[GMSH tutorial 1] Installation and first model building and meshing
Ғылым және технология
Gmsh is an open source 3D finite element mesh generator with a built-in CAD engine and post-processor. Its design goal is to provide a fast, light and user-friendly meshing tool with parametric input and advanced visualization capabilities. Gmsh is built around four modules: geometry, mesh, solver and post-processing.

Wonderful contents. So few good resourses in these fields. Keep up the good work.
Really good content. Rare to find on the internet. I really appreciate and thank you for what you are doing for everyone. Excited to binge the series, Much love!
I am becoming a huge fan of your work...huge respect
Thank you, very clear and got me on my way in no time. Next step, Elmer. I'm trying to visualize magnetic flux of a complex assembly.
Absolutely great, as always!
Hello Cyprien! Thank you! 🙂
Excellent content! Thanks fo sharing!!
Many thanks, Cyprien, for all the educational videos! I shall be most appreciative if you invest some time on creating a tutorial series on Basilisk (an open-source multi-phase flow solver) for the benefit of CFD community.
This helped me a lot!
Salut Cyprien. _Hi Cyprien_ . _Good afternoon in France_ 🇫🇷 . _Good morning in Mexico_ 🇲🇽 . _Thanks for the video. I have been using gmesh inside FreeCAD for some time. It really does a good work. I will try to use it directly learning from your video_ . _I am watching your video right now_ . _Have a nice day and a wonderful week_ . Nice tutorial
I wonder if the "G" in Gmsh comes from GNU, as the software is released under GPL ( GNU General Public License)
thanks really helpful 😊
Your content is invaluable Cyprien! I hope you could continue doing more linear static analysis with Salome and Code_Aster for complex scenarios of real life!
Hi Cyprien.... Can u suggest which gmsh version should I install for Ubuntu 18.04? I have tried gmsh 4.10.5 and 4.9.5 .... But for both my screen freeze for a lot of times.
Hi Cyprien! Im very grateful for your videos. ¿Can you teach us how to refine the mesh in some areas of the geometry?
Naisu
Thank you very much teacher. Is it possible to make a model of a concrete beam attached to an iron plate from the bottom?
great work, i want to know can we make overset meshes in gmsh and solve it through Matlab please ?
Hi, can you help me with how to get a geometry from QGIS and open in GMSH?
Hello Cyprien, thank you for another tutorial. Could you prepare next one with making groups (nodes, elements) in GMSH? It would be very useful!

Hi. Can i use gmsh with openfoam? It just only create a mesh for finite element or do i have any chance to generate a mesh for finite volume?
@Feaforall
2 жыл бұрын
I might be wrong, but I think the mesh and the method used by the solver are usually independent. You have to understand what kind of mesh your finite volume solver supports and then generate this type of mesh with Gmsh. So the answer is yes, it should be possible except if your solver needs something very special…
Hello, I am studying aerospace engineering. I just started Openfoam. I want to perform a 2D CFD analysis of an airfoil. Can you list the things I need to do after the transactions are completed through GMSH? Do I just need to save it in the relevant format, put it in my openfoam file and determine the boundary conditions? I would be very happy if you could help me with this subject. Kind regards.
Hi Cyprien, I am just starting out with Gmsh. Just wanted to ask what's a viable platform/app to open the script in an editable form?

Hello cyprien, I am struggling with one design,is there any way I could send the details and you could show me how to code for that to create the mesh? I am really in need of your help.!! advance thanks !
can anyone please guide me how to use clscale in gmsh
How can I open the script on vscode?
