Life Eternal was my most played song on Spotify 2019 AND 2020. It's so different from their other stuff but it's brilliant imo.

Ghost are amazing. Just look past the satanic schtick. Won a Grammy for their song Cirice.

"You are cast out from the heavens to the ground, blackened feathers falling down" While yes hes talking about Lucifer I also feel it's a metaphor for each of us when we hit our lowest point and it's up to us to rise from it

Ghost does everything from dark to funky in costume, and their live shows are amazing. I highly recommend Cirice and Square Hammer for opposite sounds with great riffs. The religious aspect is more parody than belief.

Ghost is awesome. He’s called Papa Emeritus and he’s basically the anti-Pope. It’s all just an act of course. Saw them live in KY a few years ago. Is still one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. They absolutely put on one hell of a show.

I once heard a reactor correlate them to KISS. Tobias has created a whole world of lore for the various characters, and the live shows are a spectacle. It's all about putting on the most fantastic performance!

When a band reminds me of both Abba and Morbid Angel they're definitely something special

Both Abba and Ghost are Swedish, and Tobias, the singer, often talks about them as an inspiration.

Didn't expect you to check out Ghost in my feed. Quite the interesting band. They're actually better live than in a studio setting too IMO. If you're going to check out more Ghost I would recommend tour recordings, specifically 2018-Present. Post-2018, their main focuses became sounding good live. The community has many Multicam live videos with great sound. I also think their current lineup is more technically proficient when it comes to their instruments, another reason to check out their recent live recordings.

I love Ghost. I didn't care for them the first time I heard them but they grew on me big time. I don't get into the lyrics but the whole package is awesome. I took my 68 year old mother to see them and see even loved them. Hahah second row!

They are absolutely amazing live. They are not a satanic band, but more of a parody of the hypocrisy of religion. They poke fun at it, and even call their live shows, "rituals". The look is more for shock value, gimmick, and theater but I think brilliant. The lead singer changes persona's every album and is called Papa, up until the newest album he is now a Cardinal. The other bandmates actually change, they are referred to as the Nameless Ghouls (all based on elements but they have also changed with the new album). With the new album we also have some Ghoulettes. Every album is very different. They are constantly evolving and changing. You really have to listen to different songs to really get a feel for what they are doing. Dance Macabre is more upbeat but Cirice is a masterpiece.

FINALLY!!!!!! THE BEST BAND OUT RIGHT NOW!!! I WOULD SUGGEST A SONG BUT ALL THEIR MUSIC IS FIRE!!!

What I really love about Ghost's music is how it can be interpreted.

An friend who is an LaVeyan Satanist said it great. Ghost does not sing about satan but to Satan. In an genre where they just sing about him an song dedicated towards him is an breath of fresh air. They also did an song called “Bible” which is surprisingly not very satanic and almost heart warming.

To me, the song is about figures of power. Kings and Queens of monarchs, presidents around the world or even wealth-sharks of capitalism. In the first two verses, Papa Emeritus uses words like power, crown, sceptre and gown. All of which are tied to royalty and wealth. This, obviously, resembles their pinnacle, with the pit being the grave they will eventually lay in. Even though they may be much powerful and wealthier than the people they rule over, they will eventually also end up in the same place as them. Everyone's demise is inevitable, no matter who you are. The third and fourth verse directly mentions things related to Lucifer. I think this is both to keep their Satan-gimmick as well as to ironically compare the previously mentioned people to him.

They also mentioned the "Cruciger Globus" (globus cruciger, really) - yet another symbol of power and authority. And "what's flat was round" looks to me like a double meaning - the round Earth looks flat when you crash down from the heavens and plant your face in it, and also after becoming fat and round by overindulgence they are now starving, destitute, and thin (or just old, sick, and generally deflated) so parts of them have become 'flat'.

Could be one of the worlds most underrated bands. They deliver fun as well as hard, serious songs. All backed up with incredibly good musicians.

I think Papa is talking directly to the listener. “You have the power, you wear the crown”. He’s using Satan as a symbol for rebellion, greatness, power, etc.

His name is Papa Emirtus and the band memebers are called The Nameless Ghouls...First off the "Satanic" Stuff is just a shtick. He isnt serious its all a performance. Musically he Papa is a a genius his real name is Tobias Forge. You def need to check more from these guys they are awesome. Some cant get past the Satanic shtick but its just that its a joke and one of the biggest Rock n Roll trolls of all time. Alot of what he talks about in his music is a metaphore on Society and how we have fallen.

Maybe my favourite Ghost song. I love the rebellious twist in the lyrics. In metal Satan has always been a symbol against religious ignorance and oppression. More that than devil worshipping.

I think when he says "From your empire, they stare and frown" is referring to the other angels when Lucifer was casted out. This is a spin on how Christians claim when The Satan was kicked out the angels weeped. They make it sound like he was beloved and wronged and not because they were sad by his betrayal.
