react" to people/things on TV that I couldn't predict like " the next blue shirt" or "the next different person" or "the first person in the next transition".
I don't always use my Mantis, but the draw feature is fantastic. It also makes it a bit more fun for me while also offering a timing feature. I haven't tried the trigger reset mags yet.
Thank you! Very helpful, waiting on my Trex order now
Thank you for the details here!
We needed this!
Speaking of dry fire gadgets, how do you guys feel about the Dry Fire Mag? Resets the striker so you don’t have to rack the slide every time?
Brantley came in 11th at nationals right behind Jay Beal!? What a chad! Really cool that he's working at TRex.

Nope, I have a live fire range in my bathroom
I really appreciate a series like this. I live in a place where firearms are mostly banned or heavily restricted, including magazine capacity. All I can do is dry fire or sometimes shoot bb rounds with my airsoft guns. But I still want to achieve a competent, if not high level skill in firearm manipulation, safety, accuracy, all that good stuff. Just in case I'm ever faced with a situation where I need to defend myself or those I care for, I'm not a danger to innocent people around me if I get a firearm in my hands. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge, Lucas!
Target Transitions muy buena explicacion me gustaria aprender mas. Saludos
Thank you 🙏 Lucas !!
Thank you very much.
I've been incorporating dry firing every other day 30min for the past month. I can see improvements already at the range

Great intro to dry fire video. Thank you. Could you guys do a detailed video on correct target transitions? Body mechanics of the movement, what parts of your body are you moving to transition. Shot cadence and movement speed from target to target, specifically with multiple targets at different ranges.
The mirror dry fire draw at the end is a great idea
Insane value. 🤘
I use a DryFire mag for the light switches in the house. It really helped get better with the dot. I use it almost every day, and it's only about 90 bucks. Nice to reset the trigger without racking the slide 50 times a day. The lasers seem wonky, and it seems like you'd focus on the bouncing laser like a video game.
Keep up the good work 👍
Well done
Great info!
Great info as always, that draw and reload vs Lucas by Brantley tho
I travel a lot. Dry firing is a big deal. Thanks very much with great quality content. Chester

Our department is transitioning us to red dots - after tens of thousands of rounds with irons, I feel like I am having to go back to the basics a bit to find that dot quickly. Great video, great pointers!!
A new team member ❤️
Love the video!! The mantis x3 does (as you put it) spit out too much info that may or may not be useful depending on how you use it. I've found it highly beneficial as a shot timer at indoor ranges as it only records your shots.
Great stuff
A man of the people
That’s a nice home gym ✅✅ ( post it notes are good for small targets at home )

That closing scene was hilarious
Better tip for noise on the shot timer, a cheap orange foam ear pro piece fits perfectly into the hole
I started using PAR PRO on iPhone and noticed more speed over just a few weeks. Always working on everything els but been chasing getting to a 1sec appendix draw and fire.
No trigger reset gizmo, Lucas? Any recommendations or is it just not worth the juice?
M'kay. Had me paying so much attention.
Please continue this series and bring on more SMEs, I started my journey thinking the only way is shooting a billion bullets but now I am realizing live fire should be used to vet your dry fire, maybe bring on Ben Stoeger for an episode
Nice video!!
Yes, i have been dry firing religiously for at least 2 years(whenever you had laiku on the channel) will i may not he the tightest grouper, it has made me one of the fastest shooters i know. Target focus is the key.
I can attest to the effectiveness of these methods in enhancing shooting proficiency. Remember, perfect practice makes perfect shooting!
Very good ..What do think of grip tape or Talon grips for my Older MP ?
This is by far the best video series on the internet for learning how to get better at shooting that I've found. Especially for people who may not have someone to teach them in person or turn to for questions. Thanks for 'equipping serious citizens' with this knowledge!
Going with the money saving aspect I bought an Advantage Arms .22L conversion kit for my 26. It cost me $280 and I’ve saved welllll over that much in ammo. I can now shoot a couple hundred rounds for a fraction of the price. Working draw, grip, target transition, everything. Then run a few mags of 9mil to get the recoil impulse right and I’m good to go.
GREAT VID LUCAS - CAN YOU DO A VERSION LIKE THIS WITH AIRSOFT GLOCK AND AR -- FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVENT GOT ACCESS IN OTHER COUNTRIES AND WHAT ABOUT LASER TAG 2.0 ??
Good video! FYI sticky notes make good dryfire targets because they are small and repositionable. Also there are Par Timer apps on the app store that are way cheaper and more convenient than a shot timer in regards to dryfire (I'd argue you still need a real shot timer though).
I'm going back over the entire series on shooting because I just now after years of shooting finally got the grip down. I think you need to emphasize the grip and pressure. That was something I just didn't understand until an instructor put his hand over mine as a support hand and squeezed. I didn't understand how much pressure he was putting in or I should've been putting in to hold the gun, then locking the wrist out.
Practice can make you perfect bro👍
Lucas can you make a video on "Pistol grip angle" does it really affect first shot accuracy ? Is closer to 90 degrees better?
Great content as always, but why do you always have tape on your eotechs?
Das ist ein sehr gutes Video😁
Good stuff
Is that Merriam with Lucas?? Nice !!!
Thanks
Love the gym
The shootout at the end is peak content
The ending had immaculate vibes
Any thoughts on dry fire magazines? I feel like being able to pull the trigger multiple times is a significant plus.
My hands hurt now but ive definitely got the proper grip, i can't afford to live fire all the time so this is great for me. Only thing is i can't use red dots because i have astigmatism.
Plus, this training up by adding differnet types of weapons to the targets. Mix in unarmed targets with armed targets that in various stages of threat levels. In OTC guys have been dropped for shooting unarmed targets due to training scars. If you're going to train this make it even more valuable and the effort will pay off in the chaos.
In the Polish army we now have a basic vis 100 m1 pistol. For many, she's a shit bigger than a glok. Please review for us.
Dude I wish I could have a full setup from REP. I have one of their adjustable benches, and in the future I would like to get a power rack and a cable machine from them.
Good video
Also be deliberate when you're first practicing the draw. Very deliberate to build those neuro pathways. Then start speeding up. You can look too. Look at what you're doing to build the perfect consistent grip
how many magazine could you carry....if ammo capacity was priority? how would your loadout setup be? I wonder if you could make a video on that
setup my Ga-range (garage + range) couple weeks ago. 😊
I saw measurable improvements in about a week. And there's your algorithm offering
Holy shit Lucas traded in his Solomon's for On's; what year is it!? Lol, solid video and info. as always!
I got considerably better with grip, trigger pull, target ransistions, efficient draws from concealment, single hand draws, getting the dot on target, gun handling skills, reloads etc. using just dry fire. I still dry fire practice all the time.
Hello, what would you suggest for lever action, training and defence, substitute for AR? ( from Australia and can’t get an AR Thank you
How do you feel about practicing clearing a malfunction? How do your recommend to practice this during dry fire?
