Even though she fell, I love that she goes for it. Many gymnast choose the very “safe” routines that doesn’t show their artistry. I love that her routines are very fun and edgy.

So many years in top shape. She is definitely a super human. All my respect for Melnikova.

I adore her. She’s clearly got a lot to offer on floor. Clearly this wasn’t her day, but she’s well on her way to regaining her skills. I just hope shes not over doing it

She is such fun to watch. She goes from one extreme with such elegance and grace to the most entertaining falls. While it’s always heartbreaking to watch a gymnast fall, somehow she reminds us that this sport is fun and falls can be celebrated too. 😊

My heart goes out to her. Because I can tell that she is a fantastic talented gymnast. But she's going above and beyond the level of difficulty she can safely execute. I feel terrible for her because she's falling all over the place. Maybe pull back a little bit and consistently keep training and she'll get there. Obviously, I am from the US. And the Americans are going to kick a** in Paris. But I love watching Russian gymnasts. They're beautiful and they'retalanted, especially on beam.

@@KeeHart Yes. But there are some skills she just needs to remove. That roundoff+layout to 2 feet on beam. I can't tell you how many times she fell on a layout to 2 feet during her acro series at the beginning of her career.

@@You-dh1duI think that layout and the ring jump are the only problem skills that she consistently has problems on. The other ones are just from having a bad meet and not in great shape. In nationals a few months ago she was pretty strong.

I think she should take it slow up until 2024 . There was no need of this much difficulty especially since she rushed through the training to get her skills back.

​@@emilydiggle3653the ones that aren't associated with the military sports clubs (like CSKA) can and ones that haven't publicly supported the war. Angelina is out of luck on both counts, unless those restrictions change.

She actually looks to be in great shape. She seemed rushed and nervous. She just needs to put in more hard endurance training and repititions. Did she take a long break? Also, her floor routine is fabulous. The 'avant-garde' dance style is wonderful. Always loved it. I hope the federations allow her and Listonova to compete in worlds and the olympics. As individuals separate from politics.

They have both attended pro war events in Russia, so the current rule of only allowing gymnasts who are not affiliated with the war to compete will definitely not apply to them

Oof rough day for her. In general, the Russians burn their gymnasts out too quickly and push too much difficulty when they aren't ready.

@@lonelyhorse5313 Of course Angelina is not as stiff as Jade. Jade’s stiffness is beyond saving. We know that. But Angelina’s artistry is not fluid enough, especially by this quad’s standard. Compare the fluidity of her movements to those of, say, Brooklyn Moors or Melanie DJDS and I think you’ll understand what I mean. After all, “stiff” is a relative term.

@@aguti7920 I doubt IOC will not allow them. IOC wanted Fig to allow russian gymnasts. And first Ukraine wanted Ukrainian athletes not to compete with russian but Ukraine backed down from it which is a hint that russian athletes will be allowed at the olympics

Quase não tem público nas competições de ginástica artística na Rússia, ao contrário da patinação artística que as arquibancadas sempre estão lotadas. Isso é meio triste porque a Rússia tem uma longa história com a ginástica artística, e ganhou o ouro por equipe na última olimpíada, isso deve ser desmotivador e frustrante pra essas ginastas russas, porque além delas não poderem competir mais no exterior, elas devem sentir falta de apoio.

Так Симона гостями амфетамины принимает и похоже ещё и тестостерон ! Акробатику показывает , да но растяжка у нее не очень , гибкости тоже не хватает и хореография никакая , жутко косолапит ! Из за препаратов очень маленький рост 1.45 ! Как раз именно амфетамины влияют на задержку в росте и именно маленький рост в гимнастике преимущество! Тестостерон даёт возможность накачать мускулатуру по мужскому типу , отсюда и мощная акробатика , но это нельзя назвать честным спортом !

@@lyd2460 но не честно ! С хореографией у Американок не очень ! Соперники есть - Бразилия подтягивается , Китай может себя проявить , да и у Симоны оценки тоже 14.5 примерно , сложность высокая а техника на 8.2 из 10 баллов ! На Олимпиаде в Японии без таблеток вообще не смогла выступать

It’s not like when people without ADHD take Ritalin - it brings her to baseline ‘normal’ brain function of dopamine. And show me the study that says Ritalin affects height to such an extent that it would make her so tiny. She was always going to be a small woman, just as many are who are not gymnasts who take Ritalin. I am older than Simone, and I also take ADHD medication. Despite my “amphetamines” giving me such an apparently huge advantage, I am not Simone Biles. No drug in the world can give someone the ability to do what she does, especially not one that mostly just helps keep you awake because otherwise your brain runs through all its supply of dopamine before lunchtime.

I’m Russian so I understand everything the commentators said during the broadcast. I just want to tell you that during the warm-up the woman praised her for her PIKED JAEGER saying that the fact that she always maintains such a perfect pike position throughout makes it so good MY JAW DROPPED I know that she is always talking a lot of nonsense because of her age but that remark shocked me the most🫢

I have never seen geyla like this ever. Her bars were messy, two falls on beam (falling out of a wolf turn!) and just having no juice in the tank on floor. Her chuso was scary. I know they aren’t competing internationally but they’ve seriously regressed. I wonder if it’s time for her to focus on her other endeavors and take a year off.

Its too bad their country's government is making them not be allowed to show this amazing talent elsewhere =\ has to be horrible. And still they train and work their best to do the sport they love the most. A shame.

I was thinking for some reason she retired. Obviously not. This was not her best meet😔

I guess the Russian female gymnasts don’t work with teachers from the Bolshoi anymore, which really showed on this gymnast’s floor routine. She is really good, but she just didn’t look comfortable with her dancing which seemed awkward.

She seemed very off this day

I feel bad for her 😢 you could see the wobble on her beam mount mount rattled her a bit then she tried to compose herself and do her round off layout. She should have taken a breath then went into it. I mean, after all the years she’s devoted to gymnastics… just take the breath.

Even if Russians were allowed to compete, Melnikova has nowhere near the difficulty, execution, or consistency to beat Simone. Her form has regressed since last quad and she wasn't close to beating Simone back then, either. Only Andrade could mount a real challenge.

Ummmm...NO. she would not give Biles a run for her money😂. They r in 2 totally different classes. When Simone is referred to as the GOAT it's not just hype. She's got the receipts to back it up. Let's put it this way: Simone resides on planet earth totally by herself and everyone else lives on Uranus or Pluto.

Looked like an ambitious approach - I think she's been injured. Ridiculous they still have Russians banned as a team. Not helping the world situation at all by punishing athletes.

The entire Russian gymnastics program needs to figure out why their athletes have horrible form on vault. It’s been like this for like 14 years.

Have they shortened the time allowed on balance beam? She seems to be really rushing to get her routine done and it's leading to falls. Actually, she looked rushed on all 4 apparatus like she's trying to perform at Simone Biles speeds instead of her own natural tempo.
