Foxes are fun. Theres a wild one here. I would hand feed it beef jerky or granola bars. It would take it and dart off. But one night, i put whipped cream on a plate, and that was it. Instant tame. Petting, ear scratches, whatever. For as long as there was whipped cream on the plate. It knows the can now and will hop up on my leg like a dog begging for more.

My friend said the raccoons at their farm didn’t eat most of the chickens they beheaded, which is part of what was shocking to her. Nevertheless, seems like you’ve found a great and humane solution. BTW, I watched a large raccoon, for about 30 minutes, washing its hands, drinking water, and I think eating bugs out of a small human made “pond” fed by fresh piped-in water, in a friend’s backyard last summer. This reminds me of when I was a kid. We lived in the surburbs and had an indoor/outdoor cat so we'd leave a bowl of food outside for him. Naturally, we had some nocturnal animals come through. A possum, a skunk, and a few raccoons. The raccoons we saw the most and it got to the point that my dad once hand fed them vanilla oreo cookies. Not the chocolate ones. He'd lean out the window, they'd reach up to take it and they'd eat it. One summer, we had one of those pop up pools. We kept it covered to keep the bugs out of it at night. Well, one night we hear a squabbling outside. We go to check it out and it's the racoons. They had found their way under the cover and into the pool and were fighting over the rubber ducky.

A lot of people respect animals. There’s people who go out there and rescue and save abandoned and injured animals and take care of them and bring them back to health and set the animals free to be in their own natural environment. People have had pets for centuries and don’t put them in tight spaces or small cages. They love their pets like their own babies and let their pets play outdoors to get fresh air, they’re fed well and get veterinary help when their sick, also, it’s better than taking meds for depression or anxiety. And zoos have been around for a couple centuries..they take care of the animals 24/7, and will live a lot longer than in the wild and adults and kids get an education about the animal. It makes people happy. Everyone appreciates and respect animals. Who said that people don’t? It’s odd how some people see animal video’s similar to this one and need to say, “It’s about time someone appreciates animals”, or your comment about people respecting animals. If you actually notice and read about it or visit places that has animal sanctuaries or even the zoo, you’ll see that the employees and the animals are perfectly happy. There’s nothing wrong in having pets, they show love and appreciation back because they know they’re safe and loved. I don’t get how some people actually think animals aren’t appreciated or think it’s awful to have a pet. I rather save an animal than let it be abandoned or in danger for other wildlife’s prey. I’m so glad I rescued my first two cats that were found abandoned since they were kittens and my friends found another kitten left alone and I volunteer to take a couple, so they won’t be attacked by other stray dogs or cats or even by coyotes. So glad most of this world has a pet or five! Lol

I live in London & have had around 4 generations of foxes that pretty much live in my back garden. London foxes are quite urban & not nocturnal as we see them at all times of the day. I feed them every day whatever the weather & have been doing so for many many years. There was one in particular a female who passed away last year Foxilee, who would always come when I called her & take the chicken right out of my hand. That’s trust for you but I had known her & her mom before both since infancy. They are super intelligent, very inquisitive & once they trust you will even come into the house in summer when the doors are open & take a seat. They are wild foxes & I never pet them but do name them and notice how different their personalities are. They are so adorable. I hate how they are vilified. I have had cats the entire time & have never lost one to a Fox. One of my cats used to eat from the same container as them at the same time & they never showed the slightest aggression towards my cat who could definitely take care of herself. They can be skittish & shy around strangers.

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 I’ve lived here for 23 years & there are lots of cats in the neighbourhood who visit my garden. My last 2 cats died of old age at 20 & 22. I have an 8 yr old now who goes out unsupervised every day & night too & they all co exist very well. She doesn’t run away when she sees them. Maybe as you say it’s because they are well fed, and maybe it’s genetics as it has been a few generations of the same family & they have become conditioned to being with cats but my experience with them has been without incident. A bout 3 years ago I gave them an old teddy as they love to play with stuff & they love it chasing around after the one that has it. The Teddy is always in the garden and to date is fully intact. Not torn apart with the stuffing ripped out of it, if the teddy was given to a dog I don’t quite think it would share the same fate. By the way I love dogs & had an English bull terrier who passed away some years ago. She was raised with the foxes & never chased them, or other cats, she just saw them as other dogs I think. One of my cats used to come on our walks when we used to go out as they were super attached. I do really think it’s conditioning as I had a hamster that only slept in her cage & was always out roaming around which is quite something as I had 2 cats at the same time. One cat basically ignored her whilst the other a male loved her & she would climb all over him. Friends were always shocked when they witnessed this. Ha ha. I think all animals can be taught that just because another is smaller it doesn’t make them prey & that they are all part of a pack. It does require patience & calmness though. Although as in any species you always have rogues. 😁

@@sonyg9018 I love that. :) I saw a sad video recently on a KZread channel named “A Chick Called Albert,” and a fox was getting in his yard and eating his pet ducks/chickens. It was awful. He did a great job though, as he humanely caged the fox to transport him to a different territory. He obviously wasn’t conditioned, and was hungry! (The fox, not the man lol 😂)

This is a great thing to see!! My dog would be going ballistic barking. I know because I have some doe deer who like to sleep in my front yard. Bella barks if she sees or smells them. Mazzy is so good. One night, I’m sitting in bed reading on my iPad and I see a doe walking in front of my bedroom window. She laid down and went to sleep. Bella was asleep and didn’t wake when the doe walked by. It’s magical to see wildlife knowing it’s safe to let their guard down. Thank you for sharing.

Too often treated as pests & vermin, they also get blamed for things they don't do or for doing what foxes do do. They are far too maligned when they are actually quite gentle, shy & fearful of us-- as they should be, sadly. How wonderful this young lady sees their beauty & sweetness too! Last year I was playing a round of golf with a friend of mine, when suddenly a fox appeared from out of the bushes next to the tee-box.. i was just about to tee-off, but stepped away, when i saw him/her come out.. The fox noticed us quite late and stopped and i slowly moved back a bit more, as he was maybe within 4 or 5 meters of me. After a little while of just looking at each other the fox went over to my golf-ball and started playing with it.. (don't worry, other golfers.. there were no flights behind us, so we didn't cause any delay). We thought this was pretty funny, and i made some pictures, but obviously we kept some distance. I then took another ball and my friend and I started to continue our game from one of the other tee-boxes, and then the fox disappeared back into the bushes (I think the sound of hitting the driver scared it), so i then went back to the initial tee-box to get my ball back. The ball got lost in a water hazard a few holes later, but I'm sure the fox had a fun time :)

We had a Den of baby foxes in front of our house for quite awhile...someone called animal control (for no reason I can figure!😑) and they came & took mom & all the kits. Dad kept coming back, looking for them-it was so sad-but believe it or not, the yearling kits came back! They stayed with dad, hunting & playing, for about 6 months before they stopped coming around. Mom never did come back. I've always hoped that she's okay! Foxes are very cat-like in both their play & their actions. And they're charming animals who are beautiful to watch! 😍🦊

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 most people don't have pet chickens, in my area they are considered livestock anyways, but I would guess you'd have to put chickens into a coop or other enclosure at night, and probably should anyways for their own well being, and I imagine a heated space would be important when it's cold out. And other easy fox food pets like rabbits should also be kept inside imo, but that's a whole other issue. I'd recommend a channel like "Lennon the Bunny" for that kind of stuff. Besides chickens and such, dogs and cats are seen more as equals by foxes, and not prey. Foxes aren't the same threat to pets as coyotes or bob cats or anything like that. And I should know, I lived where bob cats chilled on the yard wall every morning. Also owls and hawks...they're way bigger threats to pets like cats or smaller dogs.

A couple of years ago, red foxes made a den in the yard of a vacation house, and raised 3 kits. I still occasionally see one in broad daylight, which is really a treat. Once, one ambled past our shed, not knowing our dog, nearly the same size, was out. It was funny to see how surprised they both were. We also saw one on the sidewalk on Independence Blvd in DC, one night after attending the IMAX at the Air & Space museum.

It wasn’t that long ago in the United Kingdom that they were debating whether or not to keep hunting foxes on horseback. So it’s nice to see them relaxed.

Yeah, kits, pups or cubs are all acceptable. Myself, I exclusively use the word kit though, because it differentiates baby foxes from other species. A pup can be anything from a young mouse to a young shark. A cub can be anything from a young wolf (I find this weird, since wolves are basically the OG dogs; they should have puppies, not cubs) to a young lion or bear (oh my!). But kit is less widely used, and its most common meaning (in this baby animal context at least) is that of a young fox. If you're talking about a pup, people will assume it's a dog (or if you're on a boat, they'll assume you are referring to a seal); a cub, people will assume to be a wolf or bear. But a kit...nobody uses that word in the normal course of life (except in it's non-animal meaning), so if you refer to "the kits" you've been watching grow up in your backyard, they won't assume anything at all. It's devoid of confusing connotations.

Thank you for sharing this and thank you for having such a rich and positive attitude towards the little foxes. They’re wonderful and so beneficial to our environment. They are so helpful in keeping down the rodent population among other positive aspects of the beautiful little fox. I enjoyed watching this and listening to the lady share her excitement and watching her dogs curiosity over them 🥰😊

I have been blessed with a female fox named "Foxy." She and I are inseparable and that's how we both want it to be. A fox, which naturally, is a "wild animal", is not for everyone, because there's a lot to learn prior to being able to properly care for and love one, but they're worth your time and effort.

And I heard you need to basically not have a sense of smell since fox pee stinks more than rotten eggs, moldy mold, barf, diarrhea, unhygienic piss- in a gamers room fool of them mixed in one. Yet I would rather smell a foxes pee than all above.

Find a local wildlife rescue to help you return your fox to the wild where it belongs. You are being selfish.
