I finally get behind the wheel of the new Ferrari Roma in Italy and considering it's been so long since I had a proper Italian espresso, I decide to give the Roma the ultimate test, by taking it to get a coffee.
The Ferrari Roma, the new mid-front-engined 2+ coupé of the Prancing Horse, features refined proportions and timeless design combined with unparalleled performance and handling. With its distinctive flair and style, the car is a contemporary representation of the carefree, pleasurable way of life that characterised Rome in the 1950s and ‘60s.
The Ferrari Roma represents the pinnacle of performance in this category, thanks to its turbo-charged V8 from the family of engines that has won the overall International Engine of the Year award four years running. In this version, the engine reaches 620 cv at 7500 rpm and is coupled with the new 8-speed DCT gearbox that was introduced on the SF90 Stradale.
The Ferrari Roma's chassis benefits from the technology developed by Ferrari for its new generation models; both bodyshell and chassis have been redesigned to incorporate the latest weight reduction and advanced production technologies. In fact, 70% of its components are entirely new. The mid-front-engined 2+ Ferrari Roma has the best weight/power ratio in its segment (2.37 kg/cv), which enhances handling dynamics and responsiveness.

In some video he also said he's a big fan of Peter McKinnon who does great photography content and inspires him. You can see he really cares about production quality and the right gear while others just take out their cam and start the video.

I simply love the new Ferrari Roma: Distinguished, unique and usable. It's not too big or too low and it looks superb. Maybe the best GT car right now.

Any other team or company that wrote off the current and next season would just be an absolute joke. OK I know like tech companies are taking a decade to turn profits but they're still increasing turnover and market share but ferrari get massive legacy payments they can tough it out until 2022 when they might come back with a competitive car. I hope anyway

'ESC off' mode in my California T is the equivalent of 'Race mode'.. according the owners manual.. just when you mentioned that none of the recent Ferrari GT's have a race mode. Fantastic video as always!!

thanks so much for the unique video, sometimes watching these press launch videos becomes a bit repetitive but you did give us some unique observations. As someone in his 50's rather than from the 50's (but without the money) this would also feel much more desirable than some other loud/bling models...so they've got that aspect right. The more I see of it the more the design grows on me too...it feels like it could almost be a daily. the f-type comparison also feel pertinent...

To me; this is the most beautifully designed car (in and out) in recent years from any car maker. This is like the most beautiful elegant woman you ever saw. To me, no other car maker has a new model this good looking. (my opinion guys).

Wow, this was some vlog Sam. Quality is off the scale, the whole lifestyle/travel/food snippets just make it so watchable and good quality, this is genuinely the best video on this car I have seen and I’ve watched them all. Ok MR JWW quality has dropped off a cliff recently, he’s clearly pushed for time these days but you have taken the ball and run with it, genuinely TV worthy and you are streets ahead of anyone else, keep it up!👍

My points on this video 1) It needs the wing shields 2) The other wheels suit it better 3) I wish you talked about the interior more , its stunning inside the cabin 4) I think you'd take a big hit on depreciation when selling a Roma in the future 5) Its an understated beautiful Ferrari Great content as ever :)
I cannot help it but the Roma reminds me of a certain Maserati Alfieri showcar presented a few years ago as the upcoming replacement for the Maserati Gran Turismo... and now Maserati prepares the launch of a kinda Alfa 4Cish mid-mounted engine sports machine instead of the Alfieri. What if Ferrari stole the Alfieri because it was so good? Anyway Sam, start putting money aside as you will be driving this very beauty in near future... the Lottery might be a solution to speed up things... ;-)

This car has grown on me. When they presented it I felt it was some kind of Aston Martin clone, but seeing it reviewed the sheer simple beauty of the lines is refreshing, given how complex and "over the top" has become the standard even for Ferrari cars esthetics. This car has that Italian "thing" to it and it is really hard to resist.

Fiat (Budget shit) Abarth (Budget shit with more HP) Alfa Romeo (Premium car) Maserati (Luxury car with sporty accents) Ferrari (Sports and GT premium cars) Does it really matter where Fiat-Chrysler group put it? Maseratis are supposed to be cheaper than ferraris, this model would be too expensive for a maserati. In fact, this ferrari costs double the amount of a maserati.

martin, it looks like a cross between a Vantage and an F Type to me. I don’t see that as a bad thing though - there are certainly worse looking cars that they could have drawn inspiration from!
