I fished Chira for 30yrs originally with John and Rex from tackle shop that used to be in Puerto Rico and then started hire a car with roof rack and go up to lake with wife for 3/4days fishing, then Alison and Dave started doing trips and yes I been let down numerous times from day trips to 3day breaks in their accommodation at the lake, from short notice cancellation to no reply, so make my own arrangements when I over there, hire car and take my own tackle/bait. It’s a cracking venue with loads of carp to 50lb and lure fishing for bass, o and I never seen a wasp up there no midges either to hot and dry. Plenty of lizards and spiders even terrapins the size of a dinner plate
Refreshing to know I am not the only one that experienced the issues as I did. As I have said they are both probably very nice people, but it just sounds like their customer service needs tweaking.
Dave ok but only fished with him for 1 day has he used to have guide work for him but Covid etc stopped him employing and he does guiding now, better of hiring car and going up to lake yourself and you can get there early and stop longer as the guided trips only short approx 5hrs fishing

I’ve fished chira for thirty years on and off And had no trouble whatsoever with wasps Maybe the odd tick but not wasps
every fish is bonus at least you caught some fish I have been 24 without a single bite another great video

I Lived in Gran Canaria for 6 years. Weather wise What you see on the coast is completely different to the weather the middle of the island experiences. The reasons the reservoirs are where they are is because of the wet weather and Lake Chira is in a big valley with dodgy roads. There’s no reason Dave and co would purposely cancel its lost revenue for them!

Sadly I just had to block them as they were continually making comments on viewers comments. Seems that many others have also experienced the same kind of issues as myself with this company so instead of trying to discuss my vlog and comments as slanderous and fake, try and spin the situation into improving your customer service which no matter what they say was lacking for me.

I fished with this company in mid October with my dad. Our first day got cancelled due to weather which I understood because of the heatwave we had. The day rearranged and was fine. I think you have to meet the couple who take you customer service is second to none! Honestly amazing fishing . And for the wasps they are everywhere up there! Sorry you didn’t get to go but they would of only cancelled due to a genuine reason. I know it’s annoying if you was hoping to go but if you ever went up the mountains the roads are abit high to say the least so safety is number 1
You really dont understand the mountains and the sudden change in climate in them i fished thier and we had to leave sharpish due to the sudden rain fall and the chance of being stuck due to landslides. They service was nothing but professional when i was thier i hardley think they would turn down money. It sucks you couldnt fish man. But it is dependant on weather I do agree you shpuld have been informed in better time an hour before is bullcrap unless the injury just happend.
Thank you for your comment. As I say I totally understand that inclement weather can cause a sudden cancellation, but my disappointment was I was originally booked for Thursday 19th and this was moved to Friday 20th for a medical appointment. Then 1 hour before pick up I received a notification that Fridays trip had been cancelled due to the tour guide getting wasp stings! Quite when he got stung is confusing also as he was not fishing Thursdsy due to the medical appointment so why cancel with an hour before pick up due to a reaction to a wasp sting? This date was then moved to Sunday 22nd, and then an hour later on the Friday I was told this day would likely be cancelled due to a incoming storm! So after writing two emails to them I never had a solitary reply to either and I would of just expected a bit of customer service with an email to apologise for not bring able to take me as the weather is one thing but 3 cancellations in 1 week was very frustrating, but as you say I expect they are a very nice couple but personally for me I just felt very disappointed with how the situation was dealt with.
He probably cancelled the trips due to probably having a hangover being on the drink and sniff the night before as hes known for it on Gran Canaria. Him and his missus are not popular people among the expata on the island.Due tp owing people money in the past. In the future youre better off going up to the lakes on your own. Apply for the foshong licence before you go over .As the lakes are not private

FOR ALL MY CLIENTS PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE………… AS THIS HAS BEEN BUGGING ME I THOUGHT I WOULD TELL MY SIDE OF THE STORY,OBVIOUSLY THIS PERSON WHO I HAVE NEVER MET IE GINGER CARPER I AM ACTUALLY GLAD I COULD NOT TAKE THIS GUY FISHING CONSIDERING I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG APART FROM BEING STUNG BY A WASP AND IN EXTREME AGONY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND HAVING 2 INJECTIONS UP MY BUM THE TRIP HAD TO BE POSTPONED ALONG WITH 2 OTHER CLIENTS WHO WERE FULLY UNDERSTANDING. HAVING CHANGED THE DATE TO ANOTHER DAY, WE THEN HAD TO CANCEL THIS DAY DUE TO A TAIL END OF A STORM ON ITS WAY TO PORTUGAL, OBVIOUSLY IF YOU ARE ON THE COAST YOU PROBABLY WOULD NOT REALISE BUT IN THE MOUNTAINS AT THE LAKE IT RAINED ALL DAY AND NIGHT, WITH A WEATHER REPORT SENT TO THIS PERSON,WHO HAS NOT GOT A CLUE ABOUT THE RISK ON THE MOUNTAIN ROADS WITH ROCK FALLS AND SLIPPERY ROADS, I DID NOT WANT TO PUT MYSELF AT RISK OR MY CLIENTS. SO ENOUGH SAID, ITS TOTAL BOLLOX THE VIDEO ON YOU TUBE!! ESPECIALLY USING OUR NAME TO GAIN MORE HITS!! Enjoy the vlog but suggest a rod right down the lake with island close in is not goog for you or the fish if it kites round behind it.
Thanks for the comment, and to be fair I did think should a fish take on that rod would have to keep it on the left side, but you are right in what you say. Only fished that bank on the one occasion, and was not ideal trying to net fish and getting down such a slippery bank so will stick to my normal swims for the winter. Glad you enjoyed the vlog.

Hi buddy, thanks for the message. Really was so frustrating to be dealt so many excuses when I had this planned for months. Certainly not the way to run a business and customer service was just horrendous. The last email they sent about the rocks blocking the mountain road there was no apology about letting me down but she finished the email with 'until the next time!'

Hi Peter, thankfully no money changed hands as they wanted 105 euros when they picked you up which seemed a lot of money to be honest but wanted to go so I could film as a one off. Hopefully anybody thinking of using this company will think twice after the way I was treated!

@carpfishinggrancanar if you look up the meaning of the word slander it is described as 'making statements, allegstions or actions that are un-true or unfounded. So by all means approach your lawyers but I believe you will be told the same that everything I have documented is based on true and actual events, and as I have made clear I have your emails to prove this. I booked with you months in advance and made clear I would be filming for a future video. If somebody had been stung by a wasp the day before, why did you not cancel in adequate time, or seek an alternative guide but instead you cancelled with less than an hour before pick up. I felt very let down by not only the fact I could not go fishing and film for a promoted video, but the fact you failed to respond to my email's. Customer service is rated on a customer's findings of dealing with a particular company, and my personal opinion was a very poor customer service. As I say if you believe I have been slanderous then firstly look up the meaning, and then discuss with a lawyer who I feel very confident will also make clear this is a personal opinion of a customer that was based on actual events and correspondence. I actually messaged you to make clear I would be reflecting your poor customer service in my next upload but funnily enough you did not respond to that message either. You then blocked me on Facebook for commenting on a posting which yet again was this a professional response to dealing with a customer's issues with your provided buisness.

Just found her emails very blunt and rude, and as for the excuses not to go was so frustrating. Definitely need some better customer service.
Tough luck on Gran Canaria fishing, I Was lucky enough to get there albeit the early 90’s and I had a couple of low20’s, the water level was right down low and it was extremely hot even upin the mountains.Can’t remember who I went with but I seem to think it was English couple who came and picked me up from hotel, saying good watch the video mate.
Hi Keith, possibly could be the same couple. I just felt they did not want to take me, and used every excuse not to go that week. Focus on Clump Hill for a few months especially in light of there being a couple of good thirties in there now. Hope all good with you buddy.

Hi Keith, thanks for the subscription. I fish Clump Hill quite a bit in Wimborne as only a small water but good goes testing baits and rigs. Also just joined WDAC and going to give Hatch Pond a go in Poole. Hopefully doing 4 nights soon at Marlborough Pool in Oxford as such a beautiful lake with some amazing carp in. Will have to meet up for a day session somewhere, where do you normally fish?

Hi Ben, you would never believe it, but two pieces of popped up fake sweetcorn! There are definitely just a handful of twenties in there but lovely looking fish.
