Her teacher knew there was no man around to protect Gloria. Lilli Estefan is so supportive. That’s the ride or die family member one needs. I’ve heard the Gloria wasn’t very kind early in her career and this explains a lot of that. Glad to see she’s leveling up and healing.
Shame on the police/DA at the time for encouraging her to not press charges. Obviously, the statute of limitations has long ago run out on this, so the guy could not now be charged even if he is still alive (and doing math would indicate there is a good chance he no longer is).

By not the mentioning the man she is is hurting other victims. Every parent should know his name and see if their daughter had any contact with him.

She is just telling her experience and be and example to parents to look out for their children..

She knew her legacy would be marred by her abuser when he tried to clout chase early in her career. So she kept it moving because it wasn’t the right time. Now that she is known for her talent and not being a victim. If the police told a victim not to press charges they should be sued for dispensing legal advice.
