Really lovely video and very well put together. We're off on Marella Voyager September 2024 as a first ever cruise. Hopefully we will have as much fun as you both did.

Thanks for this great video and review of your cruise on Discovery 2,We sailed on Discovery back in September 2019 around the Greek Islands for a week and stay holiday in Corfu, and absolutely loved it.We are now booked to go on Discovery 2 this September,2023,and your video has been a great help indeed,our last cruise was on deck 7,but our cruise this year is deck 6,and our two friends are staying in the same cabin you did, and we are next door in cabin 6590.there are slight differences but Im sure we'll be fine,Your photographing and filming of your resorts were very helpful as we have one or two similar ports we are docking in..Did you do Rome on the Tui organised excursion? as I'm aware its a very long day. And is it exhausting and worth it? Have you got anymore cruises planned at all?

Hi Margaret, thank you so very much for your kind comments. This was my first cruise and so I wanted to film the two weeks as a memory, but then came up with the idea to compile the video so it may help others looking to cruise on this boat. I could of used some much more footage but the video would of been way too long. With regard to Rome we decided with the exception of two day trips to use the local transport including trains, buses and port transport as not only did it save money but it also added to the day, we just had to ensure the transport would return us for the all aboard time. Our favourite day out was Sorrento / Pompeii but every day was honestly incredible. Thank you again for your kind comments and wishing you a fantastic cruise for September.

@@GingerCarpman Also,as we are on board for 2 weeks,we think booking Tui excursions for all our days exploring will be far too expensive, We will use some of their trips,maybe 4/5 otherwise we will do our own thing,I'm still undecided about the Rome excursion, because its a long one,and you dont get to see all you want to see,if that makes sense?

Every day we visited somewhere and we decided before the cruise we would be a little adventurous and try to plan out the transport for most of the places we were docked. It saved us so much money, and it also added to the day rather than being sat on a coach. The only trip that was very difficult was to Pisa as the week previous we had a choice of Florence or Pisa and chose Florence which was a 2 hour train journey. The following week we docked in a different port for the day so getting to Pisa as you saw on the video was very tricky and involved three buses, train and the port bus from Piambino so left us limited time at Pisa itself. Rome was actually quite easy on the train to Rome Termini, and then we walked to the Colliseum first and then all of the sites but it was a long day especially with the heat. We are hoping to book our next cruise soon for 2024 and would like to cruise the USA, as we already have a large family holiday booked this year in October for my father in laws 70th. With regards to the video I made I had an email from KZread to say it has just reached 3 thousand views which is incredible as I only made it originally as a memory but then re-edited to show people around the boat.

Looks a fantastic ship. Again which one please?

We are going on Discovery 2 for Christmas/new Yr this Yr really looking forward to it we just did christmas/new Yr 2022/23 on discovery we had an amazing time first time we've done Christmas & New Yr cruise we've done many cruises but not Christmas we do love marella cruises we have upgraded our drinks package in the past & also upgraded at Christmas but we really didn't feel we got our monies worth there was a shortage on many drinks in the upgraded package there was replaced drinks but not really what we wanted so we will not be upgrading in the future we've already upgraded for the Christmas/new Yr this Yr on Discovery 2 we are really hoping the shortages will be sorted out by then if not we will be sticking to the standard all in clusive package on future cruises

Hi Trina, if there was a slight negativity from the cruise was the fact you have to purchase Wi-Fi on the boat, and comes in packages of 1 day, 3 days, 7 days etc but each package also has a mb limit so we purchased the 3 day package which had a 800mb cut off limit so obviously video call would really cut into this amount and would say on average 45 minutes of video calling would use up your allowance. Apart from this the cruise / boat was simply amazing. Hope this helps 🙂

We flew from Southampton to Palma in Majorca as we did not want to waste any valuable time sailing from Southampton and was so easy as we were picked up from Palma Airport and taken directly to boat.

Or which grade of cabin you booked.

Hi Rex, it was a standard cabin but with a balcony instead of a window. Fantastic boat to cruise on.
