GOLD - IT'S STILL OUT THERE! Episode 4 - Steve Graf
Ойын-сауық
This is the final episode of Steve's recent 4 Part trip to North Queensland, where he's secured ounces of beautiful gold nuggets. And what a way to finish!
In this episode, Steve strikes some terrific specimen chunks which turn out to contain a serious amount of gold. On top of that, there's a couple of nice patches and a great example of how persistence pays off, after a spot of vehicle trouble. (Be sure to subscribe to keep up with these great wild adventures) ...

Loving your videos.
Looks like a hell of an adventure. And yes, 2 spares out there.👍🏼
Wow, those specimens 😍. Definitely worth the time to dissolve to quartz. I'm sure a collector will pay big $$$ for those.
Awsome vidios steve.impresive gold.what an amazing place to be wondering around in
What a beautiful lot of gold you dug up and cleaned. You certainly can afford the new tyres with that lot. Well done and thanks for sharing your adventures.
Brilliant video again Steve. Your videos are the best Australian gold prospecting ones on you tube. Great mix of good gold, great Qld countryside, geology and critters. Cheers and thanks for the effort you put into the videos. JoeP.

Shalom Eleichem. You are such a Bright Star in the Prospecting fraternity. Thank you so much for your truthfulness, and encouragement to continue on. We had a flat from slicing Rock. Afterwards, we changed over to To Tyres. 10 Ply side walls, almost same price as our olde ones. So thankful of having such aarvellous set of tyres on our car. Yeehaaw. Son Ahava🎉

Incredible finds ⛏️✨✨ Your obviously a pro at this and have been doing this a long time. These videos inspire me to get out there and give it a go ....... although id imagine it would be incredibly challenging in the elements and being in such a remote location . Well done on the finds Steve you deserve it 🎉

Thanks Greg. Yeah it's hard to actually carry enough water sometimes because you sweat so much, especially on those super hot days and you could always drink more but you can only carry so much, so I have to ration it to make sure I have enough for the whole day. And of course the dry dirt is not great on your hands either, but I don't particularly like wearing gloves. I think I'll try and use more hand cream at night. Cheers 😀.
That was a great series.Hope to see another next year👍

what a life you must have, doing it yourself. I like the idea of doing it yourself. Have you ever had a little dog with you?
@stevegraf9276
2 ай бұрын
No I've never actually owned a dog. One of the main reasons is that in some of the area's I go dogs are not permitted and also in some places poison baits laced with 1080 may be present to eradicate wild dogs and I certainly wouldn't want to risk having it accidentally eat one, or a carcass that has died from it. Because many pet dogs have fallen victim to those baits and it's an horrific thing to see. So it's not worth the risk and also I tend to be quite cramped in my vehicle without any spare room, because I sleep in my vehicle as well 😃. Cheers 👍.
💛💙
Hey Steve you’re certainly a risk taker, continuing to drive that track with no spare tyre. But that’s how you get lucky I suppose. Check out the Supersede picks, it’s has a bolt on blade and bolt on pick. Have a couple of spares so not digging with blunt tools. They are hard to come by.

Have you performed a specific gravity test on the specimens? It's easy to do and is fairly accurate. Great video's as per normal... am green with envy....
@stevegraf9276

Hi, yeah I've actually done that a few times and I agree specific gravity test is surprisingly accurate 👍. Cheers 😃.
Excellent What did you use to clean up the specimens? Thanks Steve💥🌈⚒️
@stevegraf9276

Hi, mostly I use strong acids like hydrochloric acid or Ali brite aluminium cleaner. And leave them soaking in it for as long as possible. I will scrub them with a toothbrush periodically and renew the acid also. It works great for cleaning nuggets. There is another method I use for the large quartz specimens but it's something I'd rather not tell everyone at this stage because it's taken a long time to work it out and I feel I need to keep the odd secret up my sleeve lol 😁. But in general the acid works pretty well for cleaning, it can take a while though depending on the size. Cheers 😃.

@@stevegraf9276 Thanks for the info Yes I have used all those as you mentioned, but I see you used something else as the specimens came up much better than using as you suggested, your secret works much better, PM me if you wish to share as I have a large amount to clean and I’m willing to try your secret, as those others didn’t work as good. Thanks💥🌈⚒️
Don't worry about your phone over heating, you're finding enough gold to buy samsung and google together. I can't believe you aren't carrying 2 spare tyres

Hi do you have any tips equipment lists I could use please? Based in Newcastle. Cheers
Those speci's look incredible, how did you dissolve the Quartz? you didn't by any chance use that real dangerous Hydroflouric acid, just one drop gets on your skin it's pretty much game over?
@stevegraf9276
2 ай бұрын
Hi, no I don't use hydrofluoric acid, like you say it's extremely dangerous stuff and also you need a special license to use it. I have a different method I use which I keep to myself at this stage because it's taken me a while to work it out so I figure I have to keep the odd thing up my sleeve. Cheers 😃.

Don’t know if you will see this! This is Bruce in Alaska and I just got a gpx 5000 like new at a fair price and I’m a little dumb on the settings if you don’t mind sharing yours it would be greatly appreciated. I know it’s going to be a little different here but it would be a good place to start. I have received permission to detect on an active commercial claim. It’s known for nine gold he said come stay as long or often as I want 😁.if you want I will let you know how it goes. Thanks

Hi Deb, I'm not actually based in NZ at the moment. I tend to travel back and forth a bit, but I'm not really sure where I'll be too much ahead of time and I often change my plans at short notice. At this stage unfortunately I don't think I'll be in NZ at the end of the year. Cheers 🤠.

Hi do you see many snakes up there on your travels?
@stevegraf9276
2 ай бұрын
Hi, yeah usually about 5 or 6 over a trip, but probably surprising I don't see more. No doubt I come across others near by but they slither away before I see them. Generally they move away when they hear you coming but occasionally they don't, so just have to be careful not to step on one in long grass 😀. I do wear snake gators just in case but hopefully i never have to need them.
