I heartily concur ! It's one of my all time favorite songs. And even though John Payne is no Percy Helton, he's a handsome gent with a sweet singing voice !

Great song, John Payne and June Haver enjoyable actors, John always very good singer in the Fox musicals especially those with Betty Grable. Would be nice to see more of the movie clips musical numbers. Thanks for the video.

In 1977 there was a commercial with this song to: '"Give Me the Campbell Life." (Soup)

I just love the film. My son, now 33 and I watched this film together when he was a wee one. I have looked and looked for a copy to no avail. I would love for my little grandson to enjoy this timeless classic. Can anyone out there help me. Thanks Spacecomics for posting. You give this sentimental old fool a bit of hope.

As I do when I take off my hat, you make a good point !!

I guess we both have the same taste in music. I rented some of John's movies from Netflix, if they had them. I even Goggled images of John and turned them into wallpapers. I'm just a hopeless romantic!

John Payne was a good, appealing actor who made a good number of musicals and was a better than competent singer.

Pardon me for sounding like Mr. Know-It-All when it come to jazz vocal groups of the 40's, but I'm quite positive that the uncredited swing vocal group (singing with the 20th Century Fox orchestra) on the jukebox are The Lyttle Sisters. Definitely not the Merry Macs. Many of the dozens of 40's swing vocal groups had their own distinctive sound, and these sound exactly like The Lyttle Sisters, who were actually the four Gourly Sisters, who sang regularly with Tony Martin. Also they can be heard singing in the Fox film "Margie," made this same year. The year before these film came out, The Lyttle Sisters, again uncredited, were beautifully showcased singing "I Hope The Band Keeps Playing" in a nightclub scene in "Abbott and Costello in Hollywood." (1945).

every year or so I'll check this clip to see if anyone answers my quest to find the group who sings this on the Juke box and I believe you've got it . Thank you Sandaglad, I've already heard a clip of Easter Parade with Fred Astair "Steppin out with my baby ",singing by the Lyttle Sisters with the Meltones,I would agree its them.

Danny Hurtwiz the one in the diner who swings is the Actress June Haver great Actress in her time. She also starred in 3 Little girls In Blue.

Indubitably ! She went on to marry fellow actor Fred MacMurray, having a long & happy marriage til his death in 1995. She passed away in 2005.

Love John Payne! Remember "Restless Gun" on TV? Who is the little girl? Seems familiar! I love the old movies!

John Payne may be a somewhat bland actor among the male stars of Fox. But neither Dana Andrews nor Tyrone Power had an ounce of the singing talent that John had. As for Connie Marshall, what a wonderfully talented child actress ! If you like both of these stars, I would recommend "Sentimental Journey".

+pertinax ....Dana Andrews studied opera but gave it up and didn't let on that he could sing, his singing in "State Fair" by R&H was dubbed as he said he didn't sing, he was afraid that he'd end up in musicals and wanted to be in more dramatic roles. I'm currently reading a biography about him that came out in 2012. I think Connie Marshall was a gifted actress, unfortunately I haven't read anything about her so don't know if she continued acting as an adult. I loved her in "Sentimental Journey" also she did a movie with Dana Andrews and Peggy Ann Garner.

this song seems quite similar to the one moon doggie (james darren) sings to gidget (sandra dee) in the 1959 movie. interesting that they would pll it out of the file drawer so many years later.

I bought the movie in hopes to hear the rest f the song ,but on the clip is the full extent, no more than this ,short lived pleasures

JOHN PAYNE is a superior actor and its a matter of opinion,JOHN--JOEL MCCREA-- AND RANDOLPH SCOTT all superior western stars and that's that

Wow, that girl does NOT want to be there...

So this is where that God-awful Campbells Soup Song came from in the 70s....."Just give me the Campbell's Life!!!!"

This was one of the most disappointing movies ever! It had a promising cast: John Payne, June Haver and Charlotte Greenwood but no real musical numbers, terrible color and extremely boring!
