In the US he would have been executed for treason. Don't want to defend the Cuban regime, but come on, you don't invade a country and complain afterwards that they were mean to you because your coup didn't succeed. Castro succeeded starting with just a bunch of guys and the people of Cuba joined his fight while he progressed, he had no foreign aid at that time. So at least it was more legit than what would have resulted out of the Bay of Pigs invasion, probably another Augusto Pinochet. Castro's regime has crippled Cuba after the downfall of the Sovyet Union, but the US has crippled, and still does cripple, the whole Americas since the cold war and especially with the war on drugs. Mexico is just one big drug cartel. And then they're wondering why these people want to migrate. Mexico and many other of these devasted countries don't have a communist regime like Cuba or Venezuela and people still want to get out of there.

To me she’s an amazing singer and performer in English and Spanish. I had her CD’s in both languages. One Christmas she came up with a CD maybe a decade or longer ago in Spanish even that I think a few songs in English that every song was amazing and I know in the Latin charts at that year like 8 songs were in the top. Her daughter and son have nice voices. Her daughter sounds like her and her son sounds good too

Gloria's daughter, Emily, doesn't have a 'nice' voice - she has an AWESOME voice...and her percussion skills are off the charts. I saw Emily perform at a tribute to her parents. Gloria was teary-eyed with pride and Emilio should be proud the legacy is secure. I admire her because she's definitely not cruising on the Estefan name like some celebrity kids cruise (thinking the door automatically opens because mom and/or dad is in the business). Emily is very talented in her own right - absorbed her parents' singing and percussion skills like a sponge.

Gloria was born as Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García, she was nationalized in USA in 1974, but changed her last name from Fajardo García to Estefan when she married with the Miami Sound Machine leader, Emilio Estefan on September 2nd 1978. Gloria meet him on July 4th, 1976 when she was 18 years and him 23. When they married Gloria had turned 21 years.

She has a beautiful voice.
