I’ve had a crush on Andy for YEARS!🥰

Definitely will need to have a sequel, I can imagine the hilarious obvious scenarios for the next chapter in this Latin family. please please do a sequel!!!!

This was an excellent interpretation of "Father of the Bride" It is such a good film, that this is the third movie with that title. The original was in 1950 with Spencer Tracy, then there was the one from 1991 with Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, and now this one in 2022. Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan, and the rest of the cast were all wonderful. Besides her singing talent, and past credits as an actress, it is great to see Gloria Estefan again on the big screen, especially at her age. She is a pillar of the community that has done a lot of good for the people of South Florida but especially for the Cuban people in Miami and Cubans everywhere in the world. It is great that people can see her portraying a Cuban mother and representing the Cuban community. We Cubans should all be proud.

I didn't know what to expect. I thought that I was going to give it a chance, but then after the first 5 minutes, it got me and I saw the whole movie and what a surprise, a well acted, updated version. It was really that good.

I am not cuban, but I admire Gloria Estefan (coincidently, she has the same initials I was born with) and I always found Andy Garcia as a very attractive man.

@VILJL And the 1950 version remains the only version to date to receive Academy award nominations nods for Best Picture, Best Adapted screenplay and Best Actor (Spencer Tracy). The 1991 version received nothing (its sequel managed a Globe nod for Steve Martin) and this newer version will in all likely hood receive nothing either.

They should have had Gloria do more movies back in the 80s when she first became popular. There needs to be a sequel to this movie!

This was a perfect movie that did NOT need to be remade...... they needed to leave it alone.

he looks like micheal bubble', at least, I thought, in clip....just now....lol.....I watched movie right sometime after this interview and it was really good and go gloria and the rest of the cast was excellent.....

Why call it Father of the Bride to begin with? Why not create a newer title to differentiate it from the others so as not to have people lament 'oh another remake.' The 1950 and 1991 versions were titled Father of the Bride (including the 1991's sequel although with the added Part II). Of note is the 1950's sequel which went with Father's Little Dividend.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. One question - why was Gloria Estefan dressed soooo conservatively in it? Long sleeves always. High necks. Why?

It will not be the same as when Steve Martin, Diane Keatonz, Martin Short & Kimberly Williams played in the movie.

Excelentes artistas y patriotas. Qué bueno hubiera sido darle un pequeño papel a Alexander Otaola. El asistente de la chica que se dedica a organizar la boda le habría quedado pintado a Otaola, por ejemplo. Creo que hubiese sido una buena manera de reconocer el éxito de su encomiable labor denunciando a la dictadura , despertando cubanos y poniendo el dedo en la yaga de la doble moral de muchos. Pero no, no le tocó. Ténganlo en cuenta para la próxima 😉

I think it was trying so very hard to be modern & culturally educate the viewers, as if we're all so very ignorant. That they took all the fun & comedy out of it. I felt like it was trying to educate me 👨‍🎓 on all kinds of different Spanish cultures instead of entertaining me & making me laugh.

I actually loved this movie. I think it's disappointing that they feel like they have to include all kinds of woke ideology, but that aside, it's my favorite rendition of FotB.

I'd like to watch this movie but idk for thr longest time I don't like Gloria's voice 🙃

This was a great cast, but just not for this movie. Everyone in the movie is playing characters younger than their ages in real life. I'm not saying these 2 don't look good, but they do look like their ages, in their 60's. Even the daughters & groom are older in real life & look their real ages. Should have been called Grandfather of the Bride 🤣 I know it's just a movie, but come on 😉 they definitely got the timeline & ages wrong & I'm just supposed to pretend everyone is younger than they are & just go along with it. Or they did a lot of bloopers with the timeline & they had their kids when they were in their 40's. Yes, I'm overthinking it because they made it so obvious to notice the age discrepancies.

@@marieferrer3516 Having gray hair doesn't mean your in your late 60's. Steve Martin movie was in 1991, he was in his late 40's & so was Diane Keaton. The cast was all age appropriate. In this version the entire cast is way older than the characters they're playing. It's just very obvious. Everyone is very attractive, but they look their real age though. They look like the grandparents, not the parents in this version 🤣 Having someone who is 66 trying to play a 46 year old without CGI or special makeup was just so obvious & ridiculous to me. Or they would have had their kids in their late 40s. Yes, I'm overthinking it, but it's too obvious not to think it 🤔😉

I'm Cuban and I loved it. Andy is sharing our culture with the world. There was even a "Vicky Backery" scene lol.

I am 48 year old Cuban American that has been in Miami since I was 1. Love Andy Garcia, have been a fan of his since I saw him on Que Pasa USA for his guest appearance. Having said that, this movie should never have been remade. The original is so good that it is ridiculous to me that they would think of remaking it. Much less a hispanic version. And I am hispanic. Gloria has been one of the biggest traitors to the cuban people in Miami. And it annoys me that people might watch this movie and equate Cubans to her.

You can be of any political belief you want. But when you sell your souls for money, hey, if you can look at yourself in the mirror, props to you. It's not about politics, it's about standing for something, that you yourself fled an island for. And not forgetting where you come from just to get a little money. It's not all about money. Have a little verguenza.

It was good dude, it actually scored higher on rotten tomatoes than both Steve Martin films
