It's part of Brazilian culture and language to speak with the body, I only understood that when a Canadian friend pointed it out. He couldn't understand the directions a Brazilian gave him, but he managed to find his way around because we speak with our hands, body, face, everything. Some people think it`s beautiful, warming, expressive, but some confuse it with being exaggerated or flirty as well. That's why I think people kinda don't understand Bunchen's girly way of speaking. It's almost as if a pure child was talking her mind out. She is very truth to her self, even when she jokes about not looking to her cleavage, or when she is aware of her high and removes her shoes. She is an honest and pure person. That's why Brazilians hold her so high up. We love her.

MonAdieu Como o pessoal está comentando ae nos comentários, a partir do momento q vc aprende um idioma depois da aadolescência dificilmente vc vai perder o sotaque, n importa o país, região etc, Tu sempre vai ter sotaque

Linkhy Sim, eu sei da dificuldade que adultos têm para aprender um idioma e falar com fluência. Mas Gisele não começou a ser modelo no exterior cedo? Eu também imaginava que, por ter um marido gringo, ele a ajudaria em questão relativa a pronunciação das palavras. Sem contar, é claro, que o meio em que ela trabalha tem muitos estrangeiros falando em inglês, o que deveria facilitar ainda mais.

Não entendi essa conversa. O que tem a ver falar bem em inglês e ter sotaque? Eu sempre gosto de deixar claro no meu sotaque eu sou brasileiro, acho rídiculo tentar emular um, o importante é conseguir se comunicar de maneira clara.

Você é um mônga... não sabe nem falar inglês e fica tentando comentar em inglês. E pior, sobre uma brasileira e com outros brasileiros, também comentando em inglês 🤦‍♂️... Por isso no Brasil, os nomes das empresas e palavras do dia-a-dia, são todas em inglês, porque o povo não é patriota e tem vergonha de ser brasileiro.

Bruno Henrique When an adult (even a young one) learns another language the accent will always be there. It becomes less perceptible with time and practice but it doesn't disappear. It's a lot easier for children.

+Bruno Henrique Os paulistas costumam pegar o sotaque americano e perder o sotaque latino, assim como os goianos também, mineiros, até por conta da própria estrutura linguística destes estados. Já cariocas, sulistas em geral e nordestinos, estes não perdem o sotaque nem matando rsrsrs...

+abelsincain Actually, that's not true. :) You can consciously abolish the accent (or even pick up another one). It just takes time and practice (with every effin word) to do so. And it also depends on how attentive to details is your hearing. :)

For those who complain about Gisele Bündchen's accent : Being bilingual or trilingual is somehow common in Brazil. Portuguese is the mother tongue. Spanish is the language of our neighboring countries. And most have a European family ancestry and some of them can speak the language of that ancestry. It also depends on the region we're talking about, since Brazil is a huge country. The southeast and south have a greater influence of German and Italian cultures, for example. There are cities that many inhabitants still communicate with each other using the German language or some German dialect. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English - which we learn since the first grade - and German, my grandparents' mother tongue. Statistics show that the vast majority of Americans are monolingual. Come on ! Learning another language makes you more cultured, informed about how life occurs in other countries, makes you look very smart and proves you aren't that so lazy one who is stuck to your native language only. And don't ever lose your accent entirely. It'll always remind you about your roots and origins. Well, that wasn't a personal thing, ok ?
