I think what’s most impressive is that her full twist stays in the air, while the majority of the gymnasts doing this vault fight against time to barely make the twist before landing on their feet.

@@oldhagloveg958 Did you not see her qualification score for worlds in 2019? She qualified in third ahead of downie. And in the final she would’ve beat even Carey if she didn’t make any mistakes on her first fault in the final.

I doubt she will beat Biles this time but she won 1st ahead of Biles a few years back so that would be crazy to say she's not one of the best vaulters please she could definitely beat Jade and Downie

If you haven’t, you should check out Vanessa Atler’s attempt at the 1999 American Cup. She had a pretty nice one as well and it was done on the old vaulting horse.

Alicia had the best form. She pointed her toes. Steingruber never does.

I love her. She deserves to win a Vault medal in the Olympics. Paid her dues with a couple of medal wins in Worlds amd European.

I wish the US did individual event titles at some of the nationals. The athletes could get more used to that formate before going to international competitions.

Steingruber has a great chance for silver, she's consistent and strong. Jade, Ellie and Seojeong are often inconsistent or fall in the finals. Steingruber was robbed of the silver last time, she'd definitely be after it this time. Also I'm hoping Simone doesn't bite more than she can chew, she shouldn't try the over-difficult vaults like Tty or double pike in the finals and fall. She doesn't need to prove anything to the world anymore, she's already established as the GOAT.

I hope that thigh muscle heals. Would love to see her in the finals in Tokyo. Even winning a medal maybe.... you never know at that point.

she is no longer with blonde hair, but she is always very beautiful and good.

She's about the closest you can come to doing this vault like Alicia Sacramone did it. Ellie Downey with the Cheng that Rudi off with or without the yurchenko and half onto table or not. They all do this vault the absolute best. Idk its the power and lift and heel drive before the twist even begins. Now Biles and Carey do the Cheng quite amazingly. But this type of powerful heel drive I don't think is taught I think you either can do it this way or you can't.

Second vault was EXTREMELY over-scored.

Watching this final was so boring until she came along. Everyone was doing meh vaults until she came to teach the children how it's done.

That sounds like Shannon Miller or Amanda Borden to me. The British guy sounds a bit like Mitch Fenner, but I know it can't be him since he died in 2016.
