This is so much fun 🙂 Just loving your one-by-one discovery of this fantastic band, and the unfolding of magic and entertainment that Tobias Forge is creating... There is always a new view that appears.. a new detail that pops up.. a new meaning that unveils.. Reminds me of my own Ghost journey. BTW.. Since you rate Square Hammer at number 1.. a quick fun fact.. A lot of "hard core" metal fans started mocking the band, calling Ghost Scooby-Doo Metal after Square Hammer was released.. As a little kick back (on the shin) from Tobias, the song "Mary on a cross" and "Kiss the Go Goat" with Papa Nihil as the very first singer(according to the lore) premiered live on The Whiskey A Go-Go on Sunset Strip on the 13th of september 1969... Was that a random date? Nope 🙂 What else premiered on that date? First show, first season of the Scooby-Do series 😆 Attended my 9th ritual at the Tons of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway, end of June this year. Can't wait for next chapter to unfold, once this 5th cycle is over in LA on September the 11th.. Keep em coming, Lauren.. and enjoy! 🙂

Tobias wrote this on bass. That's why every song you hear sounds different because he can write on guitar (Cirice), bass (From the pinnacle to the pit) , keyboard (Respite on the spitalfields) or drums (Square Hammer). I totally agree with you. There is no words to describe the genious that is Tobias Forge. But there is one video that is pretty cool. And that is my favorite band with Lizzy Hale where she describes Tobias very well.

Now you better understand what we mean when we say that Ghost is a vibe not a genre. Tobias just writes hits. He doesn't care so much if it fits into whatever people think Ghost should sound like.

I know you don't like to review official band videos, but when you do "Mary On A Cross", you need to watch the video of the live performance, because it sounds so much better than the studio version. Also, you need to see the showmanship and charisma of Tobias Forge live (the costumes and musicianship are awesome too).

I get a kick out of your quirky personality and deadpan sense of humor (have you ever done stand-up comedy?). I totally understand your policy of not reviewing music videos (yes, I watched your explanation video on the subject). I guess I was hoping that you might break your own rule for the "Mary On A Cross" live video, because it's such a fan favorite and the best version imho. Best played in the car with a nice system on a sunny day with the windows down and cruising at about 35 mph. Great bass, this is the song that got me hooked on Ghost. And Square Hammer is distilled musical addiction.

Heavy hooky pop songs with a bit of heaviness and satanic lyrics. It's a combo that cannot be denied. Have a great week Lauren!

My introduction to Ghost was through your channel, last halloween. Now I have all their albums on iTunes, what an interesting band, I love them. :)

I have really enjoyed your reactions to the band Ghost. I love the look of bemusement on your face as you discover Tobias' anarchic creativity. Along with Nightwish I think this band is a great representative of 'post genre' music. I usually prefer bands with something to say like Nightwish, Disturbed and Rammstein but these guys are just great fun entertainment like Ayreon which is another band created by a one man genius called Arjen Lucassen - checkout his masterwork called 'The Day that the World Breaks Down'. Keep up the good work as you have much more Ghost to enjoy - Faith, Miasma, Hunter's Moon and Call Me Little Sunshine.

Catchy ~ off putting ~ inviting ~ repellent……I don’t know what it is, I just can’t seem to get off the damn fence with this band. Every time I’m ready to jump off and climb aboard, I find myself balancing and teetering, again. I don’t know if I hate to love them or love to hate them, which I guess it means they have me, either way?!? 🤘🏼

Power of Papa, in a way I think that's the perfect feeling lore behind the band wants mass to feel. Slowly invites you in. Be careful when it clicks you're getting pulled and it's over for you 😂

Regarding your comment about the Mary On A Cross lyrics, just want to throw this out there: THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD AND POORLY ANALYZED LYRICS in the Ghost discography. As Tobias has said, it has nothing to do with the Mother Mary, nothing to do with sex, and almost everything to do with trying to make it in the biz with your friends, maybe failing along the way, but treasuring the experience. Oh, and marijuana.

Could you please listen to avatar(band)? One of my favs are “let it burn”, but “bloody angel” is also a good first song. I know you dont watch videos, but maybe eventually like with slipknot, their music videos are always soo amazing, but they are also one of the best live bands I know. Avatar is my absolute favorite band ever and ghost and slipknot are close seconds. Also like Ghost and Slipknot, Avatar doesn't have one song that I don’t like and their sound is also so diverse
