For starters thats a spiny lobster not a shrimp. Next to all the people saying "why don't you just stab its head?" while thats a valid concern you can't really kill a lobster like that. Lobsters have a distributed nervous system so they don't have a brain in the way that we do so even if you stab it in the head or decapitate it the lobster will still flop around well after it's been cut apart, which is why most of the time lobsters are dropped face first into boiling water, thats the fastest method I've heard of. Also that isn't grunting or sounds of distress being made by the lobster, thats just the exoskeleton rubbing against itself when it jerks around, lobsters dont have a way to make noise or vocalize in any way.

The lobster isn’t experiencing anymore brutality than it would being devoured by a natural predator. If people wanna focus on unnecessary brutality in nature, look up what big otters do to baby seals.

I'm not sure if you know this but lobsters do poison their meat once they die and they do it fast. That's why boiling alive or cutting tail off while alive is important. Do the research. Lobster poisoning is real and can kill you. Not everything in life is sunshine and rainbows. Life is tough and harsh, wear a helmet.

Jesus f'ing christ. I've grown up around the sea in Australia and that was just horrid watching him butcher the lobster. And yes, it is most definitely a lobster. Let's not pretend that this person couldn't just as easily have put his knife into its head before butchering it. It doesn't take more than a couple seconds and saves the animal from a world of pain. And for all the psychopaths out there, yes... They feel pain like any animal on this planet. It's a survival mechanism that is common across almost all species, it helps us to tell a good thing from a bad thing.

Geez, this seems so inhumane.. Causing a creature this much pain is something I wish we’d agree should be illegal. It’s one thing to kill an animal for food, it’s another to cut it in half while it’s alive and leave it screaming on a table while you clean it.. If it’s conscious, it suffered a fate worse than any of us will ever be able to comprehend.. Specifically, I’m recalling a time in history when humans would cut up dogs, as they screamed in agony, humans believing the wailing was the same as the wailing a broken machine makes.. Some people still do this, but for different reasons.. Some people also used to believe humans of certain races were mindless, and could be mistreated because their suffering was less worthy of consideration..

Cooks use tools to end its suffering in minutes, in nature, they will be killed more cruelly by other animals, don't be compassionate in this, you should watch more animal channels about animal hunting, they will even eat their own children!
