    In order to reduce the thickness of the neck you will need an electronic caliper to measure at the 1st fret , the 10th fret, 17th fret to know where you`re starting from and where to stop. The maple neck is hard wood so you`ll need an electric sander plus 80 ,120, 240, 400 sand papers.

    I bought this bass too, for 86 bucks you can’t beat it. Glad you did the flat wounds. I don’t care for the neck either but for as much as I need a bass (guitar guy) it’s fine. Wondering what other pickups might sound like, maybe you’ll do a vid with a good option?

    I saw a video on their P bass and the neck and body wasn't fully attached. So I was a little skeptical on buying one. But I bought the Wood Green version which is actually beautiful for $80 on eBay and it came with a crappy strap crappy cord and a crappy amplifier. But with that said the base itself at that price point is actually not only very playable but it seems very nice. Now the strings are garbage and I would replace those and I had to adjust my action just a tad but out-of-the-box it was pretty much ready to play for a beginner wouldn't have any complaints if I had bought it at my first bass guitar. I've been playing for 30 years and have had some beautiful instruments through the years.

    I love my Glarry JB. I love the baseball bat neck, and the fret ends on mine aren't bad. For electronics, I had a complete control plate taken off of a Fender Jazz Bass that I paired with some Wilkinson WOJB pickups. And honestly, I'm not so sure it was worth swapping them. In my experience, the tuners are kind of crappy. Mine are rough and shed the chrome plating when you restring. Plus, if you put too much tension on the string while winding them, the gears disengage. But it somehow stays in tune just fine. Overall, absolutely worth buying, you don't even need a reason.

  • @RumblinMan

    @RumblinMan

    Thanks for sharing bro! Yeah, I think maybe some of the Glarry's vary with setup slightly model to model. The P I had didn't have any fret issues. For me the only downside, really, is the neck. To me, it's not comfortable to play. But some seem to like it!

  • @RumblinMan

    @RumblinMan

    Man, it’s chunk-city. I would compare them to the thickest old baseball bat you can find, but with NO finish. This bass in particular had one of the worst necks I’ve ever encountered.

    Rumbling man,What's up it's been a while! I'm pro Glarry all the way,I really think we're watching the birth of a guitar legend here with Glarry,I've said it before,everyone starts somewhere,look at the first fender p bass,it was a basic slab body,no bells or whistle's bass, then over time it got improved,if you've noticed with Glarry,every time they launch something new it's a bit better than the last,yes the price tag goes up,but eventually I think their going to be putting out pro level,Fender comparable instruments. I don't know if you've seen the GP 2s yet,(you should try to get one on the channel!) But their as good as a squier if not better,they got stock Wilkinson pickups,a synthetic bone nut,their nice looking basses,glarrys doing a run of like 150 of the first run,I'm hoping to get one,not only to go with my custom Glarry 5 string jazz,which brings me to another Glarry I highly recommend you checkout,the 5 string jazz is KILLER, way better quality than the 80$ basses.
