    JOHN REAVES I started having a service brake system light come on a couple months ago and it was the little ground wire that bolts to the frame right under the drivers seat. Not inside the cab but under the truck. Unbolted the wire, where wheeled the connection spot and reconnected and all is good. Different issue than what I had before but it may be worth checking into.

    Im having the same issue and it does seem to happen when it’s cold outside or on a day where it’s been raining and the truck senses the roads might be slippery or icy because when I turn on the truck I see that little message “Icy roads possible” only thing is when the truck has had those episodes I will be driving and it feels like the truck goes into neutral and back to drive repeatedly at the same time the locks will start locking and unlocking. If I turn it off for 15 seconds and turn it on again it has stopped but then truck has sluggish acceleration after. Another thing is that it keeps bringing up false check engine lights to replace the oil pressure sensor but it had been replaced 5 days prior and then out of no where the check engine light disappeared.

  • @ricepadi29

    @ricepadi29

    I never experienced any icy road warnings when my truck was having issues. I know my icy light comes on when the temps are right around 32 degrees. My truck would stutter a lot real quick, the locks go crazy, and the speedo and rpm gauges would basically stop working. The stuttering was basically because the truck was losing power and and back on repeatedly. It did feel like it was kicking into neutral because of the power loss. It seemed that it took place when there was a heavy load on the electrical like running the ac and or heater, radio going, and putting on turn signals all at once. Once I finally changed the positive battery cable it has been smooth sailing. There is also a ground cable on the frame underneath the truck pretty much right under the driver seat. It is notorious for causing a service brake system light to come on. It is an easy unbolt, clean all the rust, and reboot project. Good luck out there.

    @@ricepadi29 The “Icy Roads warning” could just be pure coincidence cause it’s been cold since I’ve owned the truck. The reason I mentioned the truck feeling like it’s going into neutral it’s cause you can hear the truck rev up loudly and not move just like when you put it on neutral but I’m sure it’s the same issue you were having. I will try to replace all the things you did on the video and keep my fingers crossed. I appreciate you making this video!
