After rewatching VSFS 01, I can finally decide that Gisele has the best walk, it’s just insane the power she puts on her feet’s. I love Carmen tho❤️

Carmen had a wonderful look for high fashion. I think Gisele became a much bigger name because she had more commercial appeal.

OMG! Love this clip and the runway comparison footage. Gisele and Carmen were definitely the Biggest Stars along with Karolina Kurkova and Mariacarla Boscono during the late 90s until mid 2000 on the runway. Gisele and Carmen have their signature walk and its really hard to say who is better. You can't compare. Its just like Naomi and Yasmeen. Both are fierce on the runway. It's a tie for me. :)

Completely agree! Seems every generation there will be the queens of the runway through their signature and destructive walks, Naomi & Yasmeen in the 90s, Giselle & Carmen in the 00’s. Both are queens and equals. 2010s I think Karlie Kloss, Gigi, Bella dominated. 2020’s I see Kia Gerber as a early catwalk queen!

@@orvincastanares1439 Bella/Gigi? Lmao. They improved but far from being runway icons. Early 2010s is definitely Karlie and Joan Smalls era. There are girls like Kate Grigorieva and Sasha Luss too, although they weren't as big. Late 2010s going to early 2020s has to be Adut and Kaia. Imaan and Yasmin are also great but they aren't booking as many shows as those two.

Gisele's walk is energetic. It's more rhythmic. Carmen is soft and feminine. Both are great but Gisele is my favorite

Wow both of their walks are so similar when walking side by side like this. Truly amazing walks.

For me it’s both but for different reasons. Gisele nice bouncy energetic elegance. Carmen very graceful luxury type walk.

While Gisele puts a lil more base in her walk, Carmen’s more relaxed with some swag in it. But I love them both!❤️❤️

Both are incredible. But, in my view, the walk of the gisele transcends every model of a generation. I don't know how, but she manages to cross her legs while walking on very high heels and, still, she is versatile and when it is when the show asks for a model of attitude and unique sensuality she fulfills it.

Carmen is so iconic, but Gisele do it better!! Just look at the catwalks..

@Fall Winter 2005 i think her posture was bad and she never had like one signature move. like carmen bounces her arms behind her back and gisele always has one “dead” arm. you could put a bag on their heads and you would still know it’s them. meanwhile colette just has a basic 00’s horse stomp

I remember looking through magazines back in the day (late 90's-early 00's) where these two were always featured in ads and editorials together. I love Gisele, but my heart has always been w/ Carmen. I love her FU attitude so much.

Much better than Gisele besides Gisele always did tacky Victoria's Secret shows. On the other hand, Carmen was more focused on High Fashion and Luxury Brands because she has more class and beauty than Gisele.

I like Carmen’s body more than Gisele’s. She has wider hips, beautiful natural breast, long neck, shaped thights. Gisele is narrow as a board. Due to it she had her breast enlargement. I dont necessrilly say it looks bad. But it doesn’t have the right charm as Carmen’s.

I have always preferred Carmen's walk. Carmen can change up her walk depending on the mood of the show and the music. I love Gisele's walk too, but its always the same. Naomi also has this feature of always having the same walk. They are all great regardless.

That's what I always say. Gisele and Naomi are one-trick ponies. Naomi the black panther and Gisele with her horse stump are both fierce, but they mastered those walks. Carmen could go trashy and slutty in Baby Phat (LOL) or elegant and graceful in Haute Couture.

Yes, it's true that Gisele looks down during most of her walks... it gives her something fresh, but lifting her dress and looking down to her feet are 2 mistakes that Naomi points out in her show "The Face". She asks a candidate : - Why did you come out looking down to your feet ?" Yells to another : - Don't look down, it looks insecure ! Finally, during her altercation with Nicole, she says : "You do not touch your dress" Obviously, Gisele is the ubermodel, that's why no one dares to underline it, but it would have definitely been criticized, if she had been a random model....

I really prefer Carmen. Gisele is more stressed out (she states it nowadays : anxiety was her problem). Look at that walk at 0:55 --> Gisele has to touch her dress and fears she may fall // Carmen just walks and nails it.

Seeing them side by side, Gisele definitely has a more aggressive and bouncy walk (at times a little sloppy as she does have a tendency to drift sideways and look down a lot, though not much in this clip), whereas Carmen's feels more restrained and controlled. I like the energy Gisele brings, but at times I think it is better to tone it down. Her signature horse strut can be a bit too overwhelming for some collections. I would say Carmen has the more classic walk that has aged better. But Gisele is still the ubermodel.

Carmen moves better. Not taking anything away from Gisele, but the classic runway walk just seems to come more natural to Carmen.

As your side by side runway comparisons show Gisele and Carmen were pretty much the same person. They are and were at their hayday no compitition to each other but really close good friends. Both the runway Queens encourages each other not tried to sabitoge each other's career. (Naomi and Tyra). They almost even look alike it's kinda spooky. Miss both these girls on the runway. Real talk.
