He definitely looks like the sneaky saboteur he is supposed to be. I have the Cobra Island version, but this one to me fits the character more. Great review as always!

Thanks feuergeist. :) I don't have the Cobra island edition, but from what I know of it I'm glad this new version has come along - I feel he's better suited to what I'm looking for from my Classified Joes. :)

This is the best review of this fig I've seen so far. I like your review style. When people pick up the figure & move it around, it's hard to get a solid look at the figure. I like how you let him stand, & just point at it. THEN, move him around after. Great background, lighting too.

Air rifle or pure (no alcohol) silicone oil will sort your joints out mate, been using it for years on anything plastic or rubber, won't hurt the paint and increases longevity in the polymers too.

Chris, another great, chuckle filled review! How do more people not know about your channel? Very entertaining! Now that you say it, I can see how this would fit in with Fortnite. But it’s what his classic figure looked like. He’s a saboteur, he needs to be stealthy. Fleet afoot. Which is one of my issues with v1. That huge Kevlar vest he came with was more suited for Tripwire, not a sneaky bastard like Firefly. Love the videos Chris, keep them coming

Thanks Colonel! I think (as you have pointed out before) the video length is a bit of a turn off. BUT, I appreciate the sentiment ;) I agree wholeheartedly about the Firefly sneaky saboteur vibe too - he's been fun to pose up and see how I can communicate the sneakiness. I was doing a One Minute Showcase short with him just last night - you'll have to take a look and let me know if I succeeded...

I'm still deciding which version I like better, as a whole. I think I'm going to end up with an amalgamation of the two, when all is said and done. I'm really interested to see how the Cobra Island head looks on this new body. I have a couple of design nitpicks of my own, but nothing I won't be able to touch up, once I get this new version in hand. I'm not regretting the pre-order, at least. 😆

I think if I had the first one I'd be swapping a few bits around in the accessory selection for sure. I always liked the classic-look dynamite and the drone with the Cobra Island one. :)

😂 Like a Diplomatic pouch 😅😅😅 the new Firefly figure 🎉looks cool and now that we've gotten him, it should quiet the fan boys that complaint about the first version we got of him . Can't wait to get him and add him to my collection... I think that I will add oil if my figure comes with frozen joints if the heat treatment doesn't work. Great job as always with your unboxing and review video Chris 👍👏

Definitely get the oil on them dude - I've had a run now of figures that are crunchy AF in the elbows and knees. To quote myself "anxiety inducing" when they first come out of the box. Thanks for being a great regular around these parts man - I always appreciate your comments. Did you see I made 1K subs this week? 🎉 I'm so grateful to folks like you that got me there. Bobby - have you been peeking at my notebook? LOL I am indeed working on a new Easter Egg video, but they take a bit longer to put together & edit etc, so it won't turn up for a little while yet. I've got 5 figures on the list since the last one. Although - I'll confess - the Firefly is taking a bit of research. I *think* this is a Six Sigma reference, but I need to get some re-watching done to be sure... :)

Cool detail about the gun, that's a real SMG, the Demro XF-7 Wasp, and it was the weapon that OG beach came with, so you can give Firefly a diff SMG, and give Beachead his OG weapon, which looks a heck of a lot better than the horrible Nerf gun it came with.

I thought that was Beachheads gun! I had the original Firefly and that was not the SMG he came with. I actually had the 12" Sideshow Collectibles version as well and loved the guns he came with.

I was hoping for a more updated firefly figure, this kind of looks more retro than updated. I hope hasbro does a more modern firefly or it might just be the mask

I would agree with that. He's def giving the vintage/nostalgia vibes with a wee bit of a modern Classified twist. That's all good for me (I used to have the Action Force version of Firefly that this draws HEAVY inspiration from) but I can totally see how there's opportunity to update him even just a touch more. :)

I'm having loads of fun. Love playing with my sneaky saboteur Firefly with the better scope for articulation. Def come back around when you pick one up and let me know how you get on with him once you have one in hand :)

Realized what looked off about this. It's missing additional paint decos such as white in the camo

Yea it just looked very Fortnitey to me, whereas the original didn't. It's the paint apps that made the difference. Thanks for the awesome review.@@MoDXtraGC

I haven't tried the shock oil, but the heating has had limited success so I'd give it a try.

BTW: thoughts on the new NF Wolf Spider figure? I heard he was created to be a NF troop builder.. then he turned out so cool they gave him a Codename. IMO figure cool… Falcon gear for him is meh. (Accessory pack needed). But how do you feel about Hasbro creating “New” Joe Characters? (stick to old or trickle in new here or there?)

I'm a bit divided on him to be honest. Sometimes I kinda like him, sometimes I kinda don't. I've got reservations about the extent of the re-use, but that helmet paint app and insignia do look interesting.

Firefly was made 40 years ago. He doesn’t look anything like Fortnite. Fortnite copied GIJOE.

I think they actually did, some of the game developers mentioned that they get inspiration from GIJOE. Theres even a character that looks like ShockWave

Just like Shooter, this version of Firefly definitely has very Fortnite-y feel to it. The Cobra Island version was far less cartoonish in design.
