Is he still an "outsider" or has he been accepted into the pack yet? Maybe pack some electrolyte water additives to mask the flavor and help to hydrate? I'm surprised there wasn't still snowpack as a direct water source. Your cottontail reed pipeline was innovative AF though! Kudos! I'm not surprised your handi-capable trout tasted great. Extra muscle to make up for his missing fin. That was one buff fish. 😁 What a fantastic excursion! Do you ever cast lines with your subscribers? I know you seem to prefer the solo treks, but since we're "outdoor neighbors" I always felt like someday I'd run across you out in the wild in your yellow Econoline. It would have been easier to spot than your blue Ford. I may not be a mighty hunter, but I make a mean cast-iron pineapple-upside-down cake or dutch-oven cobblers while out on the mountain. Actually what i enjoy most is when you eat, there is just some more peacfull with it, and often you eat in the sunset and you have company with the wild life, just makes me so happy :)
