    Dad sounded like he was speaking in tongues over the mic. I finally figured it out. He sounds like one of those submarine captains. “I think we’re dog free. Balsa gonna reside yer over year gonna rain putem up good yield doe buchwell over under ! “ He’s talking under water. God bless him he’s in the thick of harvest. Pushing BJ to adult pampers. Rock on crew. Only thing better would be George doing a ride along while eating popcorn. 😂👍🏼👍🏼

    We have found more head loss than rotor loss with our gleaners and gerinhof heads . We ran a case 9240 as well in corn as a side by side trial and it has more loss but the majority is head loss . We ran most of our corn at high moisture and the losses were slim to none . We are almost finished with corn now we need to finish beans . We are sitting at 1500 acres of beans and 500 acres of corn left. We then will do some custom work for a few farms . I'm ready to be done with harvest this fall has been wet and rainy so it's dragging on. We finished drilling wheat Friday now we are seeding rye and red clover for cover crop. We plan on planting rye and red clover on every acre that we can we seed a yield increase and less weed pressure by using cover crops. Great video keep up the good work !

    If you have corn with ears closer to the ground Geringhof is not the head to have more ear damage Kernal loss.

  • @anthonybanda8192

    @anthonybanda8192

    Жыл бұрын

    @@joescheller6680 didn't blame the header ! I was explaining that our loss was mostly at the header . It would have been the same with any brand of head . It was mostly a corn variety issue with our early high yielding 102 day corn . But with us running a case 9240 in the same field as a test we had more rotor loss than our gleaners . We could clearly see corn coming out the back of the combine not from the head at the same ground speed the gleaner was running at . That being said this was in 270 to 300 bushel corn at 20 % moisture. Last years corn yields were crazy high. Last year average yields were 250 to 330 bushels an acre where normal for us is 180 to 220 bushel an acre .

    I know the Deere corn heads have the possibility of three ranges where you swap gears around at the end of the head where the main drive shaft drives the drive shaft going to your row gearboxes. I can't remember for sure but when we had a Cappella head, I think you could do the same thing with it.

    lexion for corn and beans i leave the cylinder in low, the only time high speed is small grains, so the only thing i do going to corn from beans is slow cylinder, open concave and awning plates, pull chopper knives , and open botton sieve all the way. 5 minutes tops. if i had a lot of corn acres i would take bottom sieve out. no need for it in corn, you can use the chaffer to clean up debris.

    Going down the POWER LADDER. Yes i need more of that, its your thunder! The hedder problem maby solved by just going faster on the glean machine? Or the angle on it might be different to the claas, by the tire size or pressure in them.

  • @johnpowers1125
    @johnpowers11252 жыл бұрын

    Did you check the heavy separator grate on the very bottom of the cage? We have ran gleaners for decades and every one of them would plug up with cobs and you’d start to see rotor loss. Also always have the concave plugging like you saw, no way to get rid of it that we found.

    Beautiful corn crop, any combine will lose a bit, as that is a lot to swallow when you are harvesting those kind of bushels. 287 bu instead of 288.4 bu is insignificant as long as you are getting the crop out of the weather!
