Something similar happens during the first fight with Kratos and Thor. The weapons both (seemingly) stare each other down after they first clashed and neither gaining the upper hand on the other. It's almost as if they have a type of memory of their own and realize they cannot overpower the other. Ingrid is another one of these "smart weapons" it seems. In fact, the more I think about it, that seems plausible as the Dwarves can infuse souls into items such as Invari's ring.

I realize that at 3:20, Atreus got triggered by not just Thor being rude, but by being called boy… because his dad does that lol!

I love how throughout all the chaos nobody seems to notice the 2 magical weapons fighting each other in mid air 😂

3:15 I got literal chills at this moment. Sunny delivered the line with such raw emotion... man this game was great.

I was actually relating to Thor in this game. I really wanted to see a redemption from him. He was broken, drunk, mourning his sons and brother. He was so far gone in the path the All Father made for him that he couldn't see a way out. "No thinking " was his motto.

Its more sad that Odin molded him into a mindless killing machine rather than actually raising him as his son. Thor keeps telling Atreus to "stop thinking" and we can see where he got that from

I think by defying Odin, he may not have redeemed himself, but he showed that he wanted to. But there was just no chance Odin would let Thor live after turning on him, so we never got to see it play out

I love how much mjolnir and Ingrid went from helping their owners to boxing with one another

Now I see why odin said thor was fun when he was drunk 🤣🤣

Same, and laughed again at 10:32 when Mjolnir lurched through the wall (accidentally smacking Thor in the back of the hand in the process, which made me wince and which Thor clearly felt!) and then plopped onto the ground as if it had had a bit too much fun itself :D

My favorite part is at 4:50 where Ingrid sticks some dude to a wall knocking the ale out of Thors' hand followed by him doing a goofy ass drunk stumble after catching Mjolnir. The whole part had me rolling 🤣

Mine is when Thrud punched that Einherjar and ran off in a random direction, while Atreus was punching him in the face, I was watching Thor in the background beating the hell out of two other Einherjar. Also the scene when Mjolnir and Ingrid were going at it.

Atreus: “please, lets just-“ Thor: “I said *quiet boy*! Atreus: “Only my dad can call me boy!”

Atreus: My "NAME" is -- whoa.

I love that the game-creators had Icelandic to stand in for authentic Norse. Because it pretty much is the original language, hardly changed.

I love the bar fight scene of this game. You know why? Because unlike most bar fight scenes in other games or shows, you actually get to see the whole fight scene here, instead of focusing on other characters reacting to the fight scene for the sake of comedy.

Real talk, how heavy is Thor though? Cause if thrud cab move giant blocks if stone and other things, but can barely lift her father, then he's gotta be like the thing where most strongman are fat, but extremely strong.

Marvel thor and norse myth thor are VERY different, if the mcu wanted to stay true to the comics, then they would write thor as a "great hero" character, but if your talking about fat thor in endgame, i agree, he should've been something like this

This whole fight scene is great, but what I love most is seeing Atreus standing up for himself. To Thor, and to the Einherjar. It's nice to see him growing up.

That title is pretty much Thor in a nutshell

The einherjar( warriors who die in battle and resurrected to keep fighting for the all father) loom like the war boys in Mad Max fury road.

Warboys were this children "rescued" and indocrinated by Joe to follow him blindly with the promise of Valhala. Einherjar doesn't seem so different really and I suspect that the inspiration is real.

I accept that interpretation too because it makes his reclusiveness darker. Imagine how twisted up he was if he was asked to stop going to the bars because he kept getting into drunken fights. I have to imagine that one fight got so bad that only Korg was able to pull him off the person he was beating into the ground and Valkyrie had to give him an ultimatum to get drunk at home.

Atreus going 'HOW are you still conscious!' after beating the crap out of a dude is gold.

The little fight at 5:50...an incredible Kratos & Zeus reference LOL

Valhalla is a places of gathering for the Warrior who fall in battle and assemble by Valkyries. The Warrior would alter became Einherjar where tehy would became Odin's personal army in Ragnarok.

Anyone else feel bad for the bouncer that got his skull demolished for trying to stop Loki from continuing with fighting the other patrons? He was just trying to do his job!

4:50 - 5:02 those 12 seconds had me rolling on the floor laughing.. from the dude randomly getting slammed against the wall, Thor catching Mjölnir and doing a classic drunk stumble, then saying "thinking too muuuuuuch." To then the random guy just absolutely yeeting himself into our BOY completely out of the blue. I swear to god! 🤣🤣🤣

This game made Thor one of my favourite gods.

I know most people don't like the Atreus sections of the games, but this bar fight section was a pretty good section.

Clearly what God of War needed was the amazing bar fight cliche.

The only thing I think that would of made this moment better was if they had some kind bar fight music playing in the background, something like an Irish gig or to that effect

It's cool that this alliance/Their sibling relationship It's a reference not only to Marvel but also to the original Norse Mythology where the two had several adventures together as Thor really enjoyed Loki's company because he was intelligent and smart I wish the game had more missions with the 2 of them,for example them in the village under Asgard,them in Hellhaim and also in Midgard since there is a story about Thor and Loki together Where it involves the challenge and trap of the giants Where the giants try to kill the 2 in a betrayal but Thor and Loki kill them all and there are Thor's goats in this story where Thor loses the challenge and was defeated by the giants in a game that was humiliating and shameful For him and also in the story of the hammer theft,Thor and Loki go to Iontuhaim together and there Thor dresses up as a bride according to Loki's idea It's a shame that these stories didn't happen or weren't mentioned Like the story of the kidnapping of the Goddess Iduna and her apples that It was mentioned in 2018 And it really happened and in this story Loki is innocent/guilty and also a Hero helped save the Goddess And there's the story of the theft of Freya's necklace who knows,maybe a DLC could happen and Thor,Odin,Baldur,Freyr and others dead Gods come back to life and have more gods,stories,The heroes Beowulf and Siegfried/Sigurd,pets from gods,2 extra kingdoms Valhalla & a new Asgard And creatures + news Valkyries That were not shown,told or appeared in the upcoming DLC or perhaps the next game Let's hope it happens 🥹🥲🙏 like and Bye!

i mean, i kinda like how they're going with the new GoW's. They're taking the time to explore the issues guys can go through with Kratos and Thor, how it can affect the family, and not just show it off as "men bad". It gives a degree of humanization to characters that would otherwise be a power fantasy (not that there's anything wrong with a power fantasy, but it's allowing an old series to have new life breathed into it in this case)
