Small tip: if you hit a tree with a wheel, then your rover won't stop. Thus you can make a bumper out of many 1x1 suspensions with wheels on them at 0 power, 0 friction and 0° steering angle. This won't use extra energy, but it will protect you from trees and other obstacles

Interesting, I knew wheels worked well as bumpers but didn't know they would keep you from stopping if they take out a tree. Maybe it's a subgrid thing. I'll try this, but it won't show up for a bit. (Recording is way ahead of episode releases at the moment.)

Finding that base was a pretty big break. Those are some lazy turrets though. Maybe they just needed some time to warm up?

Yeah, it's a bug with the vanilla turret framework ever since they changed it for Warfare 2. They added a bunch of new turrets, then made all turrets not work not most of the time on dedicated servers. Can't believe they still haven't fixed it.

You're nicer than I am. I would have taken everything they have. That's what they get for turning on a beacon and building above ground

Cool Series! Are you trying to find a components dealer station? That would be by far the most useful one to you. Also, if you have acquisition contracts of components you can make or ores you can find, you can always accept them, they don't time out Is this an official Keen Server you are playing on? The Turret Bug was reported to have been fixed since the Most Wanted update, but I guess it hasn't really been fixed for all cases... :/

Yeah, a components dealer would be great. I figure I could do the search contracts and buy what I absolutely need. It's not an official server but it's running on identical settings and hosting to them. Also, I do play on the official servers regularly and the turret bug still is a problem on them. Ran into it just last weekend.

@@AnonNopleb Yeah, I love the new turret options in general. They're great in SP and if you want them working in MP there is a workaround: use Weapon Core & Vanilla Weapons Replacement mods.

That base had a ton of cobalt...could have made grids for days.

Can't build or use large grid blocks in this playthrough and no production option for them with small grid blocks. Need to salvage them.

If you get so close to a turret that you can’t walk into it any more they spaz put and won’t shoot you

Its a cheesy strategy, but you should just tunnel underneath the base sapper style next time.

Thanks, I probably died 100 times flying to and from that base. Twas fun though, and felt good to finally build a hydrogen engine.

Why not take turret ammo instead?
