This has got to be one of our greatest hacks on making a DIY Sluice box at home for under $20 bucks and with the newest feature you won't lode any Gold. We call it the Poop Tube Sluice Box and if you know of any improvements, we can make on it then just leave them comments down below, we would love to hear them. and if you want to see another fun and innovative hack we made on the common gold pan, just watch this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKlnxLudk6W_cc4.html

You replace your pan for adding the water with a hand bailer marine bilge pump. Lightweight and pumps a lot of water. So if you haul in your own water, you won't need a battery and a pump. And you still obtain a good flow and for our Canadian friends, you can run a sluse box without being in violation of logs&frogs. No sediment is going back into the river. Great hack Jeff. Just wait until the comments come in. There's going to be some awesome tweaks to add! Thanks for the video Jeff and Lila. These are always as much fun as they are informative.

@@pepepepito623 - Non-perforated drain pipe works very well for capturing gold. So well in fact, that they can be hard to clean out sometimes. I was always amazed at how I had to tip my drain pipe sluice to vertical to actually get all of the gold out. Shark's teeth, well, that's not gold.

Great video Jeff. A raised 5 gallon bucket water reservoir with a 1/2 inch fitting at the bottom would deliver approximately 1 minute of flowing water, hands free. This frees up hands to scoop material. Or, use a ball valve, and have a 3/4 inch hole for 30-40 seconds of water flow. Great idea, would love to see more gold hacks from you such as this : )

Made one of those once and found that cleaning it was a bit of a pain. Solution I found was to take a piece of flat-bottom gutter and roll the corrugated into it to rinse out. The corrugated sprays easily into the gutter when on its side, then the gutter runs the cons out smoothly. Make sure to leave a lip over your joint where you tab them together with the rivets so it washed over the gap.

That corrugated pipe, with a piece of expanded sheet metal to fit inside build a sleuce from it about 6' long, put it in a couple tubs, one to fill, one to catch tailings , raise the inlet about 12-16" put it on a pallet you can haul on a small trailer. Heck mount a small water pump and optional water tank also, then park close to your claim fill with 5gal buckets. Use two tubs on the tail to re use water, slowly pump it back to the tank. Probably two 55gal drums it should not loose over a gallon or two a day, if careful.

Poop tube has been in my kit since the '90s. Slightly different setup - three sections that snap together cause I cut only one third from the top. Piled rock against it to keep the current from taking it. Yours looks just fine. Glad Slim is doin yer thinkin for ya!!

I use a drain pipe to refine down to black sand and gold. Does awesome to get the lighter stuff out quicker than a Blue bowl. 😂 I usually psck into remote areas. So having a straight pipe and walking through steep areas is not efficient enough for me. I roll it up and shove it into a PVC pipe attached to my back pack. Much easier to navigate with both hands free.

Watching your channel actually got me to learn how to pan for gold. Love it but there isn't much gold here in flat Indiana so I have been buying pay dirt. I have tried panning in the Wabash river. Guys drag dredge floats up and down the river. I've heard they find gold, but they call it flood gold.

Used poop tube to process beach sand years ago (30). Worked great and cheap with gravity fed water from a creek nearby. Recovered about half an ounce and got bored with it and the sand stopped concentrating where I was getting it.

I live in a “non gold producing district “ NEPA , so I’m a little crazy and dig holes in my yard with my Excavator cause it has things I’ve never seen anywhere else , lots of white clay and ancient river gravels unlike I’ve ever seen . But I find this brick red rock so filled with mica or something sparkly with tight grains , what’s weird is it’s tan exterior not red on outside so it turns tan & black from oxidation I believe , but so deep red and full of shiny flakes of mica maybe idk . Just wonder what it is ? Brick red color with like white quartz chunks in it . Hematite? But I panned some other stuff last night and found a bunch of little Gold last night , it’s so fun to just mess around . God I wish I can find chunks of gold like that here lol

Wish I could share some of my pictures with you been using corrugated in my sluice for 10 years I run the corrugated at the top to feed and matting below with riffles to make sure I catch the finest gold which is mostly what we have here in Michigan. The wonderful thing about it is the simplicity of it
