2014 GMC Truck Misfire Diagnostics With Known Good Part
I diagnose a #1 cylinder misfire on a 2014 GMC truck with a 5.3L engine. I swap #1 and #3 spark plugs. Still has misfire on #1 cylinder. Checked #1 ignition coil for spark output. No spark. I swap #1 and #3 ignition coils. I have spark output on #1 cylinder but not #3 cylinder indicating that misfire moved with the coil and coil is faulty.

I am having the same issue with my 2014 Silverado. This was very informative! Those old wires are such a pain to get off without damaging the aluminum heat shield!
I have a 14 Silverado with 41k miles. This seems like the problem I’m having.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I have a 2015 Silverado with 37,500 miles has the same problem. This video will help me to fix my truck, thanks so much🙏
Should have moved plug wire & coil also evap solenoid probably bad .. which allows it to draw fuel vapor from tank which is not metered by pcm
You mentioned not hearing the lifter, having this issue on an 07 Sierra with a cylinder 4 misfire. Changed plugs, wires, and coils already but the lifter is ticking. Any diagnostic tips?
I have replaced plugs wires still have misfires on number seven and replaced ignition coil on seven what could it be
You were absolutely perfect. Thank you for sharing. You did an amazing job with your explanations and video. I need to research this for a mis fire. I was wondering if it was a coil or an injector. Thanks again!
I have a random misfire on my 2014 silverado , l have spark on all plugs , what else could it be ?????
What Autel model were you using?
What about checking the spark directly out the coil. Could of been a bad spark plug wire
I think you fixed my problem and I didn’t even start checking anything yet. Besides scan tool: misfire cylinder 6
information really helped thanks!
Very nice work! Thanks boss

In my case after swaping plugs, wires and coil, its still showing same plug, any idea what to check next?😅
