    75% of foxes don’t make it to their first year, even though in captivity they can live up to 14 years old. It’s a hard life. The life span of a wild fox or urban fox is 1 and a half years. I have been feeding a family of foxes for almost a year now. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

    Hi, yes, they’re still alive. They look quite healthy. There’s a new one who’s very brave and I have been hand feeding him. I would love to be able to pet him but I don’t want to rush him. We’re just beginning to get to know each other, but I am excited since I always wanted to be friends with a fox and I think this is the one 😊👋🏻

    I lived in outskirts of Glasgow ! Farmers fields and horses, cows etc., never ever saw a fox! Wish I had ! You are not doing any harm , these poor animals have been driven out of their natural habitat by builders, more houses! All we need They are just adorable ! Thank you fo acting kindly to these animals, feeding but yet letting them still roam on their own !!

    I grew up right out in the sticks of Mid Wales and only ever saw 1 fox the whole 20 odd years I was there. Car head lights picked up his eyes on the edge of a country lane late at night. Since I moved to Manchester (close to the inner city) I've seen many more scuttling around, all in the middle of the day too.

    Henry David Thoreau Good Morning, Stars, Eye Walden ch. 18 (1854) "I saw deep in the eyes of the animals the human soul look out upon me. I saw where it was born deep down under feathers and fur, or condemned for a while to roam four-footed among the brambles,I caught the clinging mute glance of the prisoner and swore that I would be faithful." You caught lightening in a bottle in this delightful fox feeding show. Majestic creatures, the lightening quickness, alertness, roaming curiosity, all honed with incredible instincts, just a pure joy to behold. The wonders of God's creation. Ty, for sharing and bringing watermelon size smiles across the world on youtube. New US subscriber.

    Love it. I like to spend some time at night watching local foxes and putting out food for them. I'm also in glasgow in the east end. There seems to be a few little foxes around they have been very active lately. I've taken to going out every night and leaving bits of food for them however there has been some items they havent ate. I left raw carrot pieces but they never got ate I also left watermelon chunks around but hardly any of them were ate either. I left a chunk of salmon out too though and I keep seeing a fox return to the place I left that so I'm going to try leaving some other different things about. It's also the end of the foxes breeding season right now so I am hoping to see some Cubs before too long. Wish I could catch some rodents and let them lose at night when theres a couple of foxes nearby just to watch them hunt. For some reason it is bringing me some joy to be able to feed the foxes and seeing them running away to hide the food I give them. Chicken roll is a great idea though need to try that one

    Probably a mother (or even a father, because they help bring up the babies) with young to feed. Also foxes, like cats, don't overeat because fat foxes make bad hunters. Once they have eaten enough, they will take the rest and bury it somewhere - something for a rainy day.

    Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Here in the USA there is so much unregulated building going on with no Respect for wildlife whatsoever... Has forced them into urban situations. I live on the corner of two very busy roads With a small amount of woods to the side and back of me. I have a small flock of chickens that free range around the yard while we are there during the day.I heard the chicken commotion Yesterday, ran out of the house, To find one of my chickens in the mouth of a very skinny and ragged looking poor Adult Fox. I was able to scare him to drop the chicken who promptly ran down the street lol The Fox ran to the back yard and then was trying to get and almost succeeded Another chicken he was chasing all of my girls. I scared him and he ran across the street and down into a well established suburban neighborhood. They now know my chicken coop as a much needed source of food. Please advise me on what I could leave out for the wild foxes to eat, or any other carnivore who feels they would want it. I thought about cut up chicken pieces, But I wasn't sure if they would go for dead food. Poor foxes need our help to survive this terrible position humans have put them in. Thank you kindly in advance for any help.

    Feeding increases the population unnaturally leading to problems like mange that can spread like wildfire. We have that here partly as a result of people feeding them. IF you insist on feeding it should be good quality that will not compromise their health -like no jam/peanut butter sandwiches, donuts shit like that. Let them mostly fend for themselves - they did before you were there and there are plenty of mice, squirrels, etc. in cities. If you must feed, make it chicken, boiled eggs, lean ground beef, other good protein sources.

They eat mice and rats among other things. So they do an excellent job keeping the rat and mice population at bay.

    Sadly you'll see a lot of foxes that have been injured at sometime in their lives - cars being the obvious hazard, but they can have accidents with things like fences, netting in gardens and stuff like that. They are really quite lightweight creatures, with slender bones. Especially when their fur is thick in winter and with their long bushy tails, they look quite big at a distance, but when you get close to them you realise they are really quite small. Typically they weigh somewhere between 4 and 6 kg, which is no more than a typical domestic cat.

  • @adolforodolfo6929

    @adolforodolfo6929

    It's good that they run away. I fed a family of foxes (mum, dad and three young ones) for most of this year, but was careful not to try to tame them in any way. If they saw me coming with the food, then they ran away - but not very far, because sometimes I could see them watching me from bushes. As soon as I'd gone back indoors, they would come out and eat the food. I'm glad I did it, because all three of the babies stayed very healthy, including one who was much smaller than the other two and that we got very fond of. The boy babies moved away around October/November, which is normal, and the little female cub stayed with her mum. In the last two weeks I have suddenly acquired a very tame fox friend who comes to my back door and sits looking in until I notice her/him and come out with some food, which he/she will take from my hand. Maybe it's one of our old family who has suddenly decided I'm not so scary after all, but more likely it is a newby who has paired up with one of our local foxes and had already become tame somewhere else. I really enjoy it being around, but there are rules; I only feed it once a day, and only a smallish sachet of dog food plus a small tasty snack, because I don't want it being dependent on me for food. To be fair, it generally only comes to visit once a day and isn't pushy; it's really relaxed, eats what it's given and toddles off when it's all gone.

    I find that the neighbor cat does not view dog treats as edible! Also, whole eggs in the shell. (I have a feeling hardboiled ones might be less messy than raw, but they'll take either...) Things to avoid, at least healthwise, would be chocolate and onions (same as with cats and dogs), rawhide chews, and cooked bones? Basically, if it's safe for a dog or cat, a fox will likely eat it.

    adge610220 Foxes only come out in the city after is dark. I put the food out for them only at night, that way other creatures ( mostly slugs in my garden) don’t have enough time to get to it. I also make a sound, a call sometimes to let them know the food is out. Most nights I don’t have to call them because they’re already waiting outside my window 😊

  • @adolforodolfo6929

    @adolforodolfo6929

    Tinned dog food is perfect, they thrive on it. Most cats won't eat it (fussy buggers), so you're OK there. As for birds, particularly gulls and crows, they will eat it, but not at night because they aren't active after dark. The best time to put food out for foxes is a little while after sunset, when it's starting to get dark. Foxes are very active then and generally at their hungriest, so the food will be eaten very quickly, especially once they get used to it being available at that time.

    What are you feeding them? My foxes in Ireland love to eat the Bramley apples that fall from the tree. One morning they woke me with their crunching!

    There was a reason God chose people to feed his other beings. (Not, I did not say animals. Those who walk on two legs are more animals than beings.) It was to show Him that some of us care.

    @@PrintScreen. A little bread does them no harm at all; foxes are not obligate carnivores in the way that cats are. In the wild, they eat lots of things besides meat. Bottom line is that anything that is OK for a dog to eat is OK for a fox.
