I love your TNG reviews, so I figured I'd give some of your other videos a try. You guys are really insightful reviewers. I enjoyed this review of Godzilla.

Absolutely wonderful review, it's a very distinctive style to have two commentators.

Originally they were going to show the relation between Dr. Yamane's family and Shinkichi Yamada's family. There is a still showing them all kneeling at the gravestones of Shinkichi's mother and brother on Odo Island. This for some reason was never developed. Gojira was filmed in summer and in Japan a typical summer is hot and humid. Everyone is sweating and the hot lights they used didn't help.

Gojira, The Beast from 20,000 fathoms and Gorgo all have one thing in common. You have one lone scientist who feels that a vicious prehistoric creature should be studied instead of killed. This however presents five different problems: 1. How are you going to contain such a creature--considering what it does to cities and the military? 2. How are you going to feed such a creature? 3. What are you going to feed it? 4. How are you going take it for walkies when it needs to take a dump? 5. How are you going to clean up after it once it takes a dump? We have the choice of being destroyed by either radiation/disease or dino excrement.

My favorite franchise of all time, and I loved how 2014 did copy this formula in the original

Fantastic review on this movie! I've never watched the original, can't lie. This is on par with, and actually a bit above a Cinemassacre productions review. Nailed it totally with this being a sort of coping mechanism to deal with the aftermath of the war and how it was a stand-alone movie to make the statements about depth of humanity and hard topics in the wake of it all. The part about Godzilla being showing at night; also not only for dramatic purpose or to just help the special effects but, think of it this way too: Back then during the wars most air raids primarily came at night. That is, up until the allies had domination over the skies. I think the theme of the dread of what night will bring plays a part in it being shot that way as well. As far as the dude with the geiger counter just having to go fish finding for two months... lmao! So, it's no secret that I dig yous guy's channel. I want to ask if it's ok if my buddy and I add you as a "Featured channel" on our home page of Bowzer's Reaction Pit. If not, that's cool, no hard feelings.

That would be cool, thanks. Glad you liked the review. You make a good observation about the bombings coming at night. That will actually come up a bit in the second Godzilla movie, which we'll cover before too long.

Loving these discussions. Hope to get more Godzilla soon! Or maybe some Gamera?
