I learned something new today when it comes to sayings. I never knew the saying the really McCoy came from a sailer called Bill McCoy. He did the rums runs during prohibition in and around the seas of America. So ships or clippers would do the runs to the shores of the US to try and drop large shipments off under the cover of night on ships like the Cutty sark with whiskey of that name along with others whiskeys of course. I may like to add that bill did not use the cutty sark. He used tomoka I think. Anyway new drinks was hard to copy yet other rum runners/Bootleggers used tricks at that time to try with mixed results as the practice was known so the buyers looked for this,,yet no doubt still bought anyway. This is where Bill comes in,,Bill was trusted with delivery of the good stuff, he began gaining quite name and retribution for himself as he never diluted the rye or whiskey with other toxins that would in turn give the drinkers bad guts because it was not pure. This wouldn’t happen with Bills cargo,,Not with Bill McCoy as captain,,,Hence where the saying the real McCoy comes from. The Real McCoy rum. Anyway put this up because I’m locked away like all of us are and maybe some might find this interesting. Keep safe.

Reminds me of when I went I went to Es Cana, in Ibiza. It was 28c, glorious sunshine, beach was 5 mins away and the pool area was gorgeous, despite this every day a group of older people gathered round the telly to watch "Bargain Hunt"!
