I haven't seen any of these movies, but John Payne was a terrific actor. And so versatile. I mean, his filmography is all over the place. He excelled at everything from musicals with Alice Fahey and Betty Grable, to Westerns like you show here, to some very intense Noirs and crime thrillers. Recently I saw him in a very good crime thriller called The Boss (1956), which I highly recommend. The man deserved much more attention and appreciation that he's been given. But he was blessed with a very prolific career. Nice vide, Mike!

Thanks for these suggestions! John Payne is a fantastic actor. I've seen a few of his crime films, and notably Kansas City Confidential (1952) was fantastic. I'll check out some of his westerns. thanks!

Very nice tribute to Payne, Mike. I don’t think I have seen any of these titles. I knew Payne mostly for his TV western The Restless Gun in the late 50s when westerns were everywhere on the tube. And for his noirs like 99 River Street and KC Confidential and one I really love. Slightly Scarlet. I’m going to seek out some of the ones you mention. Love the enthusiasm.
