I watched this in a 4DX theater, with chairs that moved and fans that blew in your face and literal smell-o-vision. Those sorts of gimmicks make sense for a movie that's just dumb action-schlock, but it was bizarre having it happen on an actual legit movie. It was like watching There Will be Blood while riding Space Mountain.

I just had a vision of Daniel Day-Lewis shouting at Paul Dano about how the oil has been drained set to "It's a Small World After All".

The reason Paul's climb to Messiah figure happened so fast is because they needed to have it done before Jessica had her baby. It's a tough call, because the omniscient toddler just doesn't work in a movie. The alternative would've been what? A "10 years later" title card, or a montage. Also, the fundamentalists were a southern hemisphere thing vs northern hemisphere, not old vs young. It was actually brilliant world building, imo. I'm sad you didn't mention costume design. My major criticism of part 2 was the missed opportunity to develop the fremen when the harkonnens destroyed the sietch. Fremen don't cry. It should've been eerily silent.

You guys are great! Love good reviews like this because now I want to re-watch part two. Some content is better than none, we all appreciate you guys taking the time and effort to do these for us, they're entertaining and something to look forward to. Speaking of Japan, perhaps a Shogun review is in our future?

You probably know this but Coppola did a "remix" of Godfather part 1 and 2 similar to what you are asking for here. It's called the Godfather Saga and probably is available somewhere on the interwebs.

When did they stop their cool TNG music intro. Is it only for TNG?

Did Nick get a new microphone? He sounds... different. Very unmodulated. It is harder to hear the nuances of his voice and that creates a very robotic sound effect. I value conciseness in my own reviews, so I will only say that I found this film to be entirely mid

Last parts of Dune 2 feel weird because you can almost watch in real time the director discovering "oh no Paul is becoming a messianic savior and that's portrayed as good, i gotta fix that". So they had to invent a new perspective and use Chani and re-tone scenes to make it look like a tragic dictator rise to power. Completely clashes with the trope and story Dune is trying to tell.

They can drag out Buffy. I've actually never watched an ep of the show. I found it through their TNG reviews. Basically, I'm watching the whole Buffy series for the first time through their reviews.
