Godzilla's reaction when Kong roared back was basically, "You got heart, you've earned my respect, but I am the king of the monsters!"

Godzilla didn't kick him anywhere. King Kong is alpha in his own right, and he would adjust better to life in tropical habitat rather in human civilization. That's why hollow earth is the best place for him.

Godzilla took a 5 minute power nap mid-round, gave Kong time to plan a counterattack, and still decimated his ass. Kong’s character arc in this movie was like an anime protag who has to realize strength is meaningless without something to protect, and he learned that what he wanted to protect was his new home and new family. The only reason Kong had to keep fighting Goji by the end was pride, and he decided that wasn’t worth dying for (again), so he submitted. And then he’s looking after Goji walking away like “my rival is now my inspiration, one day I will be on your level and you’ll be proud of me, senpai” while ’There Goes My Hero’ plays in the background.

Problem is, they had to enlarge Kong two or three times to match Godzilla's size and it left him unable to move like he should...

2 things: Unlike Mothra and Rodan, Kong never bowed to Godzilla. Even when he was on the ground defeated, Kong roared back at him and Godzilla just walked away. This was a retelling of Marsellus Wallace and Butch from Pulp Fiction. Kong (Butch) saves Godzilla (Marsellus) and then drops his axe and they both nod to each other and part ways.

Godzilla was in China and took a shot at Kong who was thousands of miles away in the center of the earth and only missed him by inches.... GOAT 🐐

I don't think Kong dropped his axe to Godzilla because he was scared or acknowledged that he was the superior monster. He dropped it because he realized that Godzilla wasn't his enemy as the little girl informed him. It could also be a sign of respect since as we saw Kong's race had slain 1 of Godzilla's kind and the axe was made from the spikes found on their back. But that's just my take on it.

Kong used that axe like the briefcase in the Money In the Bank match. Under Triple Threat Rules for the Tables Ladders and Chairs Championship

I’m fascinated how the movie played this. It kind of takes the Rocky route of having Kong lose the actual match, but win more of a symbolic victory. Kong’s main mission/purpose in the movie was not necessarily to beat Godzilla. He didn’t know anything about Godzilla and wasn’t looking for someone to fight until Godzilla came out. Kong rather in this movie has the objective of finding a new home, and then at the behest if the deaf girl, saving godzilla against mechagodzilla, earning the respect of the superior titan.

Honestly I think DESTROYAH should be saved for last. I think we should have some Mothra movies. She is the Queen of the Monsters after all and the Queen deserves her due. Even Rodan deserves at least one movie just for being the Wild Card. I think we should make this continue for a while. We should see Gigan and Megalon show up, the Seatopians can even be the lone human or humanoid civilization in the Hollow Earth. That way we also get out boy Jet Jaguar in the mix too. I also feel like Hedorah should also come back. I noticed that a lot of people are discovering Hedorah and see a lot of potential for the creature in the Monsterverse. Same with Biollante as well, and I think they can be worked in. But for both of those movies, they would depicted seriously, well sort of. I think Hedorah can be a mix of seriousness and humorous. But Biollante, that is a different story. Others are saying to bring back Mechagodzilla and I can't argue with them. Mechagodzilla is always cool, and they could try a Terror of Mechagodzilla remake. Or Monarch could even work on the creation of a Mechagodzilla that fights for the humans like Mechagodzilla 2 or especially, Kiryu. There is a lot to do and I do think that Goodwin is right, they should try and create their own monsters too. The MUTOs are quite popular, even in Japan, and Behemoth is practically a fan favorite these days. There is potential!

The only thing that actually broke Goji's skin was that charged up axe. Even Mecha G's beam had trouble burning through Goji's scales/hide and that shit cut through a skullcrawler like a hot knife through pre-melted butter. Kong may be strong, but Godzilla is Tonka-tough. Without that axe, I highly doubt Kong could've dealt any blow that would've caused any meaningful damage.

godzilla was tired and worn out already with wounds from kicking kong's ass on top of mecha already having tech advantage. He would've faired far better if he was fresh, plus the only reason mecha was even that powerful was becuz of the samples from godzilla's ancestors power, he had too much stacked against him to even come close to winning

So Godzilla can use the nuclear pulse attack constantly and not get tired or get weaker from all of that radiation he is expelling? Doesn't he feed on radiation? That would kind of be like him vomiting or burning energy, would it not?

I wouldn't say no to a Monsterverse version of Gigan, Orga, or the Xiliens.

Kong sequel is him constantly fighting new monster building his fighting skills.

I just watched the movie last night, and while there are some clear Rocky vs Apollo Creed comparisons, I saw it as being more similar to Marvel’s Hulk vs Thing fights, with Godzilla standing in for the Hulk, and Kong is obviously the Thing.

That exchange between Godzilla and Kong when Godzilla had him down was awesome. Godzilla: Submit Kong: No! Then them yelling simultaneously at each other Godzilla wanting submission and Kong refusing was great too. Kong still got a thorough beating, but he got his in. Overall it was very entertaining. If Destoroyah is a future contender, that would be awesome.

For 13:29 i have to respectfully disagree. My reason for this is because throughout the monsterverse, to be king of the monsters the other monster either has to submit or be defeated like how Ghidorah became alpha once Godzilla was "dead" and when godzilla killed Ghidorah or when Rodan tried to take on Godzilla but then bowed down therefore, submitting. So technically, Godzilla is still king of the monsters becasue he didn't submit to mecha godzilla and mechagodzilla didn't kill him yet. But that's my opinion

If I am being honest, mechagodzilla didn't steal the title of king of the monsters from Godzilla because Kong stopped him before he could. Another point I want to bring up is that Godzilla's atomic breath wasn't at full strength when up against mechagodzilla's beam attack. Remember that at their best, mechagodzilla's beam was able to go through buildings, while Godzilla's atomic breath went through the earth into the hollow earth. Even if mechagodzilla was more maneuverable than Godzilla, I do think that Godzilla could have won the beam struggle had he been at full strength. Plus, as powerful as mechagodzilla was, it definitely couldn't defeat Godzilla in his most powerful state: Burning Godzilla. Godzilla still defeated Kong, is still the most powerful titan, and is still the undisputed king of the monsters!

Godzilla took the two piece and then asked Kong for the biscuit.

I think we can all agree this was the best SummerSlam of the year.

Yeah yeah keep babbling...Godzilla just gained him the power but I consider this king Kong kill since he's actually the one who does the action.

Godzilla didn't just beat Kong....he humilated him. He left him to die instead of killing him....or maybe that was a sign of respect for giving a good fight? Who knows?

Godzilla was like Mike Tyson. King Kong was like Evanda Holyfield.

@@Flippy_Nips Thats certainly possible but I was speaking as if those aliens were even bigger than Godzilla. A threat that would take more than two monsters to go up against. If they went this far, its going to take a lot more than more gorillas to up the stakes in a sequel.

My money was always on Godzilla, because he's actually had fights.

His first two movies established that he's been hunting and killing titans for like a thousand years. He has waaaaay more experience than King Kong. Throw in the armor (scales) and his atomic breath, Kong had no real shot in this fight.

Godzilla had been fighting other monsters prior to fighting Kong, so when he fought Mechagodzilla, he was far from being 100%. Godzilla would not have lost to Mechagodzilla if he was 100%. Also, Kong did not beat Mechagodzilla alone, Godzilla helped quite a bit.

Yes after the fight Kong with battle did take the title after Mechagodzilla beat Godzilla. But then immediately lost it by giving up against Godzilla’s challenge and then Godzilla took his title and king status back

Love the channel! Here's my thoughts: Mechagodzilla would have never come online if Kong didn't get in the way. He led humans to the power source then challenged Godzilla while he was on his way to destroy the facility.

Kong dropped the axe and basically took the knee at the end, Godzilla is clearly king.

Mechagodzilla didn't take the "King" title from Godzilla and passed it onto Kong after getting beaten by the ape, Godzilla straight up won both fights fair and square. For a Godzilla fan Chris has a huge biased against him much like flip flopping fans.

*When it comes to Mechagodzilla's psychic-link-DNA-computer stuff, I loved it because it called back to every Mechagodzilla.* Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) had it's MG being controlled psychically by a human(-cyborgy thingy); in Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla II (1993), MG was built upon the parts of a recovered Mecha-King Ghidorah head; In Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002), Kiryu was built on the bones of a previous Godzilla, and the DNA from said skeleton was used to improve the software controlling Kiryu. Each Mechagodzilla was referenced in this movie. Did it make sense? God no. But for a dedicated Godzilla fan like me, it was an awesome nod. Also, DNA Supercomputers are a real thing, Google it, the shit is crazy!

I'm just Happy there was a CLEAR Victor between The Two Titular Characters None of that TIE BS or "This person wasnt at their best when they fought and if they were" blah blah NAH, just straight up undisputed Winner, They couldve had Mecha Godzilla show up in the middle of their second fight but they let it play out and that sincerely was a breath of fresh air that future VS movies need to learn from. Respect to Kong though, I loved when Godzilla was steppin on him roaring in his face he still didnt Back down. Even if he lost that was HYPE AF.

But remember that Godzilla pretty much ate a blow to the head from that axe when it was charged up. He was only down for seconds and stood back up and shrugged it off. It also blew KONG back with that hit. Godzilla was also able to easily disarm KONG of the axe. KONG never stood a chance here with or without it.
